Title: Are there many other furries at your school? (If you're still in school)

Post by: anoni on September 10, 2015, 11:11:10 AM: There are about 7 furries I know of in my university, 5 of which are doing the same or similar courses with me and I've shared at least ONE class with!

There are almost definitely more around, UNSW is seen as sort of the university full of furries, cause most furries seem to go there.

Now that I've been working at the school, I'd say there are a few of these next generation kids that wouldn't surprise me if they were.

But, I'm actually about to start at UC Irvine in a week, so I would love to know if anyone is or knows any furs there so I can meet some new friends quicker!

I suppose there isn't anything like furry code between members of the fandom, eh? No secret hand signals? Ha ha. If anybody could use that it would probably be us.

Yea....I wear collars at school from time to time, and so far only 1 of my furry friends unstood its because I'm in this fandom. Everyone else thinks its because I want to be a dog and my family put a leash on me.....its a weird school.....

I went to a cosplay meet up a few weeks ago, and I wore my tail and made some ears and there is this girl in band with me. (She's a freshman omg) so little Asian girl whenever she sees me speaks time in like Japanese or something and addesses me as furry but doesn't say it. It's hard to show the nature of a furry when everyone around doesn't know and they just think you're a really good cartoonist. That girl is probably going to be so excited when I get my fursuit done…

On another, they have a terrible counseling system and bully management. Since it's so small, rumors spread like wildfire and it's hard for anyone to pinpoint who said what or who started what.

There are fellow Nintendo lovers but I seem to be the only one who is interested in wolves--most of my classmates see them as pests, as a lot of them hunt deer and such and shooting/capturing wolves is illegal as they are protected.

Anyway, besides her, there's one guy, the same one who grabbed my nonexistent tail at the time a dragged into a brightly colored furry world. His name is Robin Hood. No. Jk lol. Not to mention our school seems the more popular choice. 4 of my friends are furries, but they aren't into it as much as me. And I'm suspecting a 5th friend is a furry as well. Its hard to ask when people either don't know what a furry is, or only focus on the sexual side...
