Hello. :peace: What can I say, I couldn't find an avitar that reflects the outer me so I chose one to reflect the inner. I have spent most of my life as a lone wolf and when not alone i am very pack orientated. I have always felt most comfortable in nature which is strange because I have spent most of my life in technology. I hold a degree in Math and used to work as a design engineer for analog, servo-mechanical, and radio propogation projects until I went obsolete, and now I spend more time at the computer than out in the woods. I did go crazy for a few years and hitch-hiked cross country 3 times taking up residence in national parks and parts of the Apalacian trail until they ran me off, but I'm better now. I was born and raised in Apalacian Kentucky (eastern Harlan County) on a farm and later a coal mine (same location, farm was dug up and carted away) which started out in the woods before Peabody came. Served in the US Navy for a few years, went back to University of Kentucky, and went to work in the defence industry. All the while I had been, until lately, active in various environmental movement activities, finally got discouraged and came down from that soapbox. I am a practicing Animist (just can't seem to get it right yet, but I'll keep practicing) and have a wiccan past. I am part Tslagi (Cherokee) and my great Aunt and Uncle filled my head with a lot of lore from that side of the family. Still hard to keep me from Pow Wows and 49er songs. I also worked a bit in a King's carney while I was crazy.
Well that's more than anyone will ever want to know about me :yeah-yeah:, right down to the fir. ???

Oh, yes! How old are you, indeed.
I'm twelve, so don't be ashamed.
There's another twelve year-old and a thirteen year-old on here.
Anyway, I agree with Scy. Seems like you've had it rough, but we're always happy to have a new member in the forums.

I'm only 52, left home when I was 16 and lied about my age (ht 6'0" and weighed 189 at the time, built muscle bucking hay and climbing trees) to get into the Navy, I had my High School diploma already. But in the words of The Professor and Maryann, "I've done a lot of living in the time I've been given, and now I am waiting to die". I've been in Connecticut 8 years now and that's the longest I've been in any one place since I left home. :squish: sometimes I miss seeing what's over the next hill, but my curiosity's pretty well shot. About 2 years ago I was in the hospital for internal bleeding (a duodenal ulcer hit the superior mesentic artery) and I , fittingly, almost *** my life's blood out. When they put the tube down my throat the geyser hit the ceiling for two pumps then just trickled out. The gastrointerologist closed the wound with clamps and a laser through the tube, and in the next 5 days they gave me 10 pints of blood, I was running on empty for sure. Two funny things were the result of this occurance. First I lost my passion, before I was angry or fully engaged in some cause or other, now i don't do anything but petitions. (it also affected my romantic life but I know you don't want to hear about an old man's love life) Second I wound up with severe arthritis in the intercostal region. ( i already had a bit in the hips and knees, that got worse). This it the first time I've had any medical trouble at all. The first 50 years were gravy. :) Again that's probably more than you wanted to know.
Please watch your language.

You have lived the life of a real adventurer that is for sure! I am almost jealous. Except for the whole almost dying part and stuff..well that doesn't sound like fun.
