>:( Ok, so I understand rule 34 porn for everything blah blah blah but Why does there have to be so damn much of it? I can only find a limited supply of really good clean art and some REALLY GOOD artist are wasting their time with porn! There seems to be no shortage of good-quality art when it comes to porn, but there is a big shortage of really good CLEAN art. I have some good clean stuff I have found and now its in my picture document folder but I can normally only find like 10 really good ones! Does anyone know where to find really good clean artwork?
-
You really just gotta browse places o.o
I can't say I think there's a shortage of good clean art, because at the very least on FA I have nearly half and half, and that's out of 50+ pages of faves or something to that effect. I can reference artists if need be
-
On FA, you're not allowed to see the NSFW pictures unless you have an account that says you're old enough and want to view them. You can even switch it off to images rated for adults so you only see the clean artwork. You can try that if you'd like.

That's kind of judgmental. You shouldn't call people art a waste of time, regardless of content. It's disrespectful.

Dr. Comet has some really sweet stuff and his art is about 50/50.

I just think they could be using that talent to make clean art. I look clean art up all the time and find very little real good stuff. I turn safe search on and everything.

http://www.furaffinity.net/user/thanshuhai/ (http://www.furaffinity.net/user/thanshuhai/) Is an amazing clean artist. So good that almost everyone these days are trying to rip off his eyes!

Wow, those are good!

Agreeing with this. Artists are people, and people like different things. No one needs to adjust their talents to draw what other people want. It's kind of ridiculous to assume that artists are being wasteful by drawing pornography when in the furry fandom it can get you a lot of money, as well. If adult art makes you uncomfortable you can safe search (FA has a sfw button on it which is cool!) and on other sites you can even ban keywords to prevent you from seeing technically safe but fetishy stuff.
Also, to dismiss pornography or adult work as "not art" is absolutely not okay. There are plenty of pornographic, and dare I say fetish pictures that have artistic merit. Just because someone doesn't wish to see them does not mean that they are talentless "wastes". It's presumptuous and childish to think that's the case. That being said, it's okay to not like it however, it's not okay to assume there's zero effort involved in the process. Art takes a long time, that includes adult and clean art. Subject matter is pretty much irrelevant when you're talking skill, time, and creativity.
tl:dr: pet peeves

To me, this is like saying, "I think they could be using that talent to make non-furry art." Yes, they could, but clearly they don't want to. I get wanting to see more of particular art you enjoy, but if that's the case, commissioning them for it is a good start. Another alternative is get started learning to draw, yourself. There's tons of resources on the internet.
And it's okay to have particular kind of art you want to see! Just don't be vaguely insulting to pieces that don't fit those guidelines and artists who don't produce the things you want to see. There's no need for that negativity.

I have to agree with Friday and MomoHyena.
If you want clean furry art, there are a number of clean blogs on tumblr if you've got a profile there. I've tracked the "cleanfur" and "cleanfurry" tags there, and while some of it really pushes the "clean" part, none of it is explicit. I suggest checking that out if you're on tumblr.
-
Now, I understand where y'all are coming from, and I do consider the pornographic stuff art, but I simply don't like how much more of it there is than clean stuff. Yes, I do turn safe search on and search with the keyword clean, aber I still get a Lot of porn.
-
Well, if you've taken those measures and it's still coming up, it may just be something you need to look past. Just scroll past the adult stuff and pay attention to the clean art.
-
I know that SoFurry has features for users to search clean-only artwork.
I was considering putting my current writing projects on hold and writing a few furry shorts, but I'm not sure what the reception would be and if it would be worthwhie. I was just thinking that it's a shame there's so little fiction about growing up LGBT that isn't about dating or sex in a community with so many members.
-
There are plenty of artists that have a completely clean gallery, myself included. For most of the porn artists, it's because porn sells so it's easy money, but really most of these artists still do clean art, there are very few that are porn only. Just switch the SFW filter on and suddenly there's a lot more clean artists. Not really hard to find.
-
Ive had people think im a perverted freak, when they just see the tge bad side google only wants to show.
It sucks, it does alot.
And it gives a bad POV, when 90% just are everyday people.
-
I agree. I've almost lost friends when they found out I was a fur. Lucky I was able to explain things better then the net but still I shouldn't have to explain.
-
I wish there was more clean artists.
Their stubbornness and ignorance decided to explode on twitter, and other things.
That stuff NEVER goes away.

Adult content is in a lot of social art, not just things like furry.
In fact, figure drawing classes can be very much mature in nature if not directly explicit (and although I've hardly participated I can say this).
Another factor is that adult content sells primarily because it's a form of exhibition for people's fantasies and a lot of people stereotype adult nature as being a "wild animal" thing, a likely reason why so many connect to that side of furry.
The artists I favour hardly make much adult content, however, since I do not really enjoy looking at other people's characters in what could be described a public act of affection. I do not follow in lust, I only trust love and I am very much avoidant of mature content of any kind. I also have a mate and seeking out adult content just makes me feel like I'm somewhat "cheating".
I'd recommend you try out sites like deviantArt if you don't already, you'll notice there are many good, talented artists if you can see past the mass of beginner fan artist on the largely PG-oriented site.
Just find the artists you like, follow them and perhaps even follow in their pawsteps if you so choose?
Certainly, I've noticed how people say a lot of things are overly "sexualised", including the pop industry, some forms of manga/anime art, etc.
Also, note don't use the keyword "furry" all the time, furry isn't really a used term for genre these days, it mostly refers to the very "hardcore" fan base, i.e. the types of furries that pull furry aspects into every part of their lifestyle (that includes sexuality).
I can't say a lot as quite a hyposexual on how mankind seems very much based on sexualisation so I just say "each to their own", I'm not even going to pull the "can't beat them, join them" card, one person's hinderance is often another's source of pleasure.
But all in all, understand that sex sells, just go around it, you'll find more of what you seek - suggestivity is everywhere, to get popular at character art you need to generate a sense of "attraction" to as wide an audience as you can (often sexual attractiveness + intensity + decent sense of anatomy = attractive) - I'm sure there's plenty that prefer or just like to see a lot of clean art for a change.
If you want to support clean artists, you could always become one yourself - the world won't change just for you and the like-minded in numbers can cause revolutionary changes.
If I ever get good at art, I hope to go the route of clean art.
For now, just keep looking :3

Sums up nicely.
I wish I could word it that well, not in any demeaning form.
I would bark like a mad dog. It's very frustrating.

I understand. Clean and cleaner furs exist, however, if you don't like the adult content just block it out and hope that others like you will be the majority and do the same.
Don't be frustrated *hugs*.

I'm clean and since my behavior and my muscular tone many have thought all I am is a yiff, even though I hate any and all kinds of that stuff. It's disgusting sometimes when people want to do that kind of stuff, suggesting with me. Ugugh! It's affecting their minds.
Thank you.

I get you. I wouldn't attack all of those into "yiff", however, some just see at as an extension to affection. I do agree that its excess and the obsession of it is bad for those who do it and around others (being sexually sensitive I don't like to see it in any kind of form) it becomes a hinderance - in public spaces/sites it's almost like trolling because you're leaving something that you know someone else my find offensive/obscene. It also gives bad stereotypes - after all, just because you like animal people it shouldn't mean you like it in a perverted way. Anyhow this is a PG site so I won't go too deep.
-
I Wouldn't, because I'm very touchy. I'll stop attacking them, I do have a great amount of distaste for it. I just also have "pleh!" "that's eww, I don't care whatever you do in your bedroom!" mind. My mind is wired very grey-orientated. I cant wrap around the concept of "attraction". Born intersex, male was chosen, and I do hope to revert that in a couple months.
-
The lack of clean art is the main reason why I do not tell any of my friends or familly about me being a furry.

Mental masculinity isn't always entirely so evident until a male is in there mid 20s causing them to change their gender identity to the opposite sex and then back again (transsexual people who do MTF HRT and then quit are great example). Just don't think too much into it, your distaste might in fact be a reaction to your own confusion. I've noticed a lot of people regarding this, especially introverts, often identify as or seem to be confused or intersexed in gender, I'd say it's because they don't fit the extroverted aspects associated with the traditional genders. Since this is the internet I'd suspect most here are quite introverted, yet with the digital age it's harder to tell who is and who isn't so much since so many are often more open about themselves online than offline. It's all stereotypes anyway. And attraction can be dynamic and is most easily divided into aesthetic attraction, romantic attraction and sexual attraction. Where you're attracted to a certain sex but are unsure of your own gender you can say you're androphiliac (attracted to males romantically/sexually) or gynophiliac (attracted to females romantically/sexually). I believe I could consider myself primarily a biromantic androphile (polysexual), spiritually I'd describe I was somewhat similar to being "two-spirited", though I don't really follow in the idea of souls having a single gender or speaking as a singlet that I am multiple spirits. But just be yourself and live and let live :3

Sure.

So many big words, but i think i got that though my head.
