Title: It's a coming out party!
Post by: JFPulse on June 03, 2007, 10:41:37 PM
*walks forward nerviously and taps on the mic before beginning*

Hello.  My name is Pulse, and I'm a furry.  You all are the first people I have ever told this to despite knowing it myself for several years.  I first realized my furriness way back with a popular cartoon basketball movie and a cute hunny bunny named Lola.  Ah, young crushes are quite amusing in retrospect.  I've grown beyond that now, and I'm finally ready to come out and join the community.  (Well, at least through the anonymity of the internet at any rate.)

As far as my fursona goes, I have always been a cat person, and tigers embody the perfect ballance of grace, speed, stealth, and power.  Their metaphisical significance in East-Asian tradition was the last bit of convincing I needed.  I have several interests that my Avatar may be able to explore more readily than myself: capoeira, techno mixing, and Tibetan Buddhism to name a few.  It is one of my life goals to visit Tibet one day, political climate permitting.  Who knows, the trip through the Himalayans may even turn my fur white!

Hmm, I feel like I am leaving so much out, but I suppose that will only leave me open for questions, and I do love questions.  Speaking of which, I have a question for all of you.  I just joined IMVU, and I have noticed that most people I try to talk to will leave the chat almost immediately before saying "Hi."  Is this typical, or are they afraid of my fur?

Well, that's all I have for now.  I hope to get to know all of you real soon.

Pulse (the JF are IMVU required initials)

Welcome. And yes, it's somewhat typical for them to leave. A lot of people I meet in 'chat now' seem to run once they see I'm a furry. XD 'Chat Now' has never been my favourite form of chat.  :umm:

Anyway, enjoy your time here!

Welcome aboard.  ^._.^

To be honest the last time I tried chat now they always left before their avatar would load.
I think it happened even once when I put on my human avatar.
People do that to non-furries too.

Hi! I know how it is with the IMVU people...anyone I talk to in Chat now tends to leave REALLY fast...maybe because i found a keyword-activated sword complete with Seppukku action?
Or maybe it's the tail...

Anyway, HI!

I dunno about the 'Chat now' people hating us, I still had people leave without so much as a "Hi" when my avi was human. Plus a large number of people don't even know what a furry is.

But anywhosits, that aside. Welcome to the forum, have fun^^
