Post by: Albie on March 25, 2017, 09:54:14 AM: Anyway, I decided to post drawings here. I am unsure what the "stuff" is in the topic intro, but I thought I'd leave it open in case I have stuff in the future, lol.

I haven't been drawing very long. I found that I really enjoyed it in November and just never looked back.

I generally draw Pokemon. So I hope you like Pokemon. I try to utilize different "styles". I put that in quotes as I have never had actual training and it is usually me messing with the software to see what I can do with it.

Constructive criticism is welcome (I also take needless praise, :P)

You put in quite a lot of effort I notice with these drawings, and I can definitely see you love Pokémon x3 You are indeed using and experimenting with a variety of styles, which is good and it makes each look unique.

As for the author of Watership Down, I got the book from someone I know in real life (kind of a friend, but it's hard to stay in touch with them). I didn't know the author was alive until last year. I still haven't read the book, as I keep forgetting to read books I have .-. (How odd that may sound.)
Well, you learn something every day. Shame he passed away, though. I like the artwork you made, keep it up :)

Post by: Albie on March 25, 2017, 03:31:58 PM: Thank you. I got into drawing because I would hunt cute pictures of Pokemon on the internet, but eventually I had my own ideas of what I wanted to see. And since nobody in the universe was making the pictures that I had in my head and I am too cheap to pay good artists to make them, I decided I would see if I can just do it myself, lol.

I suggest reading Watership Down. I read it when I was 13 and loved it so much that I re-read it at least once a year. That book was instrumental in me finding myself and getting courageous when needed. Lovable characters and a simple plot where they venture into the unknown. It has everything a good story needs.

I changed the font to a much cleaner one.

After I get all the cards done (Will take a long time, I know), I want to send them to a company that actually prints cards and have them to hold. That is the idea anyway.

The tarot cards are a lot of fun to make. Typical tarot art has a lot of symbolism in it. So it is especially fun to take that symbolism and translate it to my own designs. Each design is something that I meticulously plan out as well as the Pokemon I choose to represent it.

And if you are talking about the Pikachu tarot, she does have black at the end of her tail.

Post by: Albie on April 15, 2017, 05:54:04 PM: Pikachu Libre and the cos-play Pikachu have black on their tail. But many other female Pikachu do not. So I designed my tarot based on the cos-play style from Nintendo. But my other Pikachu were based on the non-black tail Pikachu.

lol So since Nintendo seems to have different Pikachu, I base which one I use on the picture I have in mind.

Moved Lucario's arm towards the center as well as Umbreon's mouth and did some more changes to the shadowing. But I figured I'd post the updated picture.

I am not sure what the critter supposed to be. It is a blue foxy/cat like thing, haha. It is a little picture she uses as her profile picture on another site. I have no idea if it is from a game or an anime or just some fakemon that was created for her. She just asked if I could draw it like that from another picture she found.

A little criticism: his right leg looks a little smaller than the other one. That's probably the perspective though, and adding definition for his knees would fix it. Other than that it's a really solid piece, man!
