A friend of mine started on the first audiobook in the "His Dark Materials" (The Golden Compass) trilogy. She told me that it instantly reminded her of me...
She didn't know if it was the adventure or the fantasy or the steampunk themes or something else, but she really thought of me right at the first chapter. She knows I like the fantasy genre of games and books but nothing more. I'm not saying this to impress anyone or even hint at it. I just thought it curious.
But the real reason I started this topic was to maybe see if anyone had read it? Thoughts? Maybe some of you have a book to recommend along the same lines? I haven't read the series yet, but I have the three audio books awaiting on my computer till I have finished Equal Rites. I liked the movie though, but there were details I didn't like as much. But I assume they won't be as bothersome or maybe they'll be gone completely on paper?
