Nothing complex here, just a little thing for fun. All genders are welcome, but I do have a preference for roleplaying with females. Jump in if anyone would like too. I'd much appreciate it!! :D
-
An armor-clad figure half-stumbled through the forest, before resting against a particularly shaded tree with a huff. A quiet clank echoed off the ground, as the spell-sword Valentine removed her helmet. She rested against the tree, wiping her hair and dirt from her eyes.
It had been days since she and her brothers got separated. Fear stole sleep with its arrival, and the she-raccoon hadn't stopped to rest until her legs gave out. Valentine hoped beyond hope that her brothers would find her, before that cursed dragon did.
-
Zane slithered around the forest, having time in his thoughts as heard the clack of metal. He moved to investigate
-
Valentine, as she was about to sleep, thought she saw something approaching her. She waved weakly before falling to her fatigue.
-
He slithered up to the curvy and gorgeous sleeping beauty as she passed out He waited for her to wake
-
Though her armor appeared curvaceous, Valentine's body was actually rather bland, yet muscular and battle-worn. As for looks, a great scar ran diagonally across the she-raccoon's face. A beast of a thing, the scar's deep scarlet stood out sharply against her royal-purple fur. Valentine stirred in her sleep, obviously about to wake up.
-
Though the scar and armor was decieving, he still saw beauty snd some curves to her. Zane saw her stir and prepared to greet her
-
Valentine awoke with a yawn, but froze as her vision cleared. She looked Zane up and down, before offering a quiet "Hello..?"
-
He blushed with a goofy smile, "Hullo!"
-
Valentine dropped her arms, and stood slowly. "Any particular reason you were watching me sleep?"
-
"Was waiting for you to wake up and make sur you're alright"
-
Valentine, suspicious of the stranger, eyed him guardedly. "Right...Well, I'm not dead." She picked up her helmet, inspected it for crawlies, before slinging it off the rear neck-guard of her armor. "I thank you for your concern, however. Perhaps some day a damsel in distress will repay you your kindness."
-
He frowned, feeling bad because he made her feel awkward,. "Wait."
-
Valentine stopped walking, and rested her paw on the hilt of her sword. Her brow furrowed in both confusion and frustration. "Alright, out with it then."
-
Light ran towards the 2 "we have to run" he said
-
"I've been in these wood so long that I'm just desperate for companionship." He begged solelmnly before turning to the stranger in surprise.
-
Valentine, interrupted by the new stranger, gripped the hilt of her sword. "Run? From what?"
-
Zane looked around
-
An eagle came from behind a tree and said: "And if so, where to?"
-
"Indeed" Zane yawned
-
"thers- theres---- this MONSTER" light explained "running after me we have to be quick" light said while running away
-
From the shadows the wolf emerged... trailing after the fox silently. I skirt around the others without a second glance, focused on retrieving my possessions from the sticky fingered fox...
-
as light looks back he sees the wolf again and runs even faster
-
enjoying the chase I increase speed, easily flanking the smaller fox, herding him back toward the clearing, and the furrs I had passed to have witness's when I 'catch' the thief...
-
"let me go" Light tried to get away from the wolf ASAP
-
"once you return the satchel you acquired you will be free to go, until then... no"
-
"what satchel?" Light tried to sound innocent
-
I crouch lower and pad forward slowly... ears pinned back.. 'MY satchel.. though it may not be the only one you are carrying...'
-
"look" light said "you need to let me go, so that i can get your satchel from my den"
-
"I trusted you once, and you relieved me of my possessions, things I need to .... exist. Why should I trust you..? What guarantee can you leave that you will return?"
reaches out with a forepaw and touches the fox on the forehead
-
gives some just caught food "this good enough?"
-
"A snack... no... " Eyes the fox thoughtfully "I COULD keep your tail though.."
Moves forepaw from the forehead to stroke the tail menacingly
-
"YOU'RE NOT CUTTING OF MY TAIL!!!" light said loudly "why don't you just follow me"
-
Zane just shook his head and listened
-
Looking the fox straight in the eyes, then finally looking at the others nearby before looking back at Lightstone
"Since there are witness's, I will not hold your tail ransom... I will give you sufficient time to go retrieve my satchel and return... If you do not return with it I will come find you again"
Touches nose to the fox's forehead... then lays down to wait... "do the honorable thing.."
-
Valentine released her grip on the hilt, and looked to Zane. "So...there's our 'monster' I guess. Anyway, I'm not looking for companionship, though a traveling companion isn't something I'll turn up. And, since you, from what I can see, live around here, you'll know the area."
-
Light ran away to his den and looking for the satchel as it is a mess
-
Zane sighed but smiled at Valentine, "Who knows?"
-
Looks over at the Warrioress and the other.. nods politely
"I am Naake Ni, and that fox absconded with some items that are important to who I am and what I do.. I am glad to have witness's to the fact I did not harm him, merely gave him things to think about."
-
Valentine sighed. "I need a drink and bath. You there..." She motioned at the eagle. "Eagle. Have you seen any warm springs? Though... I suppose it's rude of me to assume."
-
Light returnted with a fakte remake of Naakes satchel, pretty well made too "here is your satchel" lightstone said
-
"I believe there's a spring just north of here""
-
The figure behind the tree stared after the two.
Then, a mumble.
"Hmm. That looks like trouble."
A hooded figure flashed through the shadows towards the commotion between Lightstone and Naake.
-
Valentine nodded. "Good. I'll be glad to clean up." She headed north, a renewed skip in her step.
-
Zane followed suit with Valentine
-
watches the Warrioress and the Eagle as the move away.. sighs softly to self "I miss having pack..." I aslo watch a hooded figure moving slowly nearby...
When the Fox returns one sniff tells me it's not my satchel... I rise and place one paw on the foxes head.. looking into his eyes I ask "Do you, or do you not, have my satchel?"
-
Upon finding the spring, about an hour's walk away, Valentine smiled for the first time in a while. She walked to it's edge, and began removing her platemail cuirass, revealing the magus robes she wore beneath. The pauldrons slid off next, landing in the dirt with a thud. Valentine turned on her heel, staring at Zane. "I'm gonna need privacy for the next part, stranger."
-
"Of course" Zane went behind a rock and looked away
-
Valentine removed her robes and scampered into the spring, sighing delightedly. "You're good now," she called to Zane as she lowered herself into the water. Before he arrived, she waved her paw, and her armor and sword vanished.
-

"well now you have" the fox answers "so I gotta go now bye" and Light ran as fast a posible
-
watches the fox as he disappears into the woods. Knows I could chase him down again, but also know I'd regret the outcome of that endeavor...
Lays here thinking, knowing the only good option is to return to my pack, without my satchel, my prized possessions.. and the majic they carry. I will be the disappointment of the pack, the trusted who lost the treasures granted by the ancestors.
I chose to go a different route, and retrace my path back to the point my satchel 'disappeared'. Maybe I missed something, the fox, though appearing guilty, may be a clue, or a pawn...
I Huff, and rise, not looking forward to the trip back to civilization... I begin the journey...
-
as light runs he stumble upon the adventurers of back in the forest and says "hey guys what ya up to?"
-
Zane emerges, only seeing the very top of her shoulders and collar bones. He looked at Valentine "How does it feel"
-
Valentine smiled, genuinely. "Very nice, actually. Sorry for my initial uh...ruggedness? Outlanders are uh...not really well-received where I'm from. And I haven't had a rest in a long while."
-
Zane simply chuckled, "It's fine. I'm not usually given a warm welcome when I meet people"
-
Valentine nodded wistfully, crossing her arms over her chest. "I'm sorry to hear that. You seem nice, if a little forward for my taste."
-
"Mental impairments have their quirks" Zane said in solemn distaste
-
A bush on the other side of the spring rustles just slightly, noting an onlooker's presence.
-
Valentine nodded, sighing sadly. "I can understand." She looks to the shuddering bushes, but does not notice anything.
-
Zane simply sat and looked at Valentine
-
Valentine let herself sink lower in the spring, up to her neck. She splashed water on her face, cleaned herself, and started to get up out of the water. When she stood up, she snapped her fingers, and a burst of steam shot from her fur. Afterwards, her robe appeared around her, and the armor plates appeared on the ground. Valentine sighed as she started picking up her armor. "Thank you, stranger. I needed a bath."
-
A grey furred paw penetrates beyond the bushes with wooden bowl in hand. The bowl is dipped into the stream a the grey paw retracts into the shrubbery. The bush rustles more as if someone left the cover of the bushes.
The warrior and the snake still felt as though they were being observed from aways.
The sound of someone choking on water and a thud from an impact to the ground is heard when Valentine grants gratitude to her new acquaintance.
-
Light ran again "Run! Faster!"
-
"What the F***!" was shouted beneath a nearby tree. A grey hare adorned in roguish garb as well as armed with a eastern katana, a long bow, and miscellaneous sharp projectiles.
She got up by the surprise of the magic this [Wolf] produced as well as confused at what seemed to be a mentally deranged fox running in circles and shouting of delusion.
She stood up and inquired Valentine's' magic, "Ha-how did you just summon those garments of yours?! Where did you learn that!?"
-
"there's no time for this guys, i'm serious this time we HAVE to run!"
-
"Dude, I saw you pull the same thing a second ago from those bushes. Stop hiding you and your personal problems behind other people!"
The grey hare scolded the wack fox and focused attempts to ignore his hyperons'.
-
"oh oh" light said "it's a monster!" light ran as fast as possible with the hares katana
-
The hare grasped the foxes tail firmly after he pickpocketed her katana.
"Oh no you don't you twit!"
And she pulled back with force that threw the fox against the ground beside her where she pinned him to the ground, taking her sword back.
-
((Valentine's a raccoon. Sorry, I normally specify in most of my posts.))
Valentine looked over at the hare, an eyebrow raised. "Most of Aldern's citizens can use magic." The raccoon started to don her armor. "I guess I'm a little farther away from home than I thought. My father taught me. In fact, everyone in my family but my younger brother can use magic." She sighed heavily. "He has the mark of beast-blood and the knowledge of mad men."
-
light ran ASAP taking a small knife and hiding it
-
"Damn it!" The hare exclaimed for she could notice the weight difference.
The grey she-hare then reached out her bow, notched, and shot and arrow that penetrated the foxes hip.
-
the fox fell down but not before hiding the knife somewhere
-
"That's what you get thief. I have more where that came from anyway. I don't need to waste any energy with you"
The hare walks over to Valentine and the snake to find a more entertaining crowd.
-
Light picks up the knife again hides it in his den and start going back to the pack
-
Near where Valentine emerged, another purple raccoon clawed his way out of the shrubbery. He wore a very tattered brown robe over a dirty and torn shirt and pants. Atop his head, a leather hunting cap caked in blood nearly toppled from its perch. The raccoon also had a dirty linen blindfold around his head, but he navigated well enough. Upon his back sat a large sword-scabbard, with no hilt, and a large multi-barreled flintlock on his side. He sniffed deeply, as if searching for something, before heading south, dropping to a crawl every now and again.
-
Zane was about to.speak again until the arrival of the stranger startled him.
-
(FYI, the Wolf has left the area.. )
-
"okay what just happened?!" Light said as if everybody there was his friend
-
Valentine shrugged. "Uh...you got whupped for being a thief?" She shook her head. "Anyway, its getting late, I think. I'm probably gonna set up camp here for the night." Valentine went to check her sword, and winced when she accidentally cut herself. A droplet of blood, hardly a thimble full, hit the grass, staining a blade red. "Yeowch," cried Valentine. "Gotta be more careful."
A three hours walk south, the mad raccoon stopped. He raised his nose to the sky, and sniffed.
"That smell...the sickening sweet," he whispered to himself. "I can smell it. Oh...fresh blood." He crouched, and howled upwards like an animal.
-
""You alright?" Zane moved close. He heard a faint howl in the distance
-
Valentine nodded. "Yeah. Just nicked my paw." She sighed and shook her head. "I don't even use swords. I use magic normally. I'm too clumsy for swords."
-
"Well no one's perfect"
-
"Here, I have a med kit. You never know what may be around to smell it. Trust me. I've hunted sharks back when I lived along the shore."
The grey hare reached back and pulled out an elastic cloth bandage and a spring pin. She wraps up the small wound.
"There. Also it won't get irritated while you use your hand. I'm Syko by the way".
-
"I hate to CUT the moment short, friends," a fire-orange fox said, moving towards the group, eyes focused in the distance, "but we should probably get moving. That howl... there was something dark to it."

-
"Huh another fox. what is your motive for helping us?"
"Why do you want to warn us?"
"Pardon my suspicions but I have only known foxes to work cunning honey words to advance a personal agenda."
-
The fox presently being questioned, rather than making for a verbal and possibly physical spar, instead merely inclines his head, as if accepting the basis of the accusations.
"I do not blame you for your views, and personally am not so quick to trust in my own kind either. I assure you, though, that I am indeed here to help as I can, hard as it may be to believe. However, if you truly do not desire my presence, then I'll take my leave."

-
"I think your cause is noble, but I do not ask you to forgive me if I keep one eye open"
"Tell us more about what you know about this howl that we just heard"
-
Once more, the newcomer merely inclined his head, fully accepting the suspicion against him, knowing full well of the well-earned distaste for his kind.
"I find your concerns perfectly reasonable, do not worry. As for the howl... did it not sound strange to you, as if it didn't quite belong to... whomever it is that howled?"

-
The hare looked sideways at the fox, "I have heard many of monstrous cries in the dark but that was not as ere as such. I do not fear to whom it belongs to for if it belongs to whom made the call then one could size up the general ferocity of its maker.
"I dare say we proceed with caution. However, I do not see a reason to make way to avoid this trouble. We are well armed and this wolf madden you can tell is well versed in the arcane arts as well as my skill in arms. We have nothing to worry".
-
"he's right" light randomly said "at least, can you tell me where that howl came from"
-
Valentine's ear twitched as the howl reached her, and continued to do so as she thought. She brought a paw up, tapping her chin gently. "We need to set up camp. And powdered silver. Wherever he is, he knows I'm here." Valentine sighed, swirled her paw, and a campfire appeared nearby. She reached into one of her many satchels, and tossed out a pawful of shining dust. The fire flared and turned a bright blue. "He'll stay away from the fire. Unless, of course, it's a full moon. It bolsters him, emboldens the beast within."
The raccoon, now only an hour out, howled again in that awful, beastly way. The sky began to darken, as the sun dipped below the trees.
-
"well i gotta go to my den" Light said while running to his den and getting that satchel Valintine just used saying "for my family of course!"
-
Valentine's blade flashed out, cutting the satchel from Light's paw. The she-raccoon scooped up the bag, menacing Lightstone with her sword. "Where I'm from, theives lose paws. Try that again, and I'll send you to your family one...part...at a time."
-
"I get it. i get it" light walked away and started thinking to start at the weapons
-
Valentine sheathed her blade. "I hate doing that, but I can't abide thieves." Sighing, the raccoon continued assembling her camp.
-
Zane went back and forth gathering supplies
-
The fox studied the hare before him for a moment more, then nodded. Noticing the setting sun, as well as the fire off to his left, he then moved away to collect some more wood for the night.
"Very well, sir," he said as he turned around, instantly beginning to rapidly scan the woods ahead of him for viable supplies, as well as possible threats. "If you're truly so sure, then I suppose I can find contentment in that." He paused for a moment then, as if he were pondering something.
"By the way..." he began again, turning a backwards glance to the group, then the hare he was speaking to, "the name is Ace."

Meanwhile, the figure in the shadow went standing looking at what's happening. He decided to step out into the light of the campfire. A white tailed sea eagle could now clearly be seen.
-
Just as the newly-identified Ace went to leave for supplies, he spotted something else from the corner of his eye, and, upon turning, noted a Eagle approaching the group.

(Eagle, Ace.)
The eagle didn't draw any weapon or speak. All it did was standing there, looking around. Its gaze crossed Ace' for an instant.
-
(My apologies. My glasses ate still at Heitz, so I'm still not quite all with it. Spellcheck doesn't help much either.)
Ace, having not previously been with the group and still not officially a member, merely nodding towards the newcomer, then finally turned back to the woods. Night was fast approaching, and there was much collecting that needed to be done.

The Wolf made the trip back to the nearest settlement.
I continued to retrace my padding, eventually ending up at the greasy little establishment where I had been bumped into by the fox thief, then realized my satchel was gone.
As I entered the proprietor looked up, then moved quickly to meet me, walking me towards the door to his apartment behind the shop.
"Fair Wolf, so glad you returned.. you left in a hurry and after you did we found your satchel under the fireside table near where you had rested. We would like you to retake possession of it, as the two furrs curious enough to try to open it seem to have turned ... um... dead... "
He looks around the shop nervously, then continued "neither were upstanding citizen's, and they will not be much missed, but I'd prefer not to be responsible for any more cleaning up."
Having finished he stepped thru the curtain, and returned nearly immediately with a small tan leather pouch, my satchel..
"Would you kindly reattach it to my collar? I need to go find a fox and apologize... I fear I made a hasty assumption."
With my satchel back in my possession I leave town at a lope, hoping to find the fox still with the group in the woods.
-
Ace was, for lack of any better descriptor, frustrated. All of the wood he'd found in the woods that he now carried piled upon his shoulder (he felt that twenty was plenty enough for now) was miraculously recently fallen, meaning that it would need to sit in the fire for some time before it actually began to burn. He only hoped not only that everyone was alright since his departure about a half hour ago, and that the mage might be able to dry out the wood he carried.

Getting surprised about the new commotion and seeing herself surrounded, the hare thought: 'Oh crap! Looks like the going is getting tough'. "Um well it appears that we have quite a crowd on our hands. This is more than I bargained for!"
The hare backed stepped slowly before dashing into the bushes and up into the trees away from the commotion.

Another beastial howl crushed the peaceful night air, close enough to send the icy daggers of fear into anyone's heart. As the moon rose, its full brilliance brought nothing but panic to Valentine. She drew her sword, paws shaking, her breath visible in the cool night air. It was the first time she would have to face her brother alone. "I-I...I-I can't do this...w-we're d-doomed." Her sword lowered closer to the ground as both her nerves and strength began to fail. The wild grip of fear lit her eyes, and she looked close to breaking.
The raccoon, after loosing another guttural howl, began to stalk his prey. He dragged the large, bladed scabbard across the ground, the razor edge sparking off stones in the dirt. "Soon," he whispered to himself, "soon I sup on the crimson wine." He smiled grotesquely, his razor sharp teeth shining in the moonlight. "It calls to us all...Sister...I am the one who answers."
-
Upon hearing the howl as it echoed through the night, Ace was gripped with fear himself. Not fear of whatever it was that howled, but rather fear FOR the group he'd recently joined with.
It didn't take him long to return to camp then, and upon his arrival, he tossed the massive load of logs down off of his armored shoulder. Instantly, he scanned the camp, and, upon notice Valentine's state, moved to her side, laying a calming hand upon her shoulder.
"Chin up," he said quietly, hoping to encourage the Coon. "We'll win this day yet, so don't give up before the trouble even begins."

Zane tensed. The howl shot a sense of urgency throughout his bones. His eyes narrowing, he began to morph into his cruelest form, a beast that looked as though it were a hellhound, but also faintly of a pikachu. His powers were somthing he declined to use in front of strangers. but the dread and fear from others over-rode that habit altogether. Zane leaped infront of his companions, ready to defend them.
-
Hearing the howl Naake Ni stopped, nose in the air and ears listening closely...
Knowing he was close to the travelers camp from the smell of the smoke He breaks into a hard run towards the camp.. hopefully he arrives before whatever else is heading that way...
As he runs he thinks back to his Grandfather and the training he had gone through looking for something that might be useful, several possibilities come to the forefront, depending on what is howling like a mad raccoon.
-
The nearby bushes rustled and shifted as something made its way through. However, as the monster-raccoon was poised to pounce, a scream echoed through the forest, followed by the crack of a rifle. The huge raccoon beast was silhouetted against the flash for just a moment, before he instead chased down the ill-fated hunters. Quick and brutal, the beast struck, killing his prey outright. When he finished his grisly meal, the beastial raccoon calmed down, returning to his normal form. A sharp clearing of his throat, the raccoon made his way towards camp. "Valentine," he called, "Val, are you there? I-It's Ray." The bushes snapped and crackled as a blindfolded raccoon stumbled out of the forest.
-
(Guys! Guys, I'm finally done with my Government homework!)
Ace only grew more uneasy from every unnatural sound, though for the sake of his new comrades, he tried his best not to show it. Instant, he gave the lady Raccoon's shoulder a small squeeze, hoping to instill some kind of confidence in her, then stepped forth as well, coming to stand firmly beside the shape-shifter. He didn't want to show his powers before others, nor even use them for that matter (they blew up half a town last time), but if there were no other options, then he would do exactly that in defense of the others.
His expression hardened, his eyes, usually a soft Forest Green, began to glow as they focused on the direction of the howling, and a similar glow began emanating from his paws as he slipped into a battle stance. Suddenly, he froze, his attention snapping a little ways right of where he was just looking.
A voice.

"hey guys i'm back!" light said while walking back to the pack "what'd i miss"
-
Slows from my run a little away from the camp, approaches quietly, but openly.. hoping not to get attacked by mistake,
-
'oh no' light thought before saying "hey Naake Ni long time no see, eh? how's your satchel?"
-
Sees the Fox as I break clear of the brush, quickly replies "About that... we need to talk later.."
Stops short and looks around at the others in camp "Where and what...?"
-
Valentine sighed, and carefully sheathed her sword. "Gods protect, Rayleonarde! You had me horrified." She walks over to her brother and helps him up.
Ray smiled, sniffed around, and spoke. "I'm sorry sister. I got lost, Jayce and Ronnie must've tried to follow you down the cliff. But, more on that later." He groped about until he found the hilt of Valentine's sword. Drawing the blade, he clasped the small sword into his massive scabbard, wielding the new blade with ease. He drew the multi-barreled pistol, and readied himself. "Strangers abound," he roared. "Reveal yourselves!"
Valentine began trying to talk Ray down, lowering his sword by its flat.
-
Ace merely blinked, more disturbed than ever before, although he was more than happy to store the energy once more and use the chance to hide his power again.
Unlike the usual though, he didn't completely halt it's flow. There was something... wrong... with this blindfolded Raccoon - Rayleonarde, if he wasn't mistaken. He could sense something in him, something terribly dark, although it was also suppressed.
Nevertheless, there was no reason to make himself appear as a possible threat to this 'blind' stranger, and so Ace spoke in response to his demand.
"We stand right before you, friend, and, I assure you, bear for you no ill will."

Calmly sits down where I am and waits, my features not giving any clues to my thoughts, only giving the impression that I am not a threat, at this time.
-
Ray eased his stance, before sheathing the huge blade. "I apologize. T-The...uh...my current uh...situation," he motioned at the blindfold. "Makes strangers all the more strange."
-
"Wow!" light suddenly said "he wanted to kill the person who couldn't see anything, and you call me dangerous! You can give me your sword, ray. In case you're afraid you will use it"
-
Before Ray could respond, Valentine delivered a sharp, open-pawed slap to Light's head. "Don't test me, thief. I will make good on my word."
Ray chuckled, and turned towards Light. "Though I cannot see, I can still smell you." He then sighed, smiled, and moved towards the fire like a moth to a flame. "Saying I am unable to see is a bit of a lie. This," he motioned towards the flame, "I can see the light. Smells of silver." He turned towards Valentine. "Y-You aren't hunting beasts again, are you?"
Valentine rubbed the back of her neck, walking away from Lightstone, revealing the small silver dagger sheathed across her rear. She placed a paw on Ray's shoulder and laughed, forced and false. "Just a precaution, brother. Just a...uh...yeah."
-
Ace, presently having naught to add here, decided to sit by the fire and listen, wondering why the two seemed to be dancing around the subject of beasts.
Sent from my Moto E (4) using Tapatalk
-
Ray sighed loudly. "Valentine, you know how I feel about you hunting without at least me. Jayce and Ronnie should be here soon. I came down the goat-path on the side of that cliff, and I beat them here." He took a step away from the sliver-fed fire and sat. Valentine, still facing her brother, bent over slightly. "I'm glad to see you've k-kept yourself under control. How're the voices?"
At this, Ray chuckled. "Muddled. They get confused so easy. I wish I still had my pack. I lost it the night before my descent. All that bread...gone." He shook his head.
-
The eagle had travelled along with Ace, without saying even a single word.
-
Valentine patted Ray's shoulder. "You'll be okay, Ray. We've got a lot to scavenge from. This forest will provide. But, we can work on that tomorrow." She walked closer to the fire, and propped herself against a nearby rock. "I need to sleep. You should to, Ray." Valentine waved her paw and emitted a soothing orange glow. Ray's head drooped, jerked up just once, before lolling to the side. He quickly fell asleep. Valentine yawned loudly, and she too quickly fell asleep.
-
Zane piled himself up next to Valentine after shifting back into a snake, dozing off as well
-
"everyone asleep? yes" is what light said after everybody slept and he took the weapons and some satchels before making another den in the middle in the woods
-
sitting motionless and silent in the shadows at the edge of the firelight I watch the fox pilfering through everyone's possessions.
is going to miss the fox when he gets caught... such a nice fluffy tail..
-
Light went to sleep in his new-made den
-
Ray woke first, five hours after he fell asleep. Without checking for his sword or pistol, he stood and relit the fire, scampering away when the blue flame once more sprang to life. Ray then set off to find a meadow, all the while undoing his blindfold. He opened his eyes once he was well away from camp and looked around. His eyes were like the beautifully ominous night sky, swirling white spots amid the pitch-dark. After a few minutes, he tied his blindfold back on and headed back to camp.
-
Light woke up, all his stolen stuff still there
-
A rather tall, nearly hairless rat like female trudged her way through the forest for what seemed like hours before she came across the camp. The scraggly looking female looked on in curiosity until it got the better of her and she decided to carefully step in so as to not wake anyone and draw unwanted attention to herself. "What odd looking bunch..." She whispered to herself.
-
Valentine had, in her sleep, moved into a very unflattering position. She had rolled onto her front and her rear now stuck up into the air. A few moments later, Valentine snorted herself awake. She groaned, stretched like a cat, and started to come around. "Mm...Ray? It's time to get up."
-
Light decided to walk back to the camp "hey guys, whats up, new friends?" he said pointing at the rat

(She’s not a rat. Rat-like! But not a rat. Actually for future reference, you can refer to her as a mongrel. I’d say that’s most accurate xD ) She pursed her lips and turned to face Light with a sly looking thin smile. “I wouldn’t say a ‘friend’ but yes I suppose.” She chirped in a smooth, low tone. “The name’s Plaga, but you can call me Zambie~”

"hey Zambie!" light said trying to sound like some-one who can be trusted "what ya up to?"
-
Zambie’s smile grew wider, showing off her jagged, near rotting teeth. “I was hoping to ransack this camp and score an easy meal, but since it seems a few people are still awake, I’ve had a change of heart.” She said in the kindest, I’m-not-a-bad-egg voice she could muster.

"well as you can see, they don't really have stuff, no idea how that happend"
-
“Seems we’re birds of a feather in that aspect then.” Zambie responded, her thin forked tongue flicking out of her mouth as she spoke. She seemed to taste the air like that of a snake.

"come ill help ya out on the next camp" light said "see that smoke over there" light pointed to smoke over some trees "probably a camp, and since its late and not that far we can go there" light said before walking towards his den and looked around if Zambie arrived at my den
-
Valentine shook her head, as Lightstone's comment echoed around her skull.
'They don't really have stuff.'
Standing quickly, too quickly, Valentine tried to appear less distressed than she was. "We've been robbed?!" She checked the scabbard on her hip, empty. She checked for the dagger on her rear, gone. Valentine bit her lip, obviously enraged, yet there was a timidness as she beheld the massive Plaga. "L-Look. I-I'm not looking for trouble."
-
as Zambie arrived light decided to dig to the new found camp through his den
-
Zambie blinked before she waved a paw nonchalantly in the air. “You go on a head. I’ll make a grand entrance in a bit.” she said to Light as he headed to his den. She then turned her attention to the raccoon before her. “Neither am I. That’s why I’ve chosen to leave your belongings, or lack there of, alone.” The seven foot mongrel chirped, flashing Valentine with one of her sly grins.

Valentine slightly, clasping her paws in front of herself. "T-Thank you s-" As she finally came completely around, the she-raccoon realized that the person before her was female. Something clicked in Valentine's mind. She didn't know how to process it, but the feeling made her head swim.
Before Lightstone would get too far in his digging, an unnaturally strong paw gripped his tail and dragged him out. After throwing the fox against a tree, the same strong paw pinned him to the tree trunk. There before him stood a very displeased Rayleonarde. Behind him, on the ground, lay his cloak, covered in weapons retrieved from the fox's den. Ray gave Light a wicked grin, and crudely mimicked his voice. "Hello, new friend!"
-
The large wolf, still curled quietly on the outskirts of the camp, lay watching the scenes unfold as I kept my satchel tucks out of sight by my chest. This new addition troubled him, though he had not yet decided why.
He had seen RayLeonarde depart, then return a short time later, and watched as Valentine woke, seeing the difference in her demeanor with Ray around...
As for the Fox, Lightstone (though Light Fingers might be a more fitting name), it appeared that Ray was about to handle that issue... I suddenly rise, my satchel strings around my neck, and trot to where Ray has Lightstone pinned.. After clearing my throat I speak softly
"It's a shame... someone as light fingered and free of regret could be a valuable asset on a journey, if he learned ot respect his companions possessions. He could even make himself quite rich... But, if he can't be trained may I have his tail when you are done with him?"
-
Zambie’s tail swayed from side to side as she watched the delicious confrontation that unfolded between Light and the other raccoon. “My my. What a rowdy bunch you have here.” She said, regarding Valentine with a sideways glance.

Valentine blushed and rubbed the back of her neck. "Y-Yeah...R-Ray's not himself. Or he is, but he's mad." She sighed, scuffing her foot against the dirt. "I-I'm sorry about him."
-
Zane woke groggily, having been asleep, " 'The **censor**'s goin' on?" He spoke irratibly, still half-asleep
-
(What in blazes... I leave for a day plus due to Finals, and everything takes off... I almost feel unwanted here.)

(I wouldn't take it too personally, Ace. Things speed up and slow down on a whim. If I remember correctly, I've been behind something around twenty posts in one day of absence. It's a common situation.)
Valentine glanced back at Zane. "Ray's threatening the fox-thief. A-Also," she looks up at Zambie a moment, "we've company."
-
No you're fine!
-
(Hm...)
Ace smirked slightly behind the raised collar of his cloak. Light put up quite the admirable effort, especially given that none of the other more-than-capable people present noticed, but in his haste, he didn't take into account the fact that the visually impaired always had the rest of their senses heightened exponentially, meaning that eventually, Light was doomed to this Ray character's discovery regardless.
Besides, it's not like Ace was in the habit of carrying much on him anyway.

"okay, okay you finally caught me" light finally said "listen, i just wanted to sell your weapons so i can buy food for my family"
-
Ray snarled, held the horrific expression for a moment, and the laughed. He laughed hard, like he heard a very hilarious joke. Ray smiled, chuckling between clenched teeth. He leaned towards Lightstone, and began gently nipping his ear. Suddenly, Ray bit into Lightstone's ear flesh. He held there a moment, before leaning away, licking his blood-stained teeth. "Valentine gave you a chance, now I have too." He released his grip on the fox, wiping his chin. He grabbed up his cloak, and continued on his way.
-
Light walked back to his den to get to the other camp
-
As Ray re-entered the camp, his expression changed. Gone was the vile, malicious grin he wore. In it's place, confused befuddlement. Ray looked around quickly, and spoke out to Valentine. "W-Wha...What happened? What am I carrying? V-Valentine?" He dropped the makeshift sack of weapons, and approached slowly. "D-Did I have a-an episode again?" Ray knelt before his sister, both fists planted in the earth. "I'm sorry."
Valentine patted her brother's head reassuringly. "It's fine, Ray. I know what you suffer with." She sighed, and helped her blind brother return the weapons to their owners.
I'll have to keep an eye on the fox-thief. Valentine thought. If Ray's cursed him...
-
Zane only watched, utterly lost with what was going on
-
as Light walked a few meters he felt something and the father he walked the worse it got so he decided to walk back to the pack "Ray! What have you done to me!"
-
The eagle watched it all happen and finally spoke. "You're a psycho, Ray."
-
Valentine shook her head. "He's not a psychopath. The blood of beast-kin runs through his veins. His episodes hit hard and fast; we are lucky to be alive."
Ray stood up as Light called to him. "N-Nothing!"
Slapping her brother, Valentine shouted. "You bit him, Ray!" She sighed, and approached Lightstone. "You'll be fine, I'm sure. If the curse was transmittable by bite, Aldern would already have fallen." The she-raccoon offered Lightstone a smile, along with a coarse linen bandage.
-
The eagle could be heard muttering to himself: "So he's some sort of werewolf. Except that bite thingy. Odd."
-
finally gets up from my spot near the edge of the camp, clears my throat, and pads slowly towards the fire. As I advance my nose goes into overdrive trying to figure out the scents..
Valentine and Ray have similar, though specific racoon-ish scents, but there is something more, something I haven't scented before.
Finally, from a few feet away I speak "Now that all the excitement seems to be over I felt I should introduce myself... I am Naake ni, a traveler, student of the world. I have heard stories of the dangers of these parts, adn wondered if any were interested in traveling together for a while?"
-
(Merry Christmas everyone!)
Zane silently moved up next to Ray and Valentine
-
Zambie watched the group with a critical eye, a small smile spreading across her face. She sauntered up beside Valentine, squeezing between her and Ray, and bumped the raccoon lightly with her shoulder. “You lot are fairly new to each other?” The tone used was judgmental, not genuine curiosity. “I’d be careful who you choose to let soak up your company, m’lady.” Zambie cackled then like an evil witch. “Lest you accidentally let a bad apple get too close for comfort.”

Valentine nodded. "Sound advice, Z-Zambie." As Ray wandered towards Naake no, Valentine rubbed the shoulder Zambie had bumped. Not that it hurt. "B-But, even bad apples have their use."
Ray sniffed the air, and smiled at Naake ni. "You smell of more than you appear to be, traveler."
-
Keeping a wary eye on Zambie as Ray ambles over...
"I fear none of us are quite what we appear to be... But, for some reason we are brought together."
My stance shifts sightly as I watch
-
light suddenly started to groan an scream in pain "Whats happening?!" he said while all of this was going on
-
Valentine slapped Light across the face before bandaging his ear. "You got bit, and now it hurts. Calm down."
Ray nodded. "Quite. We're an odd bunch, as Zambie said."
-
Zambie snorted and rolled her firey amber eyes. Her long tail curled and twisted as she watched Light. “Goodness, I certainly hope that bite doesn’t become infected... or worse.” She said as her sly grin spread wider and became more menacing.

Looking at the She-Rat, I sniff, then sneeze sharply
"Zambie is it? I once knew a dark Shaman who had several zambie's, unpleasant things, smelled of death and dust, and other foul things... but they were only able to function on his instructions.."
I pace a loose circle around Zambie and Valentine, cutting Ray and Lightstone outside that circle, looking and scenting. I then move closer, speaking quietly and politely, seeming to inadvertently step on the hem of her 'robe' with a forepaw as I stop.
"I will be watching you, Miss Zambie.. I have not decided yet if it is my concern, but I will be watching until I know."
Having spoken I flick my forepaw kicking a bit of the dirt and detritus onto the robe, muttering to myself as I pad away to lay down closer to the fire.
-
Zambie held the wolf's (Wolf, right? I forgot :,O) visual challenge with a hint of boredom in her cold, unblinking stare. "Ooh~ I'm shaking in my boots." She said with another witch's cackle, wiggling her fingers in front of her to feign fright. "Although, I must admit, you are right to keep a watchful eye on the likes of me." She admitted. "I could very well be a bad apple."
-
Makes fur shiver, then snickers... "Indeed... and you may well turn out to be a ... needed... part of this adventure."
(and yes, feral wolf)

Ray's demeanor suddenly seemed to change. He bent slightly, and looked around in some form of paranoia. He moved quickly and retrieved his sword from the pile. "It's here," he whispered quietly to himself. "Narathan, daughter of whispers. Matriarch of the First Secret." Ray brandished his blade at nothing, and suddenly bolted deeper into the forest.
Valentine shook her head as her brother ran off. "Ald's breath, he's snapped again." She had paid Naake no mind as he paced. "Excuse me," she said curtly before sprinting after her deranged brother.
A few minutes passed before gunshots echoed around the forest.
-
"AAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" light screamed in pain and suddenly fell down whispering strange words which were not English "egachi rednarevki egachi rednaverki egachi rednaverki"
-
The eagle had no idea just what exactly was going on, but he figured something was amiss. Though, he could not know what.
-
Light continued "nedneirvnjimempleh yerretruebegtaw"
-
The wolf, rapidly loosing interest, rose, stretched, and padded away into the woods... As he moved into the shadow he looked back and said
"Peace and luck to you all, may you find what you seek"
then he was gone
-
After what felt like hours, Valentine stopped running. Ray had long since outpaced her, leaving her lost. The she-raccoon sighed loudly and sat. Snapping her fingers, a small campfire appeared nearby. Another wave of her paw, and the metal plates she wore vanished, leaving only the very comfortable robes Valentine chose to travel in. Valentine again sighed loudly as she tried to get her bearings, not that she was any good at it. "Ray has the nose for tracking," she thought aloud. "But he's run off." Valentine brought her knees to her chest as she stared into the fire.
-
meanwhile the madness at the camp became worse as a random beacon appeared and Light floated 10 feet up
-
The eagle decided it was too boring and walked away into the night.

Why not 'fly away'.. ?

the beacon slowly went away as a new creature stands where light stood, an African wild dog

The eagle decided it was too boring and walked away into the night.
Why not 'fly away'.. ?
because I didn't type that!
