I used to play.  I tried going to Friday Night Magic a few times but got my butt handed to me so much.  Everyone was friendly and tried to get me better cards and stuff but I don't have the budget to make the kind of decks that are needed in order to be good.

That's the problem I have, I love to play but I don't have a ton of money to upgrade my deck with and as a result I often lose.  >.>

I feel you all. My problem is that there are no other good players around me and I ended up wiping out friends with a selensya heroic/ Bestow cards. (Basically like one rare). My friends do the you know, 100 orzhov deck. 20 land..... yeah...

Friday night is too far away for me ;-;.

I don't really play anymore really but I was pretty decent into Magic for a long while. I ran a pretty fun Golgari color deck that was something to be feared in my kitchen table environment, or at least it was. Nothing like hearing a groan when you get out a Spiritmonger or Vampire Nighthawk with Rancor.
