[Completed] A Single New Emote

This is likely a quick and easy fix, but I really think we should have one new emoticon: A Sir! Just your typical gentleman fox (or dragon or wolf or cat, depending on what tileset everyone is using). He will be wearing a monocle and a mustache. Possibly even a tophat. It should look vaguely similar to the attached picture, but should still follow the style of all the other emotes at the same time.

I don't know how feasible this is, but I've just come across so many instances where this would be perfect.

A possible shortcut for the emote could be P3 or P) or something like that.

There actually used to be an old emoticon suggestions thread a long time ago but I'm fairly certain it's long gone.

I remember there was quite a few ones that'd been requested indeed but unfortunately not a whole lot ever happened. I did request a few ones as well, including this one which I actually ended up making a mockup for:

So on emoticons here is the current state we are at.


Zephyr was the artist who designed all our emoticons on the site and she is no longer active, which means currently we have no artist to do emoticons. I wouldn't mind an artist doing emoticons like Timmy has, however if you are to do emoticons you can't just do them for the foxes, you really need to do them for every single emoticon theme that exists (tigers, stuff like that).


If however, someone was willing to do that, I would be fine with adding new emoticons to the website

If Timmy would do the foxes, I could do the rabbits and the dragons. I'd follow Timmy's lead so the designs are similar on different creatures.
Once those three animals are done, I wouldn't mind picking others up.

We don't have any avian smileys. We currently have cat, wolf, dragon, fox, bear, rabbit, mouse, cagon, tiger, leopard and snow leopard. Besides those there is also an option for the standard smileys (the yellow face ones) and an option to not see smileys at all.

I actually still have the collection of the emoticon I posted made for (I believe) each of the different species.

I should perhaps add that I do recall Zephyr was quite against using them however as she wanted to make them herself. This was however back in 2011, so quite a lot has changed since then (though no new emoticons were ever added).

Being reasonably familiar with Photoshop and all that, it shouldn't be too much trouble for me to modify the existing emoticons to create new ones (just like I did those just there). So I might be able to create some variations or new ones based on the existing ones based on what gets requested.

Oh Timmy, before the emoticons become available I think you might want do one of those with a heart for smiley set 'default' as well. It is also a smileys option that needs to be kept in mind when you're adding new emoticons to the site.

Not sure about adding more species since that's a little more complicated than just modifying the expression on the existing ones but I guess I could give it a try in my spare time.

Just doing a few expressions and such that we don't already have should be easy enough however!

We also have a smiley set called "default" with these:


However, almost half of the smileys from this set is made out of the forum default foxes, and some smileys seem to have the wrong expression. I don't know if it really matters if you make one for this smiley set or not...
