bipeds or quadrupeds??
« on: October 21, 2007, 11:01:48 PM »
hi
OK i was just wondering how many people prefer bipeds to quadrupeds (taurs) and vice-versa
personally i prefer taurs, but i still like bipeds.
its just my feline curiosity that makes me ask
so yea if you have anything to say on the subject your welcome to share it here
if you are reading this it is a complete waste of you time as it is completely mindless dribble
so while you are reading this you could be doing something useful.... so why are you still reading this!??

Nyx is bipedal and can also walk on fours when she prefers.

depends on what the RP calls for...

But I have to go with Vosur. I've never really thought about it or gave the idear a thought.

Well... I seem to prefer a bipedal version... but I have resorted to a quadrupedal version on a few instances... but I'll let you see for yourself. And note: this picture is at least 3 years old, way before I joined IMVU and not too long after I joined Gaia.

I'm a little confused. I guess by "bipeds" you mean four limbs total, and by "quadripeds" you mean six limbs total, but I don't really get if you consider animals like cats or dogs "bipeds" or "quadripeds" then, since in anthro form they may stand on two feet, but in animal form, they stand on four, making them quadripeds. Taurs, meanwhile, always stand on four feet.

Anyway, I can't really pick between any of them, however you mean it. They're both great in their own ways.

Yay. But you get your cookie back since you confused me in the first place.  :P

Basically what I was asking is what you mean by "biped" and "quadriped." (Aside from the obvious answer that biped=two feet and quadriped=four feet.) Because if you're talking about animal-people forms, cats and such can walk on two feet, but in animal form they walk on four. Thus, they could be bipeds or quadripeds.

Soooo, I guess my question really is, are you trying to ask "Anthros vs. animals & taurs?" or "Taurs vs. everything else?"

Quote from: "http://www.answers.com/biped&r=67"
IN BRIEF: n. - An animal with two feet adj. - Having two feet.

Tutor's tip: A "biped" is a two-footed animal, while a "bipod" is a two-legged stand.

Quote
Bipedalism is standing, or moving for example by walking, running, or hopping, on two appendages (typically legs). An animal or machine that usually moves in a bipedal manner is known as a biped (/'baɪ.pɛd/), meaning "two feet" (Latin bi = two + ped = foot).

Ah... alright. And a note for that picture, you'll notice something next to the wolf, take a good look at it.
