-
*Zero walks through the flooded city, wearing a face scarf for the hard beating summer...he looks at the water, not sure if it was drinkable or more the less sterile*
-
Ray hitched his pack higher, and adjusted the gasmask around his neck. With all the destroyed homes, natural gas leaks would prove problematic. He pushed his makeshift canoe into the water, and began rowing.
-
Dannie's head popped out from under the water and she doggy paddled through it. 'This kinda tingles, but it feels... nice.' She thought to herself. Her ears twitched at sounds all around her.
-
Ray spotted someone swimming in the water, and rowed up to them. He identified the person as a black sheep, and smiled. "Excuse me, miss? Do you need help?"
-
*as zaida snarled while holding jax as he cried in her shoulder* "it's alright jax.... I'll protect you.. Nothing will happen.." *she walked through the water covered streets with cuts and bruises on her from the large tsunami that hit*
-
Dannie looked up at the fur and smiled brightly. "Yes, please! I'm so lost I don't know my ass from a whole in the ground."
-
Ray nodded, and offered a paw. "Here, I'll take you somewhere dry, and we'll figure it out."
-
*he gathers the water in his canteen and smiles*"all i need to do is boil it.."
-
Dannie took the offered paw and climbed up beside the fur. "Th-thank you."
-
*she sets jax on a log* "here.." *she says weakly holding on to the side while she kicked her feet i. The water*
Jax:"how about you mom.." *he says sniffling*
Zaida shakes her head:"don't worry about me.."
-
Ray offered a smiled. "Don't mention it. In times like these, we gotta help each other." He continued rowing, as pictures of Acon and the twins swung in frames on his pack.
-
*He hears talking before walkong across the floating items and saying*"Hello? anybody there"*he talks in his normal boston accented voice*
-
Dannie studied the pictures and smiled warmly. "Aw! Is that your family?"
-
*jax hears a voice in the distance* "mom did you hear that?"
*zaida didn't reply as bags were under her eyes and she panted continuing to kick*
Jax:"hello?!"
-
Ray sighed, and hung his head. "Was. The jackal you see, she died...and I sent my children, the twins, with my brother. I hope they understand..." He shook his head, sniffed, and continued rowing. Ray blinked, and looked around. He spotted someone on a log, and began rowing that way, slowly. "H-Hello?"
-
*He hears a familier kid voice*"Jax?...must be a mirage...hmm"
-
*zaida rested her head on the log while she pushed as the water was turning red around her*
*Jax went to answer but saw the red* "mom your bleeding! Mom stop your hurt!" *he cried loudly* "please.."
Zaida:"I'm fine... I'm okay..."
-
Dannie let her ears fall and she mentally scolded herself. "I-I'm so sorry." She looked to the child and furrowed her brow. "Uh oh."
-
Ray took his pack off, and hopped into the water. He stopped Zaida, and helped her into the canoe. Ray then placed the child into his canoe, and tied a rope to the handhold on the front. He put the rope in his mouth, and began swimming, pulling the canoe along.
-
*zaida breathes heavily as the water blood fell on the canoe*
Jax cried:"mom please stay awake... Don't close you eyes"
*zaida shook her head keeping her eyes widen seeing everything blurry*
-
Ray stopped, reached into his vest, and pulled a shot of morphine out. He uncovered the needle, and drove it into Zaida's leg. "Stay with me, miss. Your son needs you."
-
Dannie watched the two new members of the party and studied them with her aqua blue gaze.
-
*zaida sat up coughing and looked at the wound* "don't look.."
*jax went to asked but followed her mothers instructions*
*zaida growled lightly before digging her finger into the wound and finally grabs the scrap of metal chucks it* "f*ck...." *she sighed* "I don't want.... You to.. See me like this.."
*jax wiped his tears worried for his mom*
-
Ray stopped beside a sunken bus, and climbed up it. He tied the rope around his waist, and helped Zaida onto the bus. He then helped Jax, and finally Dannie. Ray pulled his pack up, and pulled out medical supplies. He began working on Zaida, hoping she would stay conscious. "Hey, what's your name, miss? Can you tell me your name?"
-
*she shakes her head* "n-no you don't.. Need to know."
Jax replies:"she's zaida... She was attacked before the tsunami and then the tsunami got her hurt badly" *he says worriedly as he worked on her*
-
*He takes off the face scarf and boils his water,he looks at the passing canoe seeing zaida and jax*
-
*zaida watched as the man worked on her not trusting him. Jax looked seeing zero in the distance he quickly jumped into the water and yelled while crying* "DAD!!"
-
*he jumps into the water and puts jax on the boat he coughs a he swalloed the unclean water*
-
Ray chuckled. "Well, miss, you're lucky I found you. Pretty well behaved, myself." He continued to work, keeping the water from Zaida's wound.
-
*jax hugs him crying* "dad I thought you were gone.." *he smiles happy that he finally found his father* "mom was hurt... And a a man he's helping her over there..."
-
Ray wiped his brow. "Bite down, Zaida. There's a piece of metal lodged in a bone, I'll have to pull it out. It's gonna hurt like all hell, alright?" He looked at Zaida, seeing if she was okay with the procedure.
-
*she didn't make eye contact and ripped her sleeve off and bit snarling as she did so*
-
Ray gripped the metal, and pulled it free, nearly toppling off of the bus.
-
*He looks at jax smiling*"I missed you son..."
-
*jax smiles with tears* "I d-did t-too dad.."
*zqida screams in pain still hitting the piece of clothing in her mouth*
-
Ray started patching up Zaida. "Hey, you'll be fine."
-
((I sense a metro 2033 ripoff... But that's cool! That game ees sweg))
Name: thomas R. Vess
Species: black German shepherd
Gender: male
Relationships: none as of yet
History: thomas, a police sergeant, was in the metro, as a sort of evacuation force. He didn't have his AK-105, that came later. But he was deprecated from his squad by a flooded station, and now he wanders the metro, looking for food, water, and ammo.
-
"No, sh*t where is my son.." *she growls*
-
*he brings jax to zaida*"hey zaida.."
-
*zaida looks up and puts her paw over her eyes block the sun then gasp* "z-zero? Your... A-alive?!" *she says sitting up almost in tears*
-
Ray looked at Zero, and nodded. "I'll leave her with you, then." He set the canoe back in the water, and waited for Dannie.
-
Vess walked along the metro, measuring his distance by the railroad ties below him. He held his Kalashnikov tight, glad he has plenty of batteries for his shooting earmuffs, and a silencer for his rifle. Else he would be permanently deaf if he fired it.
-
Ray felt the air thicken, and looked out at the horizon. He quickly pulled his gasmask on, checked the filter, and called to the others. "We've got to get inside! Come on!" Ray pulled Dannie into the boat, and motioned for the others to follow.
-
"What happening?" Dannie asked with a raised brow.
-
Ray checked his watch, holding it up towards the horizon. He winced, and started rowing. "I don't know what it's called, but it's happened a few times. The air gets all foggy, and gross. It feels like grease on your fur, and I've seen people die from it." Ray picked up the pace, until they were moving at a nice clip.
-
"Hmm... sounds dirty." Dannie groaned.
-
((Is there mutants in the metro?))
-
*she stands weakly hugging zero and jax for a moment until seeing Ray start to paddle then quickly jumps into the water with jax and zero and getting in the canoe with them* "oh the fog... Yea that's probably why I'm so weak that is horrible stuff nearly killed me, I only had one mask and used it for my son.." *she says panting from swimming to the canoe*
-
Ray nodded. "Check my pack, I've got a few masks...j-just in case." He continued rowing.
-
Dannie shook her head. "Something tells me ill be just fine." She sat back and watched Ray row.
-
((Mneh. I'll add in some nosalises. Maybe some other thingies from STALKER and the metro series. Oooh! Ghosties!))
Vess sighed, his flashlight sweeping around the circular tunnel. He was nearing Henson station, and there was a blockage there, if he remembered correctly. And he had heard of men... Disappearing there. So he would remain on guard as best he could.
-
((Dark Ones? Could be neat, actually. What about Anomalies?))
Ray shrugged, and continued to row. "Suit yourself." He checked his watch one last time, before stopping. Ray smiled, and found what he was looking for; a bus reinforced with scrap metal. It provided easy and protected access to the Theodore Monroe Metro Platform. Ray remembered when it got constructed, all those years ago. Still had his, Acon's, and the twins' paw prints embedded in the cement, when they snuck in just before completion. Ray stopped the canoe, and helped everyone inside. He closed the door, just as the fog rolled in.
-
*he looks inside the pack and gives one to zaida, along with himself*
-
Dannie looked around with an impressed smile om her face. "What's this?"
-
*she puts the mask on and the other she's had on jax* "thanks"
-
((Yeah! Anomalies! We will be most cheeki breeki! I just need to meet up with ya!))
Vess' flashlight played over some sort of distortion in the air, like something was really hot. He chuckled a moment, thinking of an old game he used to like, about Russians. So, to humor himself, he grabbed a random bolt, and tossed it at the distortion. Much to his suprise, a jet of flame suddenly burst out from the ground, and he damn near doubles over laughing. "H-holy sh*t! It's just like stalker!"
-
Ray sighed. "Something me and my friends and family did." He shepherded everyone inside, taking the masks back. Ray put them all away, before calling out, while moving everyone into the Metro. "Ronnie!? I found more survivors!"
-
((Ooh! Ronnie's here!))
Dannie raised a brow. "Ronnie? Who's that? Come to think of it, I don't even know your name."
-
While it may have been a cool novelty, it meant that Vess had to find a new way around, which he did. It took him an hour, but he did.
((Hmmm... Snorks, nosalises, or bloodsuckers? Maybe a pseudogiant. Which should Vess have to run away from? I'll let you guys decide!))
-
Ray smirked. "My name's Ray, miss. And Ronnie's...well...here. Just...be careful, and keep your distance." He patted Dannie's shoulder lightly, and walked towards a shack, which had various utensils hanging from strings in the doorway. Ray tapped it lightly, and poked his head in. After a brief moment, Ray stepped back, and Ronnie stepped out. Ray then moved behind Ronnie, and started organizing his stuff.
Ronnie spotted the group, and made his way towards them.
((I...I only know Nosali...so, go for them.))
-
Dannie raised a brow and was about to speak until Ronnie appeared. She snapped her mouth shut and looked at her feet. "W-what's... he looks mean."
-
Ronnie smiled at Dannie, and shrugged. "I don't know what Ray told you, but he's always busting my...nevermind. I'm Ronnie, the director, the puppet-master...et cetera." He offered a large, tattooed, and scarred paw.
-
((Okies, nosalises it is! Kinda wanted to do snorks.))
Vess pulled on his military grade m-50 gasmask as he began to explore the station. They were close to the surface anyways, and there was all kinds of nasty stuff in them. So, just in case, he put his mask on. As he exited the maintenance tunnel, te first thing that would have hit him, would have been the stink. But, luckily, the seal on his mask was good, so he smelled nothing
-
Dannie jumped and fell on her ass. "Oh my god. She turned over and started laughing. "I'm so sorry." She stood and took Ronnie paw with warm smile. "Nice to meet you."
-
Ronnie placed a paw on his broad chest. "Please, the pleasure is all mine. Ray found you..." Ronnie sniffed. "Taking a bit of a swim, m'dear?"
-
((Hmm... Someone want to RP the nosalises so I'm not completely alone?
-
Dannie nodded. "Yeah. In that really screwy water. Don't know how I got there, but I did."
-
((I got your back.))
As Vess traveled through the Metro, a small, sickly looking bat-like creature limped across the rail lines, keening as it went.
Ronnie chuckled. "I've had nights like that, though mine involved more illicit materials, and a wonderful woman that me and Ray both knew...poor girl." His smile faded, and he shook his head.
-
((Cheers man!))
Vess jerked his rifle towards the source of the noise, his flashlight illuminating the creature.
-
Dannie tilted her head and raised a brow as Ronnie began to look more and more familiar. "Huh."
-
Ronnie rubbed his eyes, and looked at Dannie. "Yeah...I...It doesn't matter. Let's get you guys around a fire, hmm? You're soaked through."
The creature flinched, and hissed at Vess. It glared at him, and began wandering towards him, bleeding profusely from one side. Other hisses and growls resounded through the rail line, but a good ways away.
-
Dannie let her ears drop and she averted her eyes to her shoes. "O-okay."
-
Vess' eyes widened as he backed away... Was this one attacked? He found himself approaching it, rifle still aimed at the creature. "Hey there lil guy!" He said through his mask
-
The creature flinched, and started to back away. Hisses could be heard coming from behind Vess, at an alarming decibel.
Ronnie patted Dannie's back. "Did you know her? I...I mean...she still matters to me...I didn't know you knew Acon. I should've asked..." He sighed, and walked towards the barrel brazier, and pulled up a bunch of lawn chairs around it.
-
Hewitt shook his head, and turned tail. This station wouldn't be where he died, not today! He ran, his boots clattering noisily on the concrete.
-
Dannie shook her head, to answer his question and to shake away a few memories that began to leak back. "N-no. I didn't know her, but she seems pretty important to that dude... Ray was is? And it seems she was just as important to you." She sat with her hooves on the chair under her.
-
Ronnie nodded. "She was. Y'know...I was going to move to the Middle East, get away from my life. But...I couldn't stop thinking about her."
Ray walked out of the shack, carrying a large pan. He set it over the brazier, and dumped a few cans of pasta into it. Ray then sat on the other side of the brazier, and fiddled with one of the many lockets he wore. "Are we...talking about...her?"
The hissing became more agitated, as skittering filled the tunnel. The bat-creatures had arrived en masse, about five or six, each as big as an average male. They moved awkwardly behind Vess, trying to attack him.
-
Dannie let her ears fall lower to her head. "Wow." She looked between the two men and sighed. "I-I'm sorry. We don't have to talk anymore about this if you don't want to." Dannie cringed and rubbed her head as the memory of Ray shooting her came back.
-
Both Ray and Ronnie nodded. Ronnie stood, and sighed. "I-If you don't mind...I'm gonna go lie down." He walked towards the shack, and disappeared inside. Ray watched him leave, and sighed. "That's Ronnie. He's not been the same...after...A-Anyway, are you feeling well, miss?"
-
Vess cursed, firing panicked bursts over his shoulder as he ran thorough the tunnels. The rifle fire, even with the silencer, was quite loud, the enclosed space of the tunnel only helping to accentuate that fact. He did see a glimmer of light far off, it might be the surface, it might be just a regular old light, he couldn't tell. Either way, it was a suitable goal to reach. So, he charged towards it, begging for dear life.
-
Dannie nodded, but quickly stopped as it started to throb. "Yeah... I'm fine. So, are we all sleeping here?"
-
Two of the creatures fell dead from the fire, and two more stopped to devour the deceased. The last two chased doggedly on, obviously upset.
"I suppose so, I've got a bunch of sleeping bags, and a few mattresses. O-Only...only if you want to." Ray rolled up his shirt sleeve, revealing his tattooed arm. He scratched at his shoulder briefly, before rolling his sleeve back down.
-
Dannie sighed and hugged her knees tighter as she caught a glimpse of Ray's arm. "I... thank you. I'd like that, actually."
-
Vess stole a quick glance over his shoulder. Only two of the creatures were following him. He could take that, he decided. So, he turned, took up a tactical crouch, and fired a burst of 5.45 at them.
-
Ray nodded, and left to set out the bedding. He returned a few moments later, with enough bedding for the new arrivals. Ray sat back down, and smiled sadly at Dannie. "I don't believe I ever caught your name miss...?"
The two creatures pounced, both catching the rounds squarely in the chest. They both dropped, but one tried to crawl away, keening and whining as if it's life depended on it.
-
Dannie looked at Ray and smiled. "My names Dannie. Dannie Young." She chipped, holding out her paw to shake.
-
Vess grinned under his mask as he approached the thing, happy he was alive. He looked down at his magazine, checking if it had any ammo. He was out, so he exchanged an empty mag for a new one, checking the chamber for a round. There was one. So, he fired a few shots at the two bar things down the corridor, saving the wounded one for later
-
Ray nodded, and shook her paw. "Well, Dannie Young, the swimming sheep. It was a pleasure to help you." He smiled.
Both of the creatures down the railway dropped, stone dead. The wounded creature crawled pitifully away, as it bled profusely. It moved a few more feet, before dying from blood loss.
-
Dannie's smile brightened. "Thank you." She looked about the room at the others. "So... what is this place anyway? Just a little place to help survivors?"
-
((Censored cos Russian cursing))
"Y*bat s*ka!" He shouted, giving the wounded one a kick. He didn't actually speak Russian, but he knew quite a few choice words, mostly because he played plenty of Russian games back when he still could use a computer. He sighed, moving back along the hallway, picking back up his spent brass cartidges.
-
"We stay around her, because it's easier to access, but we set up little camps around each of the platforms. Some are bigger than others, and are run by some of Ronnie's friends." Ray sighed, and smiled.
-
Dannie nodded, accepting this answer. "Cool. That's pretty tits actually." She looked around and yawned.
-
Vess sighed. He could only find twenty five of the cartridges, no matter how hard he tried... God he needed to get a brass catcher. Once he was confident he had checked every inch of the tunnel, he headed back towards the light. He was pretty sure it was a camp by now.
-
Ray felt himself falling asleep, but was awoken by Ronnie. "Hey, some yahoo's shooting about, I'm gonna go have a chat." Ray nodded groggily, and went back to sleep. Ronnie put on all of his body armor, covering his shins and forearms, as well as his torso, and neck. He jumped into the rail system, and called out. "Hello!? We aren't looking for trouble."
-
Dannie curled up in a spot on the floor and tried sleeping. Every so often, she was jolted awake by an image that flashed behind her eyelids.
-
"Hello?" Vess called out. "There's some mutants or some shit down in these tunnels! Had to shoot em!"
Vess was Dressed in his tactical gear, a black plate carrier with shoulder pads, kneepads and elbow pads. He had his m-50 gasmask below a tactical FAST helmet, And a thick, Kevlar infused black BDU under all of this.

(Sorry I wasn't posting my phone was being a tard..)
*zaida was away from the others not wanting to meet anyone. Jax rested his head on her lap as he slept peacefully while she pets his head to comfort him since he was dramatized in the tsunami*
-
After a while, Dannie gasped awake. She looked around frantically before she remembered all that happened the day before. She sighed, sitting up and hugging her knees to her chest.
-
Ray awoke, and smiled at Dannie. "Hey, you alright?"
-
((Okay, what happened to Vess? Where would he be?
-
Dannie smiled and nodded. "Yes, I'm fine." She looked around for moment. "W-where's Ronnie? Or is he not even up yet?"
-
Ray shrugged. "He's still asleep. He does that a lot." He looked at the shack, and shook his head slightly. "Poor guy." Ray stood, and stretched. "Hows'a'bout breakfast?"
-
Dannie shook her head. "No thank you. I... I won't be able to keep ot down."
-
Ray blinked. "Oh...I'm sorry. I wish I could do something for you." He offered a smile.
-
Dannie stood. "No. It's fine. How do I get outta here?"
-
Vess sighed, climbing out of the metro, his Kalashnikov gripped in his hands, his mask obscuring his face.
-
Ray shrugged. "You can go through the metro, or back up the bus. But, I think that fog is still around, so I'd take the metro. Even then, the metros pose their own problems."
-
(Sorry I wasn't posting my phone was being a tard..)
*zaida was away from the others not wanting to meet anyone. Jax rested his head on her lap as he slept peacefully while she pets his head to comfort him since he was dramatized in the tsunami*
*He rests on a bus,sun bathing like a snake*"aahh...summer.."
-
*she looked up at the sky and used her paw to block the sun from her eyes. She then looks back at jax petting him while he slept peacefully* "i miss when acension wasn't like this.." *she says in a whisper to avoid waking jax*
-
*He gets up and puts his shirt back on before jumping next to zaida*"Well...there is a air port with some plane left..."
-
*she nods* "I've tried to go there I was nearly killed by a group of Furries ...we would need more people to take them.." *she says worriedly* "that's why I was so beaten up.."
-
Dannie shook her head. "Too complicated." She huffed and sat. "I'm just gonna sit here and think about... stuff." Dannie shrugged and closed her eyes.
-
*he smiles at her*"Atleast youre with family right?"
-
*she gives a small smile* "yea. That's a good point." *she kisses his cheek then looks around the city* "were are we going to stay... I heard the some dude said something about some fog or mist stuff that was bad and I don't think we should bother them..."
-
*He kisses her back before thinking*"Maybe our house is still standing?"
-
*she looks at him* "well we have to find out one way.." *she stood and picked up jax*
*jax opened his eyes tiredly and rested his head on zaida's shoulder while looking at the building behind her* "where are we going mom?" *he asked*
Zaida:"shh just sleep.." *she looks at zero and nods* "you lead the way."
-
*He swims with zaida on his back before making it to her, still standing house*
-
*she hops off and feels the street in the water. She then walks as the water went up to her chest. She enters the house that had some damage to it* "damn that tsunami f*cked things up.." *she says walking around the house and sets jax on the bed that was upstairs*
-
*He picks up some items and looks in the food lined fridge*
-
*zaida walks back down stairs* "anything useful?" *she asked as she looked around in the living room*
-
"Only food drink and ice..."*He looks at her worriedly*"you look like shit..."
-
"Yea... I feel like shit too.." *she chuckles weakly and sat down leaning against a wall*
-
*He picks her up and takes her to te bed, which he lays her down on,he covers her in the blankets and says*"Get some rest love..."
-
*she sighed and looks at him* "are you sure?...." *she says tiredly*
-
"Ssssh"*He kisses her forehead*"just get some sleep"
-
*she smiled at him and closed her eyes and before long she fell asleep.*
-
Ray looked at Dannie, and offered a smile. "I'll take you to a safe haven above ground, if you want."
-
*He sits in the living room and turns on the tv...he watches a few tapes..*
-
Dannie shook her head. "No, I'm fine. Really." She pushed her hair from her face. "So... how long has this been going on?"
-
Ray shrugged. "Dunno. A year, maybe two."
-
Dannie sighed and laid down on the floor with her hooves close to her. "So, what now?"
-
Ray shrugged. "Well, we could go scavenging. Maybe do a little recon."
-
Dannie shrugged and stood. "Could we? I'd like to get out of here."
-
Ray nodded. "Sure thing." He scrabbled down a note, and placed it on the shack. Ray then offered a pack to Dannie. "There's a gas-mask, a flashlight, some glowsticks, and a map."
-
Dannie took it with another nod and sighed, zipping up her sweatshirt.
-
Ray smiled at Dannie, and placed a paw on her shoulder. "You alright?"
-
Dannie jumped at Ray's touch and moved back. "Don't touch me!"
-
Ray raised his paws, and smiled apologetically. "Whoa whoa whoa! Sorry."
-
*jax had a night terror making him stand up and ran in fear with his eyes closed. He cried and fell out of his window into the shallow water in the street running frantically not knowing where he was running. Before long he looked around him realizing he was lost, he panic looking around him* "mom?! Dad?!"
-
Dannie held her shoulder and glared at him for a moment before she took a deep breath. "Don't touch me." She growled again. "L-let's go."
-
Ray nodded, and motioned towards the bus.
-
Dannie hugged herself as she walked, letting her eyes scan her surroundings. "Uh... I wanna go home. Wherever that is."
-
*jax pulled a small pistol out of his pocket and looked around shaking in fear as he aimed the gun while slowly walking as it got darker.* "no such things as monster... I'm just lost and mom and dad will find me.." *he whispered to himself*
-
Ray nodded. "Alright. Well, do you have any ID on you? Maybe a room key?" He pulled his mask on, and continued up the bus.
-
*He runs to jax but gets pulled into some shallow water by a crocodile*
-
"I don't have a home. Or at least I don't think I do." She shrugged.
-
*jax hears a loud splash making him scream. He sees only a tail of a crocodile come out of the water and shoots missing it but shoots it twice.*
*zaida woke up hearing gun shots making her jump out of bed. She goes to jax's room not seeing him she quickly ran out of the house.* "JAX!! ZERO!!"
-
*IT takes a hold of his head and spins extremley quickly,he tries to stab it but gets his necks cut, slit and gashed*
-
Ray offered a slight smile. "Well, I guess you can stay with me and Ronnie, if you want." He pushed the canoe out, and motioned for Dannie to get in.
-
Dannie hopped in on light hooves and sat. "R-really?"
-
Ray stood in the canoe, and rowed along, like a gondolier. "Sure, we're open for any survivors."
-
Dannie sat back and watched Ray. Her head began to pound and she cringed, squeezing her eyes shut.
-
*jax saw the crocodiles head and aimed carefully taking a deep breathe and shot the crocodile*
*zaida heard the last gunshot then saw jax and zero* "jesus Christ!" *she ran towards zero as he bled.*
*jax watched scared*
-
Ray reached into his pocket, and tossed a bottle of painkillers to Dannie. "Take those, if you're feeling ill."
-
Dannie nodded and took a few. She looked out onto the dirty looking water and cringed. "I wish I could remember what this place was like before..."
-
*Oil fills the water as zero floats face down in the river*
-
*zaida helped zero up and slapped his face lightly* "zero come on wake up.." *she gestures for jax to come and help. When he does they help him to higher ground and set him on dry land.* "oh god... Okay... We got to do something.. Quickly think jax have you seen a health kit anything that would help?!"
-
*He face is badly torn open, his skull can be see from some points on the skin, his neck is also in bad shape*
-
Ray motioned at his pack, as his respirator hissed. "I've collected a few photos of the world before." He smiled. "If you want to see it?"
-
*she looks at his face and neck* "I should have never slept..." *she looks at jax* "okay jax I know your scared but I have to get something or someone to help your dad okay.." *she got up and ran off looking for help*
*jax hugged his dad* "you'll be ok dad..." *he holds his pistol guarding his dad*
-
Dannie smiled brightly at Ray. "L-later. I don't trust myself out here with pictures and water." She giggled.
-
Ray winked. "Alright. Just remind me later, a'ight?"
-
*He twitches a bit before slowly going limp*
-
Dannie nodded. As she continued looking out, something caught her eye and she jumped enough to flip over the canoe.
-
Ray yelped, as he fell from the canoe. He fought for the surface, and pulled his mask off. "Miss!? Where are you!?"
-
Dannie struggled to stay up above the surface. "Gah!"
-
Ray swam over to Dannie, and pulled her to the overturned boat. He pulled her up onto it, and panted, trying to catch his breath.
-
The back Dannie's head bled and she cried.
-
Ray panted, and pushed the canoe backed to the bus. He sat on the bus, and pulled Dannie up inside. After a few moments, he began bandaging her head.
-
*zaida continued to run. She arrived at a hospital looking through the rooms.*
*jax shook him.* "please dad wake up!!"
-
Dannie continued to cry. "Ray, where are we?!"
-
**He seems unresponsive, his cold body getting even colder*
-
Ray smiled, as he finished. "Back in the bus, Dannie. We're safe."
-
Dannie furrowed her brow. "Bus? What the hell are you talking about?"
-
Ray blinked. "T-The...the bus to the metro? Back home?"
-
Dannie raised a brow. "Where are the twins?"
-
*zaida found a small health kit and ran out of the hospital back to zero and jax. When she arrived she began to work. Jax walked around worriedly*
-
Ray furrowed his brow. "Twins? What twins?"
-
*His heart doesnt beat,he breaths hevily and coughs*
-
"Our twins!" She snapped.
-
Ray blinked. "I just met you today, miss."
-
Dannie's face screwed up with anger. "Don't play games Rayleonarde. Juka and con. Where are they?"
-
"Dannie? How...How do you know my kids names?" Ray looked at her, confused.
-
((Summary guys?
-
Dannie raised a brow. "Dannie? I'm Acon, Ray." She took his face into her paws. "Are you feeling ok?'
-
((Well, Ray and Ronnie have created several safe havens in the metros, and are helping survivors. I'm not sure what Gaia and Jacob are doing, but Ray and Dannie (now Acon, if I read it right) are sitting in a bus, which leads to the metros.))
Ray shook his head, and wiped his eyes. "I...I don't like what your doing, Dannie. P-Please stop."
-
Dannie huffed and furrowed her brow. "Ray... it's me. W-what... why are you acting like you don't know me?!"
-
Ray sobbed. "D-Dannie...p-please." He shook his head, and covered his eyes. "I...I don't know w-what kind of j-joke y-your playing...b-but p-please."
-
Dannie felt hot tears well in her eyes. "Ray... you have to believe me!" She looked around frantically for something she could use to make him see.
-
Vess sighed, looting through a grocery store, cans strewn all over the place. Most of them were busted open and rotted, but he found a few cans of various useful foods, and he shoved them into his backpack, along with various other survival implements. As the smell intensified, he slipped on his gasmask, searching through the back of the store with a flashlight. He was pretty sure none of the light bled out through the back room, but he had been wrong before.
-
*zaida was done.* "we can only hope.." *she helped him up into the house as jax followed. She sat him on the bed and put the blanket* "okay jax leave him be.. We don't know if he'll be alright but if something does happen I don't want you to see.." *jax nodded and left.*
-
Ray closed his eyes, and turned away. "D-Dannie."
-
Dannie stood and pulled the waistband of her jeans down to reveal the small tattoo that read 'The Coon!' "Ray, please..."
-
Ray turned, and gasped. He blinked, and looked Dannie in the eyes. "A-Acon...?"
-
Dannie nodded and crossed her arms. "Yeah, now that you've gotten a good look at my rear..."
-
Ray shook his head. "B-But...y-you died...? I...I went to your funeral..."
-
Dannie rolled her eyes. "You know, that's real cute.... all these games, but I would love to know where my children are."
-
Vess removed a map from his bag, and marked where he was with a red pen. He rolled the map up, slipped it into a pocket on his vest, and left the store with his rifle in hand.
-
Ray gasped, and embraced Dannie, sobbing wretchedly.
-
Dannie smiled and hugged Ray with warm arms. "What's wrong, Ray?"
-
Ray spoke in broken sobs. "I though...I...I missed...Oh...Acon!"
-
Dannie nuzzled Ray's cheek. "Where did I go?"
-
"You...You died. I don't...know what happened." Ray held Dannie closer.
-
Acon raised a brow. "I... I died? When?"
-
Ray nodded. "Y-Yes. A few years ago." He wiped his eyes. "I don't know how...or why, but you did."
-
Acon sighed and tried to go through her memories. She then looked around and gasped. "OH MY GOD! What happened?!"
-
"A few months after you died. Everything went to hell, Acon..." Ray looked at his tattooed arm, and sighed. "A-And...I-I think..."
-
Acon ran her paw over Ray's arm. "And...?'
-
Ray sniffed. "I...might have had a paw in it..."
-
Acon sighed. "Oh wonderful. So... the girls? They aren't... are they?"
-
Ray shook his head. "No. I sent them with Jayce, who bought seats on some government savior boat or something."
-
Acon nodded and sighed. "Thank god! So... who else survived?"
-
"Ronnie, Mag, Lucy, Satan...Jayce, Frank...their whole family. Erm...Ronnie, Maurice, Jefferson...Um...Magnolia's around somewhere, I think. So is Rayleonarde, probably. Either that, or they're somewhere in Europe." Ray looked Acon up and down. "I've missed you so much."
-
Acon sighed and nodded at each name. She hugged Ray and smiled warmly. "I-I know." She thought a moment. "Where are you living?"
-
"Metro. Just below us, in fact." Ray motioned towards the rear of the bus.
-
Acon nodded and wiped her eyes. "Can... can we go? I'm tired and I think I swallowed part of a car tire."
-
Ray nodded, and started down the bus. He held the back door open, and smiled at Acon.
-
She walked through the door and looked around. "Huh. How'd you find this place?"
-
"We came down here once." Ray moved a piece of cloth, revealing his, Acon's, and the twins' pawprints in the concrete. "They never cleaned it up...that's why I chose to set up here." He smiled sadly. "I miss them." Ray ran his paw on the twins' prints.
-
*zaida sat in jax's room comforting him* "please jax... I know this is hard jax but times are hard and all we can do is just wait alright.." *she kisses his head as he sniffled*
-
Acon walked closer to the sets of prints and furrowed her brow.
-
Ray blinked. "What's wrong?"
-
Acon shook her head. "N-nothing. Let's just go."
-
Ray nodded. "Alright. If you want to, I've got food and stuff back home."
-
Acon sighed and covered her eyes. "I need to lay down."
-
Ray nodded, and started towards his hovel. He offered a paw to Acon.
-
Acon took Ray's paw and followed close behind him as they moved. "So... Did Ronnie high tail it outta here too?"
-
"No. He helped me build this place." Ray stepped into the firelight, and Ronnie called out. "Hey, you two got back fast." Ronnie had a cigarette between his lips, as he spoke.
-
Acon smiled when she saw Ronnie. "Ronnie!"
-
Ronnie nodded. "Dannie. How are you? I see you took a spill."
-
Acon let her smile drop a moment before she remembered Ronnie may think she was someone else as well. "Yeah. i... it was an accident."
-
"Don't go dying over something silly, Dannie. We need all the paws we can get." Ronnie scooted a chair towards her, and motioned for her to sit. Ray pulled up his own chair, and sat by the fire.
-
Acon sighed and sat. "Thank you." She crossed her legs up on the chair. "How have you been, Ronnie?"
-
Ronnie chuckled. "Just...surviving." He waved his cigarette around.
-
Acon sighed. "I see." She kept her gaze on Ronnie, noticing he seemed a bit... sad?
-
Ronnie smiled at Dannie. "You want some food? We've still got some food left. Ray, we'll have to scavenge at some point soon." Ray nodded, and pulled out a heavily marked map.
-
Acon shook her head. "I'm not hungry. But thank you." She thought a moment before she closed her eyes and turned up her nose. "Oh, and for future reference, my name isn't Dannie."
-
Ronnie leaned forward, obviously perturbed. "Oh, really?"
-
Acon smiled and nodded, her eyes still closed. "Yup." Her eyes snapped open and she looked back at Ronnie with a face of stone. "I'm Acon."
-
Ray looked at Acon, in shock. Ronnie hung his head low, and chuckled. "That's cute, that really is." He looked at Ray. "I thought we said that we'd keep her name out of this, Ray." Ronnie wiped his eyes, and looked at Acon. "Is this some kind of joke?"
-
Acon bristled and stood. She stomped up to Ronnie and looked at him with white hot fury. "Does it look like joking, d**k head?!"
-
Ronnie raised an eyebrow. "I suppose not, but I know you aren't Acon. I was at her funeral...Hell, I lowered her into the ground." He sighed. "Just...don't start this. Please." Ronnie started towards his shack. Ray stood, and pulled Acon to the side. He spoke just above a whisper. "Are you crazy!? Ronnie's a ticking time bomb!"
-
Acon stared in disbelief after Ronnie and tried to calm herself. "I guess I am." She yanked her arm from Ray's grasp and began to follow.
-
Ray stared in disbelief, and sat on one of the chairs around the fire. Ronnie walked into his shack, and sat on his bed. He shook his head, and spoke quietly to himself. "Crazy b*tch. Thinks she can just...show up, and pretend to be her? God damn."
-
Acon ran in after Ronnie and tackled him, biting his face, but wasn't using her teeth.
-
Ronnie sighed, and spun quickly. He pinned Acon to the bed with a massive paw, the other on the hilt of his knife. "You have thirty seconds to explain yourself." Ronnie's eyes were red, and bloodshot. His face had wet spots, just under his eyes.
-
Acon looked up at Ronnie with raised brow. "And if I don't?"
-
Ronnie sighed. "I'll...I'll...I..." He released Acon, and shook his head. "I'm sorry. You...you just...touched a raw nerve." Ronnie pointed at the entrance. "Please get out. Or explain how you know her name."
-
Acon sighed and shifted from foot to foot. "I know her name because I am her!" She sighed. "Do want me to just bang out random facts or something?"
-
Ronnie shrugged. "Whatever you think will convince me."
-
Acon sighed and thought for a moment. "Uh... f**k." She racked her brain for a good one, but they all sounded like something you could just read off the internet.
-
Ronnie shook his head. "Not very convincing, Dannie. You'll have to try better than that." He sighed, and sat. "But go ahead, take your time."
-
She shrugged and ran her paw through her hair. "I don't know. Do you remember my turtle, Bob. You stepped on him and killed him like the evil mastermind you are." She spat.
-
Ronnie shrugged. "Sounds familiar, but still not convincing." Ray poked his head in, and whispered at Acon. "What about the gang thing we did?"
-
Acon raised a brow. "Gang thing?" She mouthed, screwing up her face.
-
Ray mouthed. "Remember? I got put in a sack? Ronnie burned a bunch of bikes? And you nearly got...?" Ray retreated from the doorway, when Ronnie glared at him.
-
Acon threw back her head and laughed. "Oh~! When I said I wanted to get chased by a pack of angry gorillas."
-
Ronnie blinked. "W-What? W-When and where?"
-
Acon wiped her eyes. "I remember! I was almost raped that night. That dude was scary. It was at this bar somewhere, I don't remember." She thought. "I also accidentally lets Ray on the roof that night."
-
Ronnie swayed, and sat on his bed. "N-No...n-no way..." He looked at Acon, and smiled weakly. "Y-You're...Y-You're serious...?"
-
Acon nodded. "Yeah... I am." She crossed her arms and let her little tain sway as she looked at Ronnie.
-
Ronnie blinked, and laughed slightly, before he collapsed, unconscious. Ray walked in, and chuckled. "Poor guy, your death took a lot out of him." He smiled at Acon. "Come on, he needs time." Ray set out several sleeping bags, and crawled into one. He fell asleep quickly.
-
Acon sat on top of hers and watched Ray with a smile. After a while, she fell asleep, curled up into a ball.
-
Acon woke up after a bit and yawned, rubbing sleep from her eyes.
-
Ray awoke, and rubbed his face. He stretched, and smiled at Acon.
-
"Morning!" She chipped. Acon crossed her legs and faced Ray with a warm smile.
-
"Morning." Ray looked around, and stared at the supply stockpile. "Well...today's scavenging day." He stood, and checked his gas mask. "What is today, do you reckon?"
-
Acon shrugged. "I don't know. But... scavenging day?"
-
"Today's the day we go and get supplies. I just wanted to know what day it was. Thursdays are the worst." Ray grabbed his pack, and hitched it onto his back. "You wanna come with?"
-
Acon shook her head. "I better not. My head still really hurts." She rubbed it.
-
Ray stepped up to Acon, and put a pill bottle in her paw. "Take those, once every two hours. You'll feel better." He smiled, and started towards the bus. "We missed you, A."
-
Acon opened the bottle and dumped half of it into her mouth. "Yeah?"
-
Vess sighed, whistling the tune to an old song that he liked. He had memorized the lyrics, but he hasn't heard the song since his batteries died about a month ago. So, he sang it from memory, wandering the tunnels aimlessly.
-
Ronnie stepped from the shack, and blinked. He seemed lost, as he wandered about.
-
Acon turned a warm smile to Ronnie. "Hey! What's wrong?"
-
Ronnie looked at Acon. "I...I..." He shook his head, and sat.
-
Acon crawled up to Ronnie and placed her paws on his knee.
-
Ronnie sighed. "I'm...I'm glad your back, Acon."
-
Acon let her ears drop. "You don't seem too happy. Actually, you seem more sick than anything." She reached up and pulled Ronnie into a hug.
-
Ronnie sniffed, and pulled Acon close. "I missed you, A. I really did."
-
Acon smiled. "Yeah?" She sighed and buried her nose into his shoulder.
-
Ronnie broke down, and wept openly.
Ray rowed about on his canoe, his respirator clicking quietly. He stopped at a relatively untouched church, and stood at the door. Ray froze, as a loud bellow rang from inside.
-
Vess sighed, wading around in some deep swamp. There was a Chruch off in the distance, ad he was using a stick to make sure he didn't fall an drown. He nearly dropped the stick when he heard a loud bellow from the church.
-
Ray stepped back, and drew his rifle; an amalgamation of a Kalashnikov and an M16. He continued walking backwards, as another bellow rang out.
-
*jax didn't want to be useless and decided to venture out and find something or someone to help hi dad. Zaida sat in the other room thinking worriedly what to do. Jax swam through the water holding the small pistol over his head avoid getting it wet he then stopped hearing something at the church that was a long distance ahead of him* "people.." *he said with hope*
-
Vess saw a man in a boat, and shouted "hey, Mind helping a guy escape from a monster?"
-
Acon tightened her arms around Ronnie, trying to sooth him. "Ronnie... please don't cry." She didn't know what to do; she'd never seen him express this much emotion.
-
Ronnie sniffed, and cleared his throat. "S-Sorry...I just..." He stepped back, smiled, and wiped his eyes.
Ray motioned for silence, and for Vess to move closer. He looked around, and stared at the church. The sound of meat hitting wood resounded from the doors, as they buckled slightly.
-
Acon shook her head. "No, no! It's ok. I never realized I meant that much to you guys." She shrugged.
-
Ronnie chuckled. "You meant a lot. You kept Ray sane, and kept me from going back to...w-well, we won't talk about it."
-
Acon shrugged. "Fair enough." She stepped forward and wrapped her arms around Ronnie's waist.
-
Vess' eyes visibly widened as he quickened his pace, walking to ray as fast as he could without falling into the mud. He could swim, just not with all of his gear on. His Kalashnikov could survive the water. It was a Kalashnikov. But he can't survive being dumped in water.
-
*jax swam but with struggle until touching some land beneath him. He looked around hearing a low growl.* "who's there I have a gun and I'll shoot!" *he yelled out loud with a warning*
-
Ray blinked, and hopped into the canoe, motioning for Vess to follow. "We...don't have the firepower for this." He whispered, as he watched the door intently.
Ronnie smiled. "Just came back from the land of the dead, and already working your magic." He chuckled, and kissed Acon's nose.
-
Acon giggled and let out a sigh. "Yeah, yeah. You love it, though."
-
Ronnie grinned. "Guilty as charged."
Ray pulled Vess into the canoe, and began to row away, quietly. The door splintered, as another massive blow struck the inside.
-
Acon leg go of Ronnie and sat. "So... what have you and Ray been doing in my absence?"
-
Ronnie shrugged. "Surviving, building safe havens, shooting random ass creatures that decided to pop up." He sighed.
-
Acon rolled her eyes. "No gripping tales of romance, heartbreak and betrayal?" She laughed, leaning back in her seat.
-
Ronnie shrugged. "W-Well...Mag was pretty upset."
-
Acon let her ears drop. "Y-yeah. I figured that much."
-
*he saw in the distance a black figure go into the water swimming slowly toward him* "oh no.." *he swam quicker* "monsters.. Aren't real, monsters aren't real!!"
-
Ronnie nodded. "W-We...we had to sedate her to get her on the boat..."
-
Acon sighed and covered her eyes. "Stop. I don't... wanna talk about her anymore."
-
"Sorry." Ronnie motioned at his shack. "I've got some...well...various alcoholic beverages, if you're interested."
-
Acon's face lit up. "Yes, please! I need some booze and was kind of afraid it might all be gone."
-
Ronnie patted Acon lightly on the cheek. "Why would I let that happen?" He chuckled, and looped an arm around her waist, before walking towards the shack.
Ray flinched, as some giant winged creature burst forth from the church. He began rowing faster, still trying to keep quiet.
-
Acon giggled. "You're too good to me." She walked alongside Ronnie.
-
Ronnie chuckled. "Always gotta look out for my girl." He winked, and pulled the curtain aside. Ronnie then walked to a mini-fridge, and spoke. "What do you want?"
-
"Something strong. Please." She sat in the bed and sighed, looking about.
-
*jax swam for his life and finally made a loud yell* "HELP!! MONSTER!!" *he gets pulled in.. When he was in the water he kicked the beast and held on to a broken light pole avoiding to get pulled deeper in*
-
Ronnie nodded, and whistled idly to himself, as he dug in the fridge. After a few moments, he withdrew a bottle of 7 Year's Drink, a very potent whiskey. He smiled, and poured it into two glasses. Ronnie handed one to Acon, and smiled. "Think the new bod can handle it?"
Ray rowed frantically, as the winged creature swooped at Jax. It missed the child, but snagged the water monster, pulling it into the sky. The creature bellowed, and flew away. Ray panted, and slowly made his way back to Jax, his respirator clicking like mad. "Y-You...you alright...k-kid?"
-
Acon shrugged. "Only one way to find out." She took a sip and cringed very noticeably. "Ah HO!"
-
Ronnie chuckled. "I'll take that as a no." He nodded. "Better give your kidneys a workout." Ronnie downed his glass quickly. "Mm...good."
-
Acon quickly tossed it back, clenching her teeth as it went down. She coughed and squeezed her eyes shut. "Oh god."
-
*jax continued to stay on the surface with struggle but wanted to be tough like his mom and dad* "y-yea.. I think.." *he sunk in the water for a moment from tiredness before swimming back up* "I... lost..my gun though.."
-
Ronnie chuckled. "Yep. Can't handle it." He sat his glass down, and patted Acon's shoulder. "You gonna be alright?"
Ray hauled Jax into the boat. "What are you doing out here alone?"
-
Acon clutched her chest and nodded. "Yeah... yeah, I'm good." She opened her eyes and looked at Ronnie. "This new form is too light weight. I'm already kinda..." She put her paws up and waved them around her head.
-
*he panted but replied* "I'm trying to help.. my mom and dad, we need stuff so... I was gonna help..." *he nodded*
-
Ronnie chuckled. "Hilarious. Tell me if you're gonna puke."
-
Acon nodded and laid back where she sat. "I might puke though. Be warned, I projectile vomit."
-
Ronnie chuckled, and looped a plastic bag on Acon's ears, covering her mouth. "There, problemo solved."
-
Acon began to laugh, but it was cut short by her drowning in her own vomit. She quickly turned over and did her business over the edge of the bed.
-
Ronnie patted her back. "Just let it all out."
-
When Acon finished losing what seemed like two days worth of food, she sat up and wiped her mouth. "Can I have some water... please."
-
Ronnie grabbed a bottle of water, and handed it to Acon. "There you go."
-
Acon took the water and poured a bit in her mouth, swished it around, and spit it into the bag. She moved to lay down on the bed and sighed. "That sucked."
-
Ronnie chuckled. "First time always is." He sat at the foot of the bed. "I'll be right here for you."
-
Acon curled up and looked at Ronnie with a pout. "Too far away!" She whined like a child.
-
Ronnie moved up beside Acon, and smiled. "This better?"
-
Acon gave Ronnie a bright smile and climbed into his lap. "Yup!" She curled into a ball. "So..."
-
Ronnie raised an eyebrow. "So...what?"
-
"So, what do you usually do on a night like this?" She asked.
-
Ronnie shrugged. "I usually sit, and sleep."
Ray pulled the canoe up to the bus, and helped Vess and Jax into the it. "Let's get inside, before that damn thing comes back."
-
Acon raised a brow. "That's it?" She sat up and took Ronnie's cheeks into her both her paws. "You really did miss me didn't you? Ronnie, that's not like you at all."
-
Ronnie nodded. "Yeah...I couldn't bring myself to do anything."
-
"What was that... WAS IT A MONSTER!?" *he asked excitedly and curiously*
-
Acon furrowed her brow and let her ears fall. "I'm sorry."
-
Ray nodded, "Yes, they've been popping up for a while now." He pulled the two into the metro. "Stay here 'till he goes back home."
Ronnie shrugged. "It's not your fault."
-
"I can't stay here I gotta help my dad!" *he pouts* "I hafta!"
-
Acon leaned up and kissed Ronnie passionately for a bit. When she pulled away, she stood. "I... I can't help but feel like it is... somehow."
-
Ray sighed. "You can if you wish, but if that thing is around...you're done."
Ronnie sighed. "I don't think it was."
-
Acon sighed and kept her eyes glued to her shoes.
-
Ronnie wrapped his arm around Acon, and sighed.
-
*jax sighed* "stupid monsters... I hate them.." *he groans* "well... I need to make a weapon and maybe a suit!!" *he said excitedly from his idea*
-
Acon wrapped her arms around Ronnie's neck.
-
Ronnie chuckled, and offered a smile.
-
Acon returned the smile and leaned down to swipe another kiss.
-
Ronnie delivered a kiss, and smiled. "Man, right to the point, aren't you?"
Ray stepped into the firelight, and spoke up. "Acon? Ronnie? You two around?"
-
Acon bit her lip and nodded. "Always." She hadn't heard Ray, so she leaned down for another.
-
Ronnie delivered another kiss, and held Acon there for a few moments.
Ray stepped into the shack, and promptly stepped out, whistling comically.
-
Acon pulled away for air and her ears twitched. "I-is uh.... is Ray here?"
-
Ronnie shrugged. "Dunno."
Ray sat at the fire, and watched the flames burn low.
-
Acon's breathing had sped up a bit, so she shrugged to catch it before she walked out to find Ray. "H-hey. When did you get back?"
-
Ray chuckled. "A few moments ago."
-
"How was it?" She asked, sitting beside Ray, refusing to look at him.
-
Ray shrugged. "Eh, found out a monster lives in the church."
-
"Ha!" Acon let out a dark laugh.
-
Ray nodded. "It's pretty hilarious. Too bad it'd eat us faster than we could think."
-
Acon shrugged. "Well, what are ya gonna do?" She stood and brushed herself off. "I'm going to bed." She announced.
-
"Wait for the bastard to go home, or try and find something big enough to drop him." Ray smiled. "Have a nice rest, Acon."
-
Acon didn't know if she should run back to Ronnie's room or stay where she was so she just sat on the ground near a corner of the room and curled up.
-
Ray draped a blanket over Acon, and sat back at the fire.
-
"That rifle you've got there..." Vess shook his head, sitting across from ray "it's ugly. Can't decide if it's an AR or an AK."
-
Ray smiled. "It's not for looks, friend. I made it myself." He chuckled. "Fires whatever I put in it, for the most part. Nine mil, forty-five, five-five-six, seven-six-two. Whatever you feed the beast, it'll put down-range."
-
((I'm preeeettty sure that's physically impossible without changing the barrel and the upper receiver ))
-
Acon sat up and rubbed her eyes. She looked from Ray to Vess and laid back down with a groan.
-
Ray chuckled. "You got Seven Year'd, Acon?"
-
Acon nodded from where she was and curled up into a tighter ball. "This body is totally useless."
-
Vess looked over at Acon, smiling "hey there miss!"
-
Acon opened one eye to glare at Vess. "Hi." She said before she covered curled up enough to cover her face with her crossed legs.
-
Ray smiled. "I still have my...skills...I could help." He looked at Vess. "She's not a big fan of strangers."
-
Vess nodded "I see... So, you seen any weird shit recently? I'm talking like mutants and stuff, not including our friend at the church."
-
Acon shook her head, curling and crawling to Ray's feet. There, she hugged hugged his leg, resting her face cheek on his knee.
-
Ray tapped his nose, knowingly. "Some of 'em you don't see." He leaned forward, and looked at Vess through the fire. "You ever see 'em?" Ray patted Acon's shoulder, gently.
-
Vess sighed "hmm... Well, I was at Henson station, ad I saw this heat distortion, like it was really hot... So I threw a bolt at it, and this jet of fire burst we out of the floor!"
-
Acon let her ears drop. "If there f**king monster's in this, I'm giving up. I'm just gonna leg em take me."
-
Ray nodded. "Yeah, but I'm talking...memories." He massaged Acon's shoulder, as he spoke. "Me and Ronnie were wandering the metros...two months back. We were dead silent and suddenly we heard a little kid, crying. So, Ronnie shined his lamp over where the noise was, and some damn shadow kid popped up on the wall. It just...sat there, crying. After a while, it dissipated, and we continued on our way." Ray sighed. "The stones hold too many memories."
-
"Cause that's not creepy as hell." Acon closed her eyes and shivered, holding onto Ray tighter.
-
Vess sighed "should I start calling you khan? Can you speak to the hosts of the metro?"
-
Ray chuckled. "Like, Ghengis Khan? What does that have to do with anything?" He started to lower his head. "And so what if I...may...sometimes...kinda...sorta....talk to them?"
-
"I see dead people." Acon teased.
-
Vess shook his head "you obviously haven't read the book."
-
Ray chuckled at Acon. "I figured that movie's twist, right after the kid said that." He looked at Vess. "What, there's a book on surviving the apocalypse?"
-
Acon shrugged. "I don't know Ray. Are they here? What do they say?" She reached up and pinched his nose.
-
Vess shrugged "metro 2033. I find it has a lot of parallels to our current situation."
-
Ray shrugged. "They're always here. Sometimes they don't show." He sighed. "Besides, they always have the same conversation. It's a memory." Ray looked at Vess. "Huh."
-
Acon cracked a smile. "They sound very... lively."
-
Ray began massaging Acon's other shoulder. "Yep, quite the bunch. Ronnie doesn't like 'em."
-
Acon nodded. "I can only imagine." She closed her eyes.
-
Ray nodded. "Yeah. You wanna keep staying on the floor, or come up here?"
-
Acon looked up and smiled at Ray. "I thought you'd never ask." She climbed up onto Ray's lap and curled up in his arms.
-
Ray chuckled. "I thought Lovien women took what they want."
-
She shrugged. "Usually I do, but I figured you might be tired."
-
Ray chuckled again. "No, I'm running on adrenaline. And now that you're sitting with me? I'm ecstatic."
-
Acon smiled and licked Ray's cheek. "Yeah?"
-
Ray chuckled, and did his best George Thorogood impression. "Oh yeah."
-
Acon laughed and curled up tighter, plucking at the fur on Ray's neck.
-
Ray wrapped his arms around Acon. He chuckled, and his ear twitched in delight.
-
Acon watched Ray's ears and flattened her paw over them. She giggled as they moved. "Aw!"
-
Ray smiled. "What? I've got sensitive ears. So is the back of my head."
-
"I don't know why, but it reminds me of a kitty cat!" Acon giggled. "Makes me over look the fact that raccoons are pure evil."
-
Ray groaned. "Stereotypes! One bad apple spoils the bunch."
-
Acon laughed. "Have you ever had one break into your home? Oh my god. Never again!" She moved her pant leg to show all the little bite scars. "I almost lost my life."
-
Ray sighed. "I guess not. But I'm still not okay with stereotypes."
-
Acon smiled and sat up. "I know. I know." She sighed.
-
Vess shrugged "doesn't help that a large chunk of home invasions are by raccoons."
-
Ray sighed, and rubbed his face. "I just wish that, y'know...we could all live together."
-
"The metro's our home now, isn't i?" He sighed, running a cloth over his Kalashnikov
-
Acon sighed and moved in to kiss Ray passionately.
-
Ray kissed Acon briefly, before answering Vess. "I guess so." He then returned to kissing Acon.
-
*jax continued to wander* "monsters...Hmm I need a weapon... A good one" *he said bravely and began to look for items*
-
Acon sighed and leaned further into it.
-
Vess sighed. Racking the bolt back and forth, cleaning his rifle. He has found a holographic sight, with an appropriate rail mount. He has yet to zero it, so it was not accurate.
-
Acon pulled away for air and whimpered, running a paw through Ray's hair.
-
*Zero wakes up seeing through the slits of the bandages that covered his face*"Uggnnhh..why am i not dead..."
-
*zaida looks around the house frantically* "no no.. Jax where are you!?" *she hears zero groan* "dammit.." *she runs upstairs looking in the room he was in* "oh Uh you feeling better?" *she smiled sheepishly* "have you happened to see.. Jax?"
*jax grabbed scraps of metal and wood and some nails then set them down in a pile organizing them thinking of what he could make*
-
Ray chuckled, and caught Acon's paw. He brought it to his lips, before releasing her.
-
Acon smiled and let out a sigh before she went back to cuddling up to Ray.
-
Ronnie stepped from the shack, carrying a few candles, and a book. "I'm gonna go...do something." He walked into the metro, and lit one of his many candles. It's orange glow danced on the stones, as Ronnie walked.
-
Acon watched Ronnie with a raised brow. "W-where's he going?"
-
Vess stood, trying to get a good look at his book with a pair of binoculars.
-
Ray sighed. "Paying respects. It's...how we've stayed so long. Give something respect, and it'll leave you be." Ray waved Ronnie on, and he continued down the tunnel. Before he reached the end of the platform, Ronnie cupped his paws, and mumbled to himself, holding the candle just above his head.
-
Acon looked at Ray with a an even higher brow. Her eye twitched and she made a face. "Seriously? We don't all have to do that do we?"
-
Ray shook his head. "It's just me and Ronnie." Ray looked at Vess. "Well? You just gonna creep on him, or follow him?"
-
Vess shrugged "I'm gonna follow him." He then proceeded to approach Ronnie, silently.
-
"I hope Ronnie breaks that guy's f**kin neck." She snarled, watching Vess leave.
-
*zaida looks around the house frantically* "no no.. Jax where are you!?" *she hears zero groan* "dammit.." *she runs upstairs looking in the room he was in* "oh Uh you feeling better?" *she smiled sheepishly* "have you happened to see.. Jax?"
*jax grabbed scraps of metal and wood and some nails then set them down in a pile organizing them thinking of what he could make*
"Di...did you lose him?...did you really.."
-
Ronnie stopped, and handed Vess another lit candle. "Take it. Electric lights scare them." His eyes were sunken, as if he was tired.
Ray shook his head. "Not on a vigil. That would make them mad."
-
Acon strained her neck to watch. "Hmm... bumer."
-
*she nods* "yes!" *she fell to her knees with her paws on the side of her head* "I'm horrible I thought I put him to bed then I went to check and and he was gone I looked everywhere but he's not here!" *she yells worriedly*
-
Ray chuckled. "Though, a stranger killing a stranger wouldn't bother them."
-
Vess nodded, taking the light and holding it in his hands, letting his rifle dangle from it's sling "you... Look tired, friend."
-
"I don't like that guy and I'm not entirely sure why." Acon grumbled to herself.
-
Ronnie nodded. "This is the hard part. The children are always the most taxing." He sighed, and turned. "Stay close, make no sound. You'll scare them." Ronnie continued on, muttering quietly. It sounded like a lullaby.
Ray shrugged. "Maybe you hate strangers?"
-
Acon shook her head. "No... well, yeah I do, but I really hate him."
-
"Yes sir mr khan sir," Vess said, staying close and holding the candle close to his chest.
-
Ronnie shot Vess a look, before continuing. After a few hundred yards, he stepped into a service tunnel, and opened the door. The sounds of children playing echoed around the metro, and the candle flames wavered.
-
Acon gave up and turned back to Ray. "Sigh~"
-
Ray raised an eyebrow at Acon. "What?"
-
*jax finally was done and swung the large machete like sword and testing it* "this is good." *he nodded and looked at the church ahead* "I'm not scared I'm not scared.." *he mumbled to himself as he swam closer to the church*
-
Acon shrugged. "Nothing I'm just really bored."
-
Ray shrugged. "We could try and go scavenging."
The church doors swung lazily from broken hinges. The interior of the church was dark, but something was inside.
-
Acon shrugged. "Sure why not?" Acon lifted her leg and let a loud rip.
-
Ray shot out from under Acon, and waved his paw back and forth. "Jesus Christ!"
-
Acon laughed and her paws as well. "That was great."
-
Ray threw his gas mask on. "Come on, before we die from suffocation." He grabbed his bag, and started up the bus.
-
Vess looked around, confused. How the hell were there children, down here? More importantly, why? His mind immediately drew parallels to the children in the pipes of that old Russian book, and he looked around, slightly panicked, but still standing still.
-
Acon sighed and stood. "I'm such a proper lady." She followed close behind Ray.
-
Ronnie patted Vess's shoulder, and walked towards a small circle of chalk. There, he knelt, and set the candle in front of himself. Then, he drew the book from behind him. It read, simply, Bedtime Stories on the front cover. Ronnie cleared his throat, and began to read out loud, quietly. The candle wavered slightly, and grew dim.
Ray chuckled, and opened the bus door. He was met by a horrific fog. Ray pulled the door shut, and looked at Acon. "Get your mask on, we've got a bit of a funk."
-
Acon gasped and began to fan girl. "Puppy!! Ray, open the door!"
-
*jax arrived at the church hearing mumbling and made a snarl making him just look cute and harmless* "WHERE ARE YOU MONSTER!!?" *he yelled in the dark church holding the sword as he shook in fear*
-
A loud, deep snarl echoes around the church, and a massive creature dropped from the roof. It had been covering a large hole in the ceiling, and it's grey hide shined in the sunlight. It looked about, sniffing.
Ray chuckled. "Eff Oh Gee. Fog, not dog. Put that mask on, I'm not losing you again."
-
Vess let out a shaky breath, his knuckles visibly pale as he held the candle. He would run, but he felt that that would make things worse... So he stayed, scared, next to Ronnie.
-
Acon pursed her lips and did as she was told. "Hey, in my defence, I'm still kinda f**ked up."
-
Ronnie watched, as Vess's candle wavered, and nearly burned out. He smiled. "They trust you." Ronnie finished his story, and put out his and Vess's candle. The sounds of children yawning echoed around the small room, and Ronnie pulled Vess out. He pulled the door quietly shut, and rested his head against the door.
Ray nodded. "Right. Just, keep close, and don't go wandering off." He opened the door, and pulled himself onto the bus. Ray lowered his paw, and waited for Acon.
-
Vess sighed, letting out a breath e didn't even know he was holding "that...was creepy, man."
-
Acon grabbed Ray's paw and sighed.
-
Ronnie nodded. "Yep. And now you can do it if you want to." He started walking, rubbing at his eyes.
Ray pulled Acon up to the bus, and smiled. "Well, where should we go?"
-
Acon shrugged. "I honestly don't even know where we are anymore."
-
Ray smiled. "Still Acension. Or...what's left of it. Anyway, we're about a block away from the apartment." He motioned about.
-
Acon nodded. "Oh..."
-
Ray put his arm around Acon's shoulders. "C'mon, we can go hit...I dunno...I think there's a convenience store somewhere." He patted her abdomen lightly. "We'll get your drinking skills back on point."
-
Acon giggled and hugged Ray. "Alright. Where might it be?"
-
Ray shrugged, and hopped off the bus, onto the sidewalk. He held his arms out. "Dunno..." Ray put on his best Jack Skellington impression. "That's the point of the thing...not to know."
-
Acon smiles and jumped into Ray's arms. "You're a wet cheese ball."
-
Ray chuckled, and set Acon down. "Don't even know what that means." He started off down the street, skipping.
-
Acon ran after Ray on loud hooves as she tried to keep up.
-
Ray sighed, and took off his boots. He held them out to Acon. "Put these on."
-
"But now, you don't have shoes." She grabbed Ray's are. "What if you step on something?"
-
*jax was to scared to go in the church and left immediately. He was now sitting on a car looking at the machete he made and sighed* "I wanna be tough too.." *he groaned and his ears went up* "I'll find food some supplies!!. I'll be the hero." *he smiled and jumped into the shallow water walking around as he looked at buildings*
-
Ray shrugged. "I'll just grin and bear it. Better getting cut on the foot, then decapitated."
-
Acon furrowed her brows. "D-precipitated?!"
-
Ray sighed. "Decapitated." He knelt, and started putting his boots on Acon. "As in, no more head."
-
(*decapitated! Damn you auto correct!)
She scowled. "You know what I meant. Why would that happen?"
-
Ray tied the boot tight onto Acon. "Because...there's more than just us out here. That thing in the church...all sorts of whatever." He lifted Acon's other hoof, and began putting the boot on. "It's not good."
-
Acon sighed and nodded. "Oh... okay. I'm sorry."
-
Ray finished with the other boot. "It's not your fault. You haven't been around for a while. Things changed, A. Our kind doesn't run the show anymore."
-
Acon cringed at the idea of no longer being queen bee of Acension. "Yeah..."
-
Ray patted Acon's back. "Yeah, real wake-up call, isn't it?"
-
Acon huffed and narrowed her eyes. "Yeah. This form doesn't help much either."
-
Ray raised his tattooed paw. "I could change you back, but...Y-Yeah, I could."
-
*jax walked into a pharmacy grabbing medicines, bandages, ect. He puts all the items he found in his backpack and wonders around for more items*
-
Acon shook her head. "No. Lulu would shit is she found out I lost my physical form only for an outside family to give it back." She sighed. "She's just way too... eh."
-
Ray chuckled. "Outside the family? You and I have kids! My ancestor married your mother!"
-
Acon pinched the bridge of her nose. "I know! But... you're not a Lovien."
-
Ray blinked. "That's her issue? My name?" He shook his head. "Goodness."
-
Acon shrugged. "A lot of things." She listed them on her fingers. "You're male, you're a Rayleonarde, you're a raccoon, you're the third of something, you're taller than her. The list goes on."
-
Ray sighed. "All changed with a snap of my fingers."
-
Acon turned and hugged him. "Don't. I like you just the way you are. Please, don't."
-
Ray returned the embrace. "Thanks." He smiled. "Let's go hit that store."
-
Acon nodded and released him.
-
Ray smiled, and started off down the street. He didn't notice that only after a few feet, he was leaving crimson splotches on the ground.
-
Acon looked down at Ray's feel and her eyes widened. She looked back up to Ray and furrowed her brows. "That doesn't hurt?"
-
Ray turned, and walked backwards. "What? I'm fine. The ground isn't too bad, actually." He chuckled, and turned back towards the way he was going.
-
Acon stayed silent and averted her eyes in the opposite direction.
-
Ray stepped into a relatively untouched store, and started to rummage. The splotches had grown, from splats to full footprints. Ray seemed neither worse for wear, or none-the-wiser.
-
Acon watched Ray, feeling a bit useless. She shifted from one foot to the other.
-
Ray spotted Acon in a reflective surface. "Y'know, there's probably something over in the medical department. I don't know what you need."
-
Acon nodded and went off to see what she could find.
-
Ray pulled the last of the useful stuff from the shelf. He looked around to find Acon, leaving bloody pawprints wherever he went.
-
Acon walked out to find Ray and smiled at him. "Ready?"
-
Ray nodded, and hitched his pack higher. "You know it. Wanna keep going, or head back?"
-
"Head back." She rubbed her head and moved toward Ray.
-
Ray handed Acon a few painkillers, and started towards the metro. He didn't see his blood trail, as he was watching the skies. "I hope that damn thing doesn't show. Scared me to death."
-
Acon stopped a moment to catch her breath and hold her head.
-
(Alright, my lovelies, I'm going to head in. Night! -3-)
-
((Goodnight!))
Ray saw Acon's predicament, and led her back to the store. He moved shevles in front of the door, and windows. "We'll stay here, till your ready to move, alright?" Ray laid Acon down, and sat in the security office.
-
Vess checked his map... He was in the right place.... Then why was his stash all barricaded up? That probably meant that someone got into it, and still was in it. So he proceeded to remove the barricades silently, intending to kill the f*ckers inside. Or at least scare them off.
-
Acon woke up to find the nose of Spanish mastif exploring her face. She gushed immediately and hugged its massive skull. "RAY, PUPPY!"
-
Ray blinked, and stood. "What?" He rubbed the side of his head, as he plodded out of the office.
-
"Ray, there's a dog!" She squealed, ruffling the animal's fur.
-
Ray spotted Acon, and flinched. "Oh! How...How did it get in here?"
-
Acon shrugged. "I don't know. He was here when I woke up."
-
"Must've been in here before." Ray blinked, and made his way towards Acon, leaving crimson footprints on the floor.
-
Acon passed a worried eye to Ray's feet. "Please take your boots back."
-
Ray raised an eyebrow. "Why? Are they uncomfortable?"
-
Acon's eyes darted from Ray's feet to him. "Uh... yeah."
-
Ray blinked, and looked briefly at his feet. "Oh. I'm okay, Acon. Really, it's not that bad." He smiled, completely oblivious to his rampant bleeding.
-
Acon let her ears drop. "Can we get home at least... so you can dress that."
-
Ray shrugged. "I guess, it's your call. We've got enough for a while."
-
Acon nodded and stood. "Can we keep him?" She gestured to the dog.
-
Ray shrugged. "Sure." He began moving the barricades.
-
Acon followed close behind Ray and the dog trotted a long beside her.
-
"Huh...did it rain last night? Ground's a little wet." Ray shrugged.
-
Acon furrowed her brow. "Maybe it's the massive blood puddles you're leaving around."
-
Ray blinked. "What?" He turned around. "Oh, shit."
-
Acon sighed and took Ray's arm. "Let's go."
-
Ray nodded. "Y-Yeah, l-let's get going."
-
"Are you sure you don't want your boots back?" She pulled him along as quickly as possible.
-
Ray shook his head. "No, I'd rather bleed than have unnecessary noise."
-
Acon pursed her lips. "Sorry."
-
Ray shrugged. "It's fine. There's the bus." He climbed in through the driver side door, and helped Acon through.
-
The dog climbed on shortly after Acon. He sniffed about, his wet nose leaving glossy streaks on the ground as .ge did so.
-
(Too late, if not)
Name:Remulus "Remy" Kreen
Species:Reborn Sorcerer
Gender:Male
Relationship: Divorced
History: Being kidnapped during Ascension. Had his mind erased completely knowing only anger and irritation. Is unknown to himself of being a past sorcerer.
I'm right behind you, working out the size of your dogtag to put it in a frame.
-
Remulus, having been in the bus sleeping was awoken by the survivors. He aimed his pistol intent to kill. He asked heartlessly "What is it that you want aboard this bus? My only possession is this gun."
I'm right behind you, working out the size of your dogtag to put it in a frame.
-
Ray sighed. "Look. We've been moving in and out of this bus for weeks. I don't know how, or why, or even when...but if you need a place to stay, follow me."
-
The dog growled defensively and bared his teeth at the new comer. Acon leaned down and pet him.
-
Ray sighed, and stepped passed the sleeping survivor. He looked back. "Let's get going, before that fog rolls in." Ray started down the metro.
-
Acon and the dog followed close behind Ray.
-
Ray smiled, and grabbed Acon's paw. "How are you feeling?" He scratched the dog lightly, as they walked down the metro.
-
Acon shrugged and smiled warmly at Ray. "Better! My head still kinda hurts, but not as much."
-
"Well, I've got some more painkillers. I'll give you some when we get back." Ray kissed Acon's paw, gently.
-
Acon blushed and averted her eyes to her feet. "Thanks, Ray."
-
Ray smiled. "We gotta take care of each other, Acon. We're family." He continued walking, until the warm glow of the barrel brazier shone on Ray's face.
-
The dog wedged between them, begging for attention with a big dumb smile on his slobbery face.
-
Ray scratched the dog's ear, and sat in a long chair.
-
Acon sighed and looked around. "W-where are we?"
-
Ray shrugged. "Home. I forget the name of the metro station." He sighed, and scratched his head.
-
Acon raised a brow. "Home?" She sat and pet the dog's head.
-
Ray sighed. "Yeah, most of the apartment district either has cobwebs, weird quadpedal bat-creatures, or the shadow people living in them." He grinned slightly, and motioned at a map on the wall. The apartment district had a sign hanging from it, reading Ravenholm. Ray chuckled. "We don't go to Ravenholm."
-
Acon furrowed her brow and shook her head. "I don't know what you're talking about." She sighed. "I'm Dannie, by the way." She held out her paw to shake.
-
Ray blinked, and took Acon's paw, cautiously. "I'm...Ray...?" Shit...what's wrong with her?
-
Acon smiled warmly. "Nice to meet you, Ray!" She looked at the dog and her smile brightened. "And is this your dog?"
-
Ray shook his head. "Found him with you, Dannie."
-
Acon's ears fell. "Y-you... we did? But I don't remember that at all!"
-
Ray nodded. "I think you might've hit your head, and given yourself amnesia." He sighed.
-
Acon nodded, hugging her knees close to her chest. "I'm sorry. I'm probably a brother to you." Acon stood and started to leave.
-
Ray shook his head. "No no, you're fine Dannie. We're all survivors. We gotta stick together, no matter the problems." He motioned at the chair she had been sitting in.
-
Acon hugged herself and sat. She studied the boots on her hooves and scowled at them. "Ugh... when'd I put these on." She reached to undo them and kicked them off."
-
Ray rubbed his brow. This is going to become...problematic, fast. He sighed. "Dannie? Is there anything you can tell me about yourself?"
-
Dannie shrugged. "Um... well... I uh...." she struggled to find little details about herself but failed... miserably. "I-I don't know... remember much."
-
Ray smiled. "Well, now's a great time to restart." He chuckled. Aw hell...I was gonna try and reach the twins on satellite phone or something.
On the colony vessel SS Archimedes, Jayce brought the twins, Juka and Con, a small platter of treats, from the dining area. He nudged the door open, slowly, and spoke quietly. "Girls? Are you awake?"
-
The twins waited around the side of the door, ready to pounce on their uncle when he entered.
Acon shrugged. "Maybe."
-
Jayce's ear twitched, and he opened the door, and dodged the twins. He smiled, and bowed. "You'll have to be faster than that, dearies, if you wanna catch old Uncle Jayce."
Ray sighed, and raised his tattooed arm. "Dannie? Can you tell me what you see in these tattoos?"
-
The twins both landed into a chair, breaking it. Juka stood and brushed herself off. "No fair! You always do that!"
Acon shrugged. "I... I don't... nice tattoos?"
-
Jayce smiled, and set the tray down. "Yes, and you two always do that." He sat on the couch, and motioned at the treats. "As a peace offering, I brought those."
Ray blinked. "O-Oh...mm..." It's like she's gone completely. Better not let Mag know.
((For reference, the rooms on the ship are like decent apartments.))
-
Both twins turned up their noses and munched on their sweets.
Acon eyed Ray for a moment. "What was I supposed to see?"
-
Ray sighed. "Dunno, Rorschach test?"
Jayce chuckled. "So? Is all forgiven, or should I go to the gulag?"
-
Juka narrowed her eyes at Jayce. "We'll let you live booger free for now, uncle." Con jumped in. "But next time you won't be so lucky!"
Acon shook her head. "What language are you speaking?"
-
Ray held his head. "This is going to be difficult."
Jayce chuckled. "But, who will give you treats? They won't let me back on the dining hall if I'm booger'd."
-
The twins looked at each other before they nodded and turned back to Jayce. "Fair enough. You'll remain unboogered."
Acon hung her head. "I'm sorry."
-
Ray looked at Acon, apologetically. "No no, it's not your fault, it's mine."
Jayce dropped onto his knees, and bowed before the twins. "Oh, thank you, your graces!"
-
Acon cringed a moment before she raised a brow at Ray. "Dude, what are you talking about?"
The twins smiled with and stood like royalty. "You are most welcome, uncle."
-
Ray shrugged. "Nothing."
Jayce smiled, and stood. "Alright, so what do the little queens want to do today?"
-
Acon shook her head and smiled. "Okay." She looked around before she looked back at Ray and smiled again. "When did we get back?"
The twins looked at each other and shrugged. "Don't know. What is there to do?"
-
Ray blinked. "W-What?"
Jayce shrugged. "There's a pamphlet right there." He motioned to a pamphlet on the bed.
-
Acon rolled her eyes. "When did we get back?"
Juka scowled. "Eww. Screw your pamphlet!" She grabbed Con and bolted out the door to cause trouble.
-
Ray blinked. "A-Acon?"
Jayce took a few steps, before stopping just outside the apartment. "Don't go overboard!" He stepped back into the room, and flopped down on his bed.
-
Acon leaned forward made a rude gesture with her paw on her chest. "Ray. Yes, dip f**k? What's wrong with you?"
-
Ray scowled. "You just relapsed to Dannie."
-
Acon turned up her nose and scoffed. "Whaaaat?" She stood and crossed her arms. "When?"
-
Ray pinched the bridge of his nose. "What do you remember last?"
-
Acon shrugged. "I remember you telling me something about being family and sticking together or some shit."
-
Ray sighed. "From then to a few seconds ago. That's when you were Dannie."
-
Acon nodded. "Oh~. Okay." She sat back down. "So how have you been?" She giggled.
-
Ray sighed. "Worried."
-
Acon sighed. "Oh... sorry about that." She crossed her legs under her and sighed. "Where's Ronnie been? He hasn't come out yep?"
-
Ray shrugged. "Dunno, but you know what they say...speak of the Devil, and he shall appear." Just then, Ronnie rounded the corner of the metro tunnel. "You rang?" Ray stood. "I'll leave you two to it, then." He walked into the shack, and laid down, thinking. Ronnie took Ray's chair. "What was that about?"
-
Acon shrugged. "Hell if I know." She sighed and turned a smile to Ronnie. "How was your day?"
-
Ronnie shrugged. "Eh, I found an accordion."
-
Acon smiled. "That's tits." She brought her knees to her chest and smiled brightly. "Ronnie, we rarely have a real conversation."
-
Ronnie nodded. "Alright, well...how's the apocalypse?"
-
Acon lowered her ears. "I feel like that's the type of question people ask as warming to back off." She smoothed her fur. "So... I will do just that. Sorry for... whatever I did."
-
Ronnie shook his head. "I didn't mean to be standoffish. It was a legitimate question...I'm bad with small talk, sorry." He smiled apologetically, and moved towards Acon.
-
Acon smiled back and nodded. "I-it's fine." She shrugged. "I honestly don't know what to think about this. I hope my kids are okay and I hope I live long enough to see them again."
-
Ronnie blinked, and held his head. "Oh dear..."
Jayce wandered around the boat, calling out. "Con? Juka? Where'd you go?"
-
Acon raised a brow and reach a paw out to touch Ronnie's arm. "Hey... what's wrong?"
The twins snuck around, successfully undetected.
-
Ronnie chuckled. "We might as well commit suicide. Acon Lovien is worried about dying."
-
Acon laughed and threw one of Ray's boots at him. The dog saw the boot go flying and ran after it, colliding head first with Ronnie.
-
Ronnie ducked the dog, and smiled at Acon. "Dirty trick."
-
Acon pursed her lips. "I thought for sure that would work." The dog brought the boot back and pressed for someone to throw it again.
-
Acon stood and pulled her long curly hair from its pony tail. "So, have anything planned for the night?"
-
Ronnie shrugged. "After drinking? Surviving." He smiled.
-
Acon shrugged. "Sound good to me." She smiled down at her new companion. "What should we name him?"
-
Ronnie shrugged. "Chuck?"
-
Acon shrugged. "Sure, why not. Chuck. I like that." She giggled.
(Alright, my lovely! Ima head in! Nighty night!)
-
Ronnie smiled. "Alright, so we've got Chuck the dog. Now there's no way we can die in the apocalypse."
-
Acon laughed a bit before she went off to curl up in the corner, quickly falling asleep.
-
Ronnie sighed, and relaxed in his chair. He pet Chuck, as he slowly fell asleep.
-
Vess sat in a building with a nice view of the sea. Not the city. If he looks at that for too long, he gets all reminisce-y and depressive. But he did find a solar charger for his MP3 player. So, he plugged it in, and pressed a random song. It was some electro-swing type thin by some British guy. Vess sighed, closed his eyes, as sang along with the music as it echoed faintly through the streets.
-
Ray wandered the streets, trying to figure out a plan of action. "Acon's got some weird memory lapse, Ronnie won't leave that metro because of the shadow-people...and there's someone playing music? Or have I gone mad?"
-
Acon, at some point lastnight, had climbed into Ronnie's lap and woke up like that the following morning.
-
(I've only been gone for a few hours!)
The survivors had already past him. Not caring of their path, he decided it was safest to leave the bus to avoid death. He hopped off the bus and made his way to the woods.
I'm right behind you, working out the size of your dogtag to put it in a frame.

Wandering he came into a clearing with houses in rows. Maybe I can find food and other useful materials. He made his way to the nearest house. The home was painted blue with beige on the stairs and door. As he climbed up the stairs his hands slid along the railing. They felt dusty. This home hasn't been lived in for a while. He entered the home and immediately made for the fridge. He checked the rooms for bags to hold his scavenges and in the hallway closet found a rather large camping backpack.
I'm right behind you, working out the size of your dogtag to put it in a frame.
-
Perfect. He headed to the fridge. He found a banana bunch and unopened pudding. He took the Sprite bottle and 2 water bottles. In the shelves he found a pack of chips and gummy bears. Not wanting to burden himself he decided to leave. As he walked past the homes in one he heard a peculiar noise like a scream. Unconsciously, he walked into the home to see a strange mutant gripping a little wolf's ankle. Her eyes bore into Ruben's pleading for help. Not influenced by her plead he tossed her the gun like it was a toy. She aimed at the mutant and shot multiple times finaaly killing it.
I'm right behind you, working out the size of your dogtag to put it in a frame.
-
"Thank you." She said quietly, close to a whisper and gave Ruben the gun. He started to leave the home but turning around he felt something different and new, guilt. "Would you like to.... follow along?"
I'm right behind you, working out the size of your dogtag to put it in a frame.
-
Acon stood and left, venturing into the rest of the ruined city with Chuck close behind her.
-
Ronnie awoke, and sorting through some of the supplies Ray had brought back.
Ray sat on top of a burned out car, a cigarette between his fingers.
-
Acon saw Ray and smiled. "Hey!"
-
Ray turned, and waved. Hmm...Dannie or Acon? He smiled.
-
Acon stopped before the car and looked around. "What are shadow people?"
-
Ray crossed his legs, and tossed the cigarette to the ground. "They're the manifestation of memories, trapped within the metros, and the earth."
-
Acon sighed. "I mean in English please."
-
Ray smiled. "They're like ghosts. Except they'll kill you outright."
-
Acon climbed out of Ronnie's bed sometime before the sun rose. She held her head and winced. Acon had been feeling sick the past few days with a splitting head ache and kept flip flopping between being Dannie and being Acon. She walked out of the shack and wondered around.
-
Ray walked in as Acon wandered about. He smiled, and waved. "Feeling better?" Ray had dirt and the like splattered across his body, from the several day excursion he was returning from.
-
Acon nodded and smiled brightly at Ray when he entered. "Uh huh! How was your, uh.... thing?"
-
Ray shrugged, and set his pack down. "Eh, the usual. Almost got burned alive, got chased by those weird bat things, crawled through literally three feet of shit. Y'know, the usual."
-
Acon ran up and hugged Ray tight. "Well, I'm glad you're back." She smiles brightly.
-
Ray hugged Acon back. "I'm glad to be back. How's your head?"
-
Acon shrugged. "It still hurts, but not nearly as bad as it did before you left."
-
Ray smiled, and kissed Acon lightly. "It'll all work out."
-
Acon sighed and nodded. "I hope so!"
Con and Juka stood in the corner of their room, ripping the carpet from the floor.
-
Jayce walked into the room, carrying a tray of sweets. He smiled at the girls, and chuckled. "Don't dig too deep, you'll sink the boat." Jayce sat the tray down, and sat on the bed, flipping through the channels on the television.
-
Juka looked up from her task and tossed a questioning look to Jayce. "Uncle, why is this boat hiding coins under our carpet?"
-
Jayce raised an eyebrow. "Coins?"
-
The twins nodded and began taking handfuls of gold coins out from under the floor.
-
Jayce blinked, and covered the hole. He smiled at the girls. "Please don't dig in the room, okay? I don't want thrown off." Jayce kissed both of them on the forehead, quickly, before standing. "Now, come on, we'll go laser tagging or something."
-
The twins scowled. "Eww!" They shuddered at the idea of laser tag. "Let's have a tea party!"
-
Jayce shrugged. "Alright."
-
The Juka dug around in the closet for the China set Acon had given them for their birthday one year. Con grabbed all the dolls and stuffed animals she could carry.
-
Jayce chuckled. "Too cute. Will there enough patrons?"
-
The twins nodded and began to make their way to the dining room.
-
Jayce smiled at the twins, and sighed. Since Acension went to hell, he's kept an eye on the twins. Jayce has found that he's come to love them, as his own.
Ray smiled, and offered Acon a few pain pills. "Here, for your head."
-
Acon nodded and took them. "Thanks!" She sat on the floor with her legs crossed. "Ronnie says I've been switching between Dannie and myself a lot. Is this gonna be a problem?"
-
Ray shrugged. "I don't know. As long as Dannie learns the ropes, it'll be fine."
-
Acon nodded. "Okay." Chuck padded over to Ray and launched his massive body into the air in an attempt to jump into Ray's arms.
-
Ray caught the dog, and smiled. "Chuck! How've ya been, boy?"
-
The giant mastiff barked loudly as his reply, a few gobs of saliva flying from his mouth.
-
Ray chuckled, and set Chuck down. "You big goof."
-
Chuck barked again before he walked to stand over Acon. Without warning, he flopped down onto Acon's head and curled up despite her desperate attempt to get him off.
-
Ray laughed, and tried to move the mastiff. "Chuck, come on, get up."
-
Chuck groaned and rolled over. Gasping for air, Acon sat up quickly. "Son of a b**ch tried to kill me!"
-
Ray chuckled. "I don't think so. He was just loving on you."
-
Acon looked at Ray in horror. "By suffocating me?!"
-
Ray shrugged, and knelt beside the big dog, petting him. "He's biger than he thinks that's all. "
-
Acon scowled and huffed. "Whatever you say."
-
Ray sat beside Acon. "Don't be that way." He wrapped his arm around her, and jostled her shoulder. Ray smiled. "He's just a big goober, wanting to share his love."
-
Acon turned a sly smile to Ray and bat her lashes. "Much like you?"
-
(Huh. I forgot this was here! :3)
-
((Oh jeez!))
Ray smiled, and nodded. "Yep. Just like me." He chuckled. "How's your head?"
-
Acon shrugged. "Better. A throb here and there, but you know."
-
Ray sighed, and smiled. "Oh good. Well...we'll go find you more painkillers."
-
Acon stood and stretched. "We don't have to, Ray. "
-
Ray sighed. "Acon..."
-
Acon frowned and rubbed her arms. "W-what?"
-
Ray sighed. "I don't want you to be uncomfortable."
-
Acon put up her paws and smiled sheepishly. "I-I'm not! You and Ronnie do enough for me, I just... I don't wanna ask for anymore."
-
Ray sighed. "Okay..."
Ronnie returned from his excursion to the shrine, his cheeks a little wet. "It gets harder and harder every time...poor kids..."
-
Acon let her ears falls. "Kids kinda scare me. Things like the shining and stuff like that." She shuddered.
-
Ronnie smiled sadly. "It's different. The Shining twins are scary. But the kids down there...they're just...lost. Maybe I'll take you down there some day?"
-
Acon scrunched up her nose and forced a smile of fake enthusiasm. "Sounds like a plan, Stan."
-
Ronnie sighed. "If it upsets you, I can't. You have to be calm, or they'll get upset."
-
Acon relaxed. "Okay, good." She looked off to the side and fist pumped. "Dodged a bullet on that one, Dannie Young. Good job!"
-
Ronnie shook his head, and walked into his shack. Ray smiled. "Welcome back, Dannie."
-
Acon, now Dannie looked back at Ray and smiled back. "W-where did I go? And what's wrong with Ronnie?"
-
Ray smiled. "Ronnie went to the shrine. He says it's getting harder."
-
Dannie nodded. "Oh... s-sorry."
-
Ray sighed. "No no, you're fine. You didn't know." He thought for a few moments. "Would you like to see the shrine?"
-
Dannie looked at her hooves and shrugged. "I-I guess so."
-
Ray smiled. "Ronnie! Dannie wants to see the shrine."
Ronnie came back out, his cheeks stained. He smiled, and sighed. "Really?"
-
Dannie back up a bit. "Y-yeah?"
-
Ronnie sighed. "If you're not calm, they'll get upset. I know they tried to kill me...I don't know they'll do to you. They might keep you as their mother."
-
Dannie let her ears fall. "M-maybe... A-Acon should take over for that job?"
-
Ronnie sighed, and shook his head. "I lost the other guy who would help. So..."
-
Dannie narrowed her eyes at Ronnie. "Oh I get it. Better I die than Acon? I hope you know we share this body."
-
Ronnie shook his head, and walked into his shack. Ray tapped Dannie's shoulder. "Don't get mad at him. He's upset right now."
-
Dannie turned to Ray and bared her flat teeth.
-
Ray sighed. "Dannie...please. We don't need infighting."
-
Dannie turned away from Ray and went to sit somewhere in the corner. "Whatever."
-
Ray sighed, donned a gasmask, and walked outside. A thick, greenish fog filled the skies, and felt greasy on the fur. Ray sighed, and wandered about.
-
Dannie sighed and hugged her knees to her chest.
-
Ronnie, who had obviously been drowning his sorrows, shuffled out and sat across from Dannie. He sniffed, and looked around. "Wha~ happened t'Ray?"
-
Dannie shrugged, keeping her head down.
-
Ronnie sighed, and offered his bottle of booze to Dannie. "Somethin' upset you?"
-
Dannie took the bottle and shook her head. "What's it to you?"
-
Ronnie smiled. "We gotta stick t'gether. We're a family."
-
Dannie sighed. "No, Acon's your family. I don't even know you."
-
Ronnie gave Dannie a large, toothy grin. "I meant metaphorically. We're a family, trying to survive together."
-
Dannie glared at Ronnie. "I know what you meant." She snapped.
-
Ronnie sighed. "What's got you down, Dannie? I know you think me and Ray prefer Acon over you, but that's absolutely false."
-
Dannie huffed and stood. "I don't care. I don't want anything to do with either of you."
-
(What can do to spice this up?)
-
((I dunno. This thread was left alone for so long...I forgot.))
-
(*sigh* oh well, I guess.)
-
Dannie had left for a bit to clear head. When she car back, Acon took over again. "Oh god. How'd I get outside? I was I out there all by myself?!"
-
Ronnie shrugged. "Depends, you Acon now?"
-
Acon nodded and went to sit in Ronnie's lap. "Yup!"
-
Ronnie smiled. "Good. Dannie's becoming rather upset. Can you talk to her, like Ray and Jayce?"
-
Acon shook her head. "Nope. I mean, not unless I write her a letter for the next time we spaz out."
-
Ronnie shrugged. "Maybe you should, see what her thoughts are? She doesn't like to talk to me, and even Ray's seemed to have ticked her off." He smiled, and offered Acon the bottle he had at his side. "You want a drink?"
-
Acon nodded eagerly. "Yes, please!" She took the bottle and took a large swig.
-
Ronnie chuckled. "Its funny. You're new body can't handle all the booze you want."
-
Acon rolled her eyes. "I know. It's awful!"
-
Ronnie smiled. "I feel bad for you."
-
Acon scowled. "Why don't you... shove a sock in it!"
-
Ronnie chuckled, and pulled another bottle behind him. "How's about booze?" He took a deep drink, and sighed.
-
Acon took the bottle out of Ronnie's paws and downed it.
-
Ronnie sighed, and stood. After a few moments, he returned with several bottles. He sat, and smiled. "I'll play ball."
-
Acon smiled and moved to take a seat on the floor.
-
Ronnie sat beside Acon, and sighed. He drained a bottle, and pushed another one to Acon. "Your turn again."
-
Acon nodded and downed her bottle quickly. "Ima beachu!"
-
Ronnie chuckled. "Say the A-B-C's backwards." He downed another bottle.
-
Acon pursed her lips and laid back. "Why don't you touch your finger to your nose, ya smug basterd!"
-
Ronnie smiled, and balanced a bottle on his nose. "It's still your turn."
-
Acon slapped the bottle off Ronnie's nose. "Blah blah blah!"
-
Ronnie caught the bottle before it hit the floor, and sighed. "You need to calm yourself, girl. Ya gettin' violent."
Ray sat on a burned out Corvette, and sighed. He held a picture of himself, Acon, Juka and Con. Ray shook his head, and looked at the sky.
-
Acon took a bottle and broke the bottom of it off. "What the hell did you just say about my mother?"
-
Ronnie rolled his eyes. "Acon, please. Calm down. No one insulted your mother."
-
Acon narrowed her eyes and stumbled a bit. "I will castrate you, Ralf."
-
Ronnie smirked. "Of course you will, dear." He stood, and quickly took the broken bottle from Acon.
-
Acon hadn't even noticed she'd been disarmed. "I will! And it'll be with my two front teeth!"
-
Ronnie chuckled. "Look at you, vicious little lamb." He smiled, and patted Acon's shoulder, before he sat.
-
Acon stumbled into Ronnie's lap and pouted. "You think I'm kidding." She opened her mouth and took Ronnie's snout into it.
-
Ronnie sighed, and extricated himself from Acon's mouth. "You're really drunk."
-
Acon smiled, giggling loudly. "My breath smells like freshly cut grass!"
-
Ronnie patted Acon's head. "Of course it does."
-
Acon frowned and smacked Ronnie's nose. "Why do you treat me like a baby?!"
-
Ronnie rubbed his nose. "'Cause you're drunk as a skunk."
-
Acon stood up and crossed her arms. "I'm not a baby!"
-
Ronnie sighed, and tipped back another bottle. "I know that."
Ray walked about, unsure of what to do. "Dannie's unstable, Ronnie's becoming more and more attached to the shrine. What am I going to do?"
-
Tears ran down Acon's cheeks. "Listen to me, damn it!" She smacked the bottle from Ronnie's paws.
-
Ronnie raised an eyebrow. "I've been listening. You're not talking."
-
Acon lifted a paw and slapped Ronnie hard across his face before she turned and walked outside.
-
Ronnie rubbed his cheek, and stood. He walked back to the shrine.
Ray sighed, and looked at the photo again.
-
Acon sat on the roof of a car and cried into her paws.
-
Ray's ear twitched, and he spotted someone on the roof of a car. He gripped his crowbar, and started towards the car, shaking a little. "H-Hello?"
-
Acon ignored Ray and continued crying. "I hate him. Why am I even here?!"
-
Ray blinked. "A-Acon? Something wrong?"
-
Acon took off get boot and chucked it at Ray. "What do you think?!"
-
Ray blinked. "W-What's wrong?" He climbed up on the car, and looked at Acon.
-
"Ronnie's a f**king asshole. That's what's wrong." Acon wiped her nose.
-
Ray climbed up closer to Acon, and wrapped an arm around her. "He's just...that shrine...it's doing things to him."
-
Acon sniffled. "I don't wanna be here anymore."
-
Ray shrugged. "I don't know you're going to do."
-
Acon glared at Ray. "I'm tired of being talked to like I don't matter."
-
"You're not important?" Ray sighed. "Fine, fine." He drew a revolver from behind him, and rested it under his chin. "If you leave, I leave."
-
"You're not listening to me!" She yelled.
-
Ray blinked. "You matter to me! Acon, I was literally five minutes from killing myself the day you came back! Not listening? You're not listening to yourself!"
-
"What the hell is that to mean?!" Acon wiped her eyes. "I do too listen to myself!"
-
Ray shook his head. "I don't know why you're so irritable all of the sudden. I love you. You're important to me. And I'm fairly certain I'm important to you. But if you're looking for a way out, I'll be right there with you."
-
Acon snuggled up to Ray and continued to cry. "I... h-had a few... d-drinks."
-
Ray blinked, and holstered his revolver. "O-Oh...I-I've never seen you like this." He wrapped his arms around Acon, and sighed.
-
Acon wiped her nose with Ray's shirt and stuck her thumb in her mouth. "I-I hope... alcohol poisoning k-kills me."
-
Ray sighed, and huddled up with Acon. "If you go, I'll be right with you. I lost you once, I'm not losing you again."
-
Acon squeezed her eyes closed and sniffled some more. "W-what's... u-up with that... s-stupid shrine anyway?"
-
Ray sighed. "It's supposed to keep us safe. I'm not too sure what it does, but...it keeps Ronnie sane...relatively."
-
Acon lifted her head. "What was Ronnie gonna say when I came back? He said that I kept from going back to something, but I never knew what he meant."
-
Ray blinked. "I don't know...the shrine I guess?"
-
Acon furrowed her brow in thought. "That wouldn't make any sense."
-
Ray shrugged. "I honestly didn't understand your question."
-
Acon shook her head. "I really don't wanna go back that far. We're already on page 78." Acon looked around. "Hope we don't get the gas for that."
-
Ray stood suddenly, he clapped, and somewhat yelled. "There it is, ladies and gentlemen! The fourth wall's broken!" He sighed. "Mine says Page 52, anyway."
-
I walk in looking rather peeved and let loose a bunch of gas that makes them forget this ever happened.
-
Ray sighed, and sat back down. He wrapped an arm around Acon. "Sorry, I thought I saw a plane." Ray looked at Acon. "Can we not ever do that again?"
-
Acon raised a brow. "Do what again?'
-
Ray shrugged. "Didn't we run from those nasty little bat-creatures?"
-
Acon shrugged, wiping her eyes. "I don't know. All I remember doing is fighting with Ronnie and asking you a question."
-
Ray shrugged. "I don't know...Ronnie's been crazy upset lately." He sighed. "He feels bad about who he was."
-
"Who was he?" She raised brow.
-
Ray sighed. "Before all of this? Remember? He was ruthless, and killed whoever he wanted."
-
Acon pulled away from Ray and stood. "Oh yeah. That's why he was being a tw** easilier?"
-
Ray shrugged. "Sometimes he forgets? I don't know. I've just let him have his days."
-
Acon scowled. "Not about to treat me like that. Ronnie'd better check himself before he wrecks himself. That's all I'm gonna say, right now."
-
Ray sighed. "Do as you wish. But, if it costs us a home..."
-
"If he kicks us out, we'll move to plan B." Acon stuck her fingers in her mouth and pretended to shoot herself.
-
Ray shrugged. "Sounds like a plan. Though, I'm sure we could overthrow him."
-
Acon smiled. "I'm sure we won't need plan B."
-
Ray nodded. "Of course."
Jayce awoke, having been sleeping in their room on the ship. He yawned, and looked around. "Juka, Con? You guys still here?"
-
Juka and Con looked up from what they were doing and smiled. "Yes, uncle!"
-
Jayce smiled. "What're you two up to, huh?"
-
The twins shook their heads. "Nothing, uncle." Juka gave Con something to hide in her back pocket.
-
Jayce sighed. "What do you have there? Please don't hide things from me?"
-
Juka shrugged. "Whatever do you mean, uncle?"
-
Jayce sighed. "Please. I know Con has something in her back pockets. You handed it to her, Juka. Now please, let me see it. I won't be upset, I promise."
-
The twins passed each other glances. Juka nodded and Con let Jayce see the rat they'd caught and dissected.
-
Jayce chuckled. "That's adorable. You two really are full of surprises."
-
The twins scowled. "Science, uncle. We haven't done this to be cute."
-
Jayce shook his head. "I'm sorry. You're right, and I'll leave you to your science." He smiled.
-
The twins sighed and got back to work. After a bit, Juka spoke. "Where are we going?"
-
Jayce sighed. "Nowhere. We're waiting for Acension to return to normal."
-
The two nodded. "Oh~ when will that be?"
-
Jayce shrugged. "Well...we have a window. It could be the next ten minutes, or the next few hundred years."
-
Con rubbed her paws together. "Now, we play the waiting game."
-
Jayce blinked. "Are you two trying to raise the dead? I mean, I've got a few tricks for you to try."
-
Juka placed a paw on her chest and gasped. "No, sir!"
-
Jayce sighed. "Aw...too bad. There's no scientist, besides Doc Frankenstine, that has brought the dead back."
-
Juka scoffed. "Ha!" Con had stitched up the rat and stuck one of its little paws into an electrical socket. She jumped and yelped when it shocked her, but the rat began to twitch and move about.
-
Jayce smiled. "Now that you've reanimated the body, can you bring back it's soul?"
-
Juka rolled her eyes. "Who cares about its soul?"
-
Jayce smiled. "It's not technically alive without the soul."
-
Con and Juka looked at each other before they looked back at Jayce. "Never said we wanted him to live."
-
Jayce shrugged. "Fair point. I was assuming you were."
-
"Nope! Just wanted it to move." Juka smiled and squeezed the rat until it's eyes popped out and it's insides shot out of its mouth like tooth paste.
-
Jayce chuckled. "Oh, that reminds me of the good ol' days. Back before old Ray kicked the bucket." He wiped an eye, and sighed. "Oh the memories."
Ray had slipped into unconsciousness briefly. He blinked awake, and quickly switched the filters on his gasmask. Ray then spoke, through a cough. "A-Acon? Y-You...ahem...you still here?" He looked up at the sky, and realized night had fallen.
-
The twins looked at each other and scowled.
Acon nodded and turned to face Ray. "Yeah. I'm here."
-
Jayce chuckled. "What? Did y'think your old uncle Jayce was a big softie? Would vomit at your antics?" He laughed.
-
Juka brushed herself off. "We didn't... that is until just now." She took Con's paw and lead her out of the room.
-
Jayce waved them off. "Have fun you two." He sighed, and laid back on the bed. "Nice kids. I'm glad I've gotten to know them better."
Ray sighed. "It's dark...I don't know where the metro is from here. We'll have to set up camp." He sighed, and sat upright. "I'm sorry Ronnie's being a d**k. I'll...I'll talk with him."
-
Acon nodded and curled up into a ball. "Please do."
-
Ray sighed, and smiled. He scooped up Acon, and walked towards an empty building. "We aren't camping outside. Rains'll come and wash us away." The building was an old furniture store, and Ray deposited Acon gently into a comfy looking chair. Afterwards, he broke up a few of the cheap dining chairs, and set the alight. "There...all comfy cozy."
-
Acon smiled at Ray and curled up. She nodded. "Yup! Nice and warm."
-
Ray sighed, and sat. "Are you feeling okay now? You've been outside for a while, with no protection."
-
Acon shrugged. "I feel a little sick and it's kinda hard to breath, but you know."
-
Ray sighed, and removed his gasmask. He wiped the lenses down, and handed it to Acon. "Put this on. We'll have to find you some kind of anti-radiation junk."
-
Acon nodded and put the mask on. She coughed a bit and laid her head down on her paws.
-
Ray sighed. "If you were gonna come out here, I would've gotten another gasmask."
-
Acon shrugged. "I wasn't thinking."
-
Ray shrugged. "It's okay...you were upset." He kissed the top of Acon's head, and sat. "I'll wake you when the sun shows up."
-
Acon nodded and closed her eyes, falling asleep quickly.
-
Ray sighed, and watched the fire.
-
Acon woke up after a while and lifted the mask from her face. Rubbing her eyes, she stood up and yawned. "Ray?"
-
Ray coughed awake, and looked at Acon. "H-Hey. Feelin' better?"
-
Acon shook her head and rubbed her temples. "No, but I wanna go home now."
-
Ray smiled, and stood. A cloud of ashes fell from his shoulder. "Alright." He walked outside, and sighed. "Where...are we?"
-
Acon shrugged and took Ray's paw, pulling him towards home.
-
Ray smiled, and coughed into his fist. "I'm glad you remember."
-
Acon nodded and continued on in silence. "I feel like shit."
-
Ray smiled. "You and me, both."
-
Acon nodded and sighed. "Yeah..."
-
The twins nosed around the ship all morning, looking for something to do.
-
Jayce was talking to the captain of the ship, explaining how the girls weren't being malicious, they were just bored.
Ray woke up in the metro, and stretched.
-
The twins smiled to each other as they let their rat run around the dining area.
Acon sat up and wiped her eyes. "Ray?"
-
Ray nodded. "I'm here, Acon."
Jayce smiled, and left the captain's quarters.
-
Acon sighed and folded her legs under her. "Where are we?"
The twins giggled as the rat scuried across the other furs' feet.
-
Ray smiled. "I found another metro." He sighed. "We could take the tunnels back home."
Jayce walked into the dining area, and promptly caught the rat.
-
Acon raised a brow. "Another metro?"
Juka huffed. "Foiled again by our own blood."
-
Ray nodded. "Yeah...It started snowing hard, so I brought us inside."
Jayce smiled. "Of course. It's better if I catch you. I won't throw you off the boat."
-
Acon nodded and wrapped her arms around herself. "Ah."
The twins sighed. "We could take that mean old captain."
-
Ray smiled, and hugged Acon.
Jayce nodded. "Yeah, but he's the only one who can drive."
-
Acon smiled and returned the hug. "Let's get going. I'm freezing."
The twins smiled. "Daddy let us start the car once."
-
Jayce sighed. "Cars and boats act differently, dears."
Ray nodded. "Through the tunnels, or across the streets?"
-
Juka scoffed. "I'm sure this thing has a manual."
Acon thought a moment. "The tunnels."
-
Ray smiled, and stood, starting off towards the tunnels. He put his headlamp on, and lit up the tunnels.
Jayce nodded. "Probably, but I don't want you two killing the captain off."
-
Acon followed close behind Ray. She held onto the back of his shirt.
The twins sighed. "Fine."
-
Ray smiled, and patted Acon's paw, reassuringly.
Jayce smiled. "Thank you, girls."
-
Acon looked around and sighed.
Juka sighed and grabbed Con's paw. "I'm hungry."
-
Ray smiled. "It's pretty boring, huh?" He spoke barely above a whisper.
Jayce smiled. "Want me to get room service?"
-
Acon nodded. "Yeah. Can't wait to get home."
Con pouted. "Why don't we ever get to eat in the dining room?"
-
Ray sighed. "Yep. We gotta keep quiet, now. We're not the only things down here."
Jayce offered a slight smile. "I figured you liked eating in the room."
-
Acon nodded. "Sorry." She whispered.
The twins shrugged. "We do, but we're never asked about eating in here."
-
Ray smiled. "Don't be sorry. You've got no need."
Jayce nodded. "I guess I should ask, huh?"
-
Acon nodded. "Sorry." She said again.
Juka smirked. "Yes, you should. We'll be in our room."
-
Jayce offered a smile. "Do you want me to bring you something?"
Ray sighed. "Don't worry...Don't worry. It'll be fine, whatever happens."
-
They nodded. "Yes, please."
Acon looked at her paws. "Yeah. I know."
-
Jayce pulled a well written-in notepad from his pocket, and tapped his tongue with the tip of a pen. "Anything in particular?"
Ray turned, and took Acon's chin in his paws. "What's wrong?"
-
Juka shrugged. "Something with lots of cheese!"
Acon shook her head. "N-nothing."
-
Jayce scribbled away, and then looked at Con. "What about you, sweetie?"
Ray kissed Acon, gently. "Alright, let's keep moving." He looped an arm around her waist, and continued walking.
-
Con thought a moment. "Can I have buttered noodles?"
Acon nodded. As they walked along, she stole glances at Ray every now and then.
-
Jayce chuckled. "Anything on that?"
Ray lifted Acon over a small barricade, and then continued down the tunnels. Something skittered by in the darkness.
-
Con shrugged. "Can I have extra butter on them?"
Acon sighed after a while. "You know in horror movies, when the ditsy blonde hears something in her house she says 'hello'?"
-
Jayce shrugged. "Sure...that's a lot of butter, but yeah...why not?"
Ray nodded. "Yeah?"
-
Con smiled. "Mommy doesn't like it when I have too much butter."
Acon smirked. "Why? Like the killer's gonna answer. 'Yeah! I'm in here!""
-
Ray chuckled. "Or when they hide under the covers? Like the killer's gonna go, 'Gonna stab the hell out of this woma-. Oh damn, she's under the sheets."
Jayce's ear twitched. "You sure you just want a ton-and-a-half of butter?"
-
Acon giggled. "She's protected by the sheet people."
Con nodded. "Yes sir!"
-
Ray smiled. "If only that worked." The scuttling sound got closer, and Ray bit his lip.
Jayce nodded. "Do you want me to mix the cheese and noodles?"
-
The twins nodded.
Acon nodded. "If only."
-
Ray motioned for silence, and turned the intensity of the lamp down, before continuing.
Jayce ran off to do as he was instructed.
