Military minded Furs?
« on: April 01, 2014, 02:44:57 AM »
I'm 17 and enlisting next year in the Navy hoping to be a combat hospital corpsman.
Any other furs that are in/ or planning to be in the military, or just military minded? (Topic was changed due to low reply count)

I probably wouldn't post anything.

I don't know how to react to these things, and I don't really know you too well. :P

That's the thing! It's to see how much I've made an "impact" on the community. Just to see if anyone would remember me.

Well I know I will say that I would be losing a comrade and a personal friend. We have fought well together. . . Like that one time when he fell out of my plane. . . (that was not cause of death. or my fault) *crys and falls to knees* Of Why did he have to go so young
I am back. Please message me!

I don't know you too well, but on the announcement I would probably have a moment silence.
However the question is, if you're dead, how would any one know asides from you not being online ever again?

That's pretty much what I was going to say, if you're dead we will never know unless you know someone in real life that also frequents this forum.

Death threads DO pop up, say that he died so a furry friend of his posted a thread to say "X" (X = Message given by haden)

I'd observe it but wouldn't post anything, especially if the cause of death is unknown, I'd probably think it was fake tbh.

Social experiments work best when someone doesn't know it's a social experiment.

To be honest, I had no idea what to call it, so I just called it an experiment. It's more of a, see-how-you-made/if-you-made-a-difference thread,  since few know what it is like to see how they are remembered posthumously, and I forgot to mention that the hypothetical situation in question would occur as if the forum were a "small town."

You would probably get a better response in /k/ on 4chan. Personally I prefer the United States, I like my automatic blades and larger magazine guns, without being tied to the government.

Hooyah on lage capacity. I had a S&W 5946 9mm Parabellum. It was my father's service weapon as a cleveland police officer. When her retired, they let him keep it because they switched to glocks. He had 4 magazines of hollow points too...

Actually, I returned from Ft. Benning just six months ago. I tried to go Active Army Infantry, but on my 9 mile ruck march, I screwed up my legs real bad. Since they're cutting back so much, they just sent me home instead of sending me on con-leave. I can try to reenlist in two years, but it's unlikely that I'll be accepted, and I'll need a medical waiver.

But I still love to collect old militaria. You know when you're room is messy and someone says "you're room looks like a warzone"? Mine really does after I pull out all my packs, guns, and gear. In fact, over two thirds of my closet is uniforms, and the entire floor is a loaded rucksack and my two flak jackets.

You're telling me. I could barely walk, much less march or run, which angered the Drill Sergeants to no end. But of course, we had the PT test only two days after, which includes a 2 mile run, and the track is a mile away and we march to it then run back from it. I also didn't tell anyone that my legs were messed up, and then I ran that whole two miler, then the mile back to the barracks, and then the 1/4 mile to the chow hall. Somehow, I still managed to meet the 15:54 time hack on my 2 mile, but my legs were destroyed by the time we ran back to the barracks.
