Furries: Clothes Or No Clothes?
« on: December 12, 2015, 10:32:58 PM »
I'm just looking for some opinions, so what do you think? Do you like anthros wearing clothes? Do you feel like they would need clothes? Or do you like it when furs are wearing nothing but fur?

I feel like it makes them look more "human" or "civilized." I've always thought they looked weird with just fur.

I kinda see it both ways, clothes would get annoying if you were already covered in fur. However, not everyone is comfortable with being nude.

I guess you could wear robes or something. Like a kilt. That might eliminate the irritation.

That would work. I think that nudes would be furs with thick, luxurious fur, who wouldn't want to show that off?

I think that fur would hide the stuff, not completely but enough. If not then that's when the kilt would come in.

I think it depends on the animal as well as how humanized they are. I generally like clothes that suit the anthro or don't impede their movement (like pants on digigrade legs have always made me wonder). This is also coming from someone who draws their fursona in their underwear like 80% of the time, though, too. Haha. I think clothes can work just fine on some anthros, but others it looks a bit silly.

I think this is much like the furries in shoes topic that was out earlier, it all depends on the artists' preference, and also how humanized the anthro is. For example, clearly shoes don't look funky on plantigrade feet, but shoes on a digigrade animal look a bit silly unless it's some sort of modified glove type thing to fit the feet.

I only draw Cecil in clothes, every other anthro I've drawn have been either naked or wearing underwear.

(And yes, this topic is very similar to the shoes one. I just wanted to change the subject to clothes in general, not shoes only.)

Clothes. Definitely.
I think that fur would hide the stuff, not completely but enough.
^This is what I consider important about clothes.

Even if you have incredibly fluffy, thick fur...it's definitely not going to hide enough to avoid public indecency. XP

My anthro characters normally wear clothes. In my headcanon, they're not really prudish about nudity, but they prefer to wear clothes as a style preference or sign of social status.

I'm of the opinion that no clothing but having fur means you aren't naked in the way humans are. I'm okay with no clothes, but my OCs usually wear clothes to make sure it doesn't offend anyone.
