Hello everyone! I want to be able to communicate with others in this community relatively easily and need some help with terminology. There are many terms I am aware of but do not want to use stereotypical terminology. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!! :D

See what you typed in the topic?
That is what will let you communicate with everyone easily.
Don't constantly use the word fur at the beginning of words also. It gives me a headache, trying to figure out what you are saying.
I'm not good with any of the furry slang, anyway. I speak American English with a bit of ghetto slang mixed in.

You don't really have to use any special words when talking to furries, but these kind of things do come up every so often. Some people use "furry terms" more than others, and some terms are more common than others.
Furry = someone who is a part of the furry fandom
Non-furry = someone who is not aware of or not part of the furry fandom
Fursona = furry persona; an anthropomorphic or animal character/version of "you"
Furson = furry + person
Anyfur = anyone + furry
Everyfur = everyone + furry
Furiend = furry + friend
Paws = hands or feet
I'm sure I'm forgetting some, but those are the ones that come to mind.

Something i found out that isn't just for furries, but I didn't get what people were saying until after I looked up the difference :P
Plantigrade: walking/standing full-footed
Digitigrade: walking/standing on just the front of the foot, like animals
It's not really that big of a deal, but some people prefur (ya see what i did thar? XP ) their sonas or characters to walk on their heels :P

Pretty much if you're in RP and someone says, describes, or does something you don't understand; find the OOC (Out Of Character) Thread and ask for clarification of the words/phrases/post. Someone should answer in a meaningful and polite manner.
There are a lot of other vocab words that aren't described here. But those are more for RP. Some Minor friendly, like scritch and glomp. Others... Well NSFW.
In all honesty. If you speak or can read/write English decently; don't use txt, 1337 5p34k, or other annoying variations. You'll make friends and fo well. The more mature you seem outside of RP the more internal respect you will get.
But when doing RP, if your character is hyperactive and spastic... Then stay in character.

Anthro - human-like form
Feral - natural form
Furry - one who likes the idea and art etc. of anthro animals
Fursuiter - one who wears animal costumes
Therian - one who is an animal in a human body; see here (http://www.thefurryforum.com/forums/index.php?topic=18524.msg805907#msg805907)
Yiff - let's just say NSFW acts & things.
Yerf - SFW acts & things.
In the media furries are usually pictured as fursuiters (though one can be furry and not a fursuiter and vice versa) and often as yiffers.

Just a quick correction: Not all non-human animals have digitigrade feet. Bears, raccoons, and rabbits are a few examples of plantigrade animals.
Anyway, the only other thing I can come up with is:
Mate - boyfriend/girlfriend
There honestly isn't much else I'm aware of. I know of the furry slang term "Pawsome", from when I first joined. It seems to have fallen out of use, however.
