Fursona/furry character gimmicks
« on: April 17, 2015, 04:56:02 PM »
If you don't know what I'm talking about let me briefly explain, over tha past year or so I've noticed the trend of characters with an affinity for an object or quirk (ex:mangoes, tennis balls, wanting to be feared etc) I don't mind these hinges but what are your thoughts on furs who use these sort of things? (The quirks or gimmicks can be anything really it just have to be a recurring obsession of the fur who uses it) if I'm still not clear enough feel free to ask questions.
Looking for other  furries to befriend :) Also I make cute art and I obviously love anything cute so if you have any cute pics then send them!

I have yet to see anyone with a thing for specific objects. However, the idea of someone demanding a certain attitude/emotion, such as fear or submissiveness, is pretty odd in my opinion, fursona or not (I've seen both). I respect the desicion of anyone who is like that, but I myself am definitely not one of those people with "gimmicks".

Honestly, I feel like in order for a character to be real, they are going to have some sort of quirks, as real people do. I'm unsure with what you mean given how you've worded it, but I do think there's a time where people overplay things or it comes off caricature-ish, though I think it has more to do with the person's lack of research in what they are trying to show.
