Winter Weather
« on: February 04, 2011, 05:57:43 AM »
who's enjoying the late winter weather (sorry for those that got tornadoes instead of snow  :S )

i love the cold!

OMG its sleeting hardcore in satx! this will shut down the city, and its nowhere near warm enough to melt it, its also flurrying, if snow gets better it should stick, and we'll have our first real snowstorm since 1985

lol that was also the last snow i ever saw, though i don't remember it, cause i was 1, we had come down from colorado to escape the snow back then and it followed us

XDOMG I love winter weather I live in the adirondacks in NY so I get a little more snow than most of the areas in NY lol. Some of the snow drifts are like taller than me. We get a lot of lake effect snow from Ontario. If you really like winter weather you should meet my Inuk relatives on Ellismeer island they've pretty much lived ice their whole lives.

oh wow, don't know if my body (which has lived in midsouth texas for all but 1 year of its life) could take that lol

this is a big deal for san antonio, is snowed, and stuck! its been just over 25 years since this has appened, yay, i finally get to see snow!

went out back and threw snowballs at my dogs who were like WTF?? what is this?

My brown lab tried to roll in it and wanted right back inside the warm house, little border collie didn't last long either (so much for irish blood), but big blond lab didn't wanna come in even after i wanted to go in cause i couldn't feel my hands lol, here's some pics, its about 1/2 inch thick around the cround, in some places its piled higher (couldn't call em snow drifts cause there's like no wind)

I love the snows! but not the gray snow that I got here now. Fresh powder snow is the best.

Oh that's nothing! Where I am right now, it gets down to -20 °c/-4 °f and I love it here. I took this very picture today as a matter of fact:

You haven't seen a real winter until your nose tingles with each breath and the loose snow reaches above your knees.

I live in the Midwest where the blizzard hit hard and in fact it was dubbed snowpocalypse here. It was bad enough for people to start scalping milk out in the parking lots. I however love the snow. It is about 6 inches or so here but in my hometown it is like 7 or 8 inches. We are also supposed to get hit by another storm here soon.

I refuse to believe the weather forecasters anymore.  Especially the local ones, because every single time since October they have predicted the weather, they have been wrong.  It hasn't snowed once, and I know I heard them say countless times things like, "We have a pretty good chance of heavy snowfall and ice" or something.  It hasn't done anything at all.  It's a big scam by the government to make people spend more money at the stores.
