Just look for the area with the most furcons. You'll find your answer.
If all else fails, throw a dart at a full sized map. Good luck with that.
-
Yea I wish it was that easy, I'm not pulling up any results with google. Well this is a permanent life decision, I mean despite the Anesthesiologist job I'm going to have, *$400,000 a year* I mean I want to live with people where I can relate to them and have real friends *sigh*.
-
I dunno. There are at least 3 or 4 furries that live in Florida that I know of, just on this forum. :P
*whispers* ...But Florida sucks.
Seriously though, pretty much anywhere that has some big cities... nowhere out in the woods or anything would probably be fine. It's not like we all get together and decide to live in certain areas. As Scyler said, areas near furcons are probably your best bet.
-
*Whispers back: I know, Florida is on my do-not-live-there list*
Umm... what's a furcon ???
-
A furcon is a furry convention. Where furs go to (sometimes) dress up in their fursuits and mingle with other furs. There are some that are more popular than others, though I'm probably not the best person to ask what those are since I don't have that great of an interest or knowledge base regarding them.
-
Ah, well thanks for the help at least. I'll have to find some of those locations and dates in the future, because I'm all up for roadtrips, I've been wanting to meet other furries for a long time in-person. There's no others around here in Northern California that I've heard about.
-
Well I did some brief searching and there are (at least) two furcons in California, though I wouldn't know how close they are to you.
Califur: http://www.califur.com/
Further Confusion: http://www.furtherconfusion.org/fc2010/
Furcons are really the surest way to go out and actually meet other furs. A lot easier than moving somewhere randomly and just hoping for a happy coincidence. :P

I live in California too, so I definetely understand.
Well, like Zeph said....throw darts at a map. XD
Haha just kidding.
Look up places you might want to live, find out climate, what kinds of people live there, etc.
I'm sure you'll find some place. But even here, we do have ALOT of furries.
-
Yea *thanks for understanding on the California part* I already know what climate I want: cold weather, a location somewhat isolated from the town or city nearby, but ya know still close enough to get Comcast broadband and Directv. Like ya know a pretty sizeable house surrounded by woods or something.
-
COME TO CANADA!!! :D
Not because I live there either...<_< >_>
-
I would move to Canada, but I heard Canadian currency is worth half of US currency, so ya know I don't want to be making less than I should be =s
-
Go to Michigan. It's cold, rural, not too far from a lot of Furcons. Plus, you'll be close to Canada where many other Furcons are.
-
I really liked Michigan too, but that's where the city Detroit is and I hear that it has the highest crime rate in the United States, I mean Modesto is bad *as the #1 car-theft city in the United States* but I don't want to end up somewhere worse =s
-
Want to try out Pennsylvania?
-
Pennsylvania sounds good :P
I hope there's furries and therians there though :-*
-
I couldn't tell you about how many Furries are in the Northeast, but it doesn't seem like much...
But Northeast/New England does how the cold weather and rural areas like you want.
I wouldn't recommend Maine (that's where I live), it's rural and cold but I don't know of any Furs around here.
-
I remember seeing a major Furcon hosted in PA. I don't know for sure though. You should research it.
-
Ah darn it, Maine was on my list, oh well, there's like 30 other different states to choose from for me anyways :)

I'm planning on researching that soon enough, I just wanted to spend a few days getting oriented with the community here first and see what everyone thinks about where good furry locations are.
-
Well the North East in general has the cold weather, and the wood lands your looking for, but I'm not really sure about the therian/furry part, it could have a group of them, but then I just don't know, but then you could always take a short visit and see for yourself and decide if you wanna go.
-
Yea I know, I'm gonna be doing a lot of traveling in my spare time to go places and meet furries and therians so I can find a nice little community.
-
just so you know, I didn't take offense at your first comment on this topic, I understand where your coming from with people trying to force beliefs onto you.
-
Well, Maine is a nice state, don't get me wrong, I love it here. We just don't have any Furcons that I know of and I don't know any other Furries...there might be some others but I don't really search for them.
Although...I did see some girl wearing a tail at Walmart a while back...
-
Yea I know, I heard Maine is nice, but I still wanna be close by lots of furries and therians. And yea... but let's not talk about that here Gabag, you know I don't want to stir up some trouble omg

sorry I get carried away....
anyways good luck with your traveling, and I hope you find the commune your lookin for.
yea I decided to get rid of the example, it's not appropriate for this topic/forum at all
-
Yea I've learned that talking about the more universally taboo things are never benefiting. No matter how much you criticize something, some people may agree but there will always be people who are going to stick with their guts against your opinions sometimes in an aggressive manner :shcoked:

the dollar has gone up it's like 87 cents or something now...
-
I wish it was worth exactly the same , because then I would definitely consider it more :D
