Your Story

Marf, I wrote this (very) short story for my English class, and I liked how it came out. I mean, I REALLY liked how it came out. I touched it up a little (surely could use some more of that though) and posted it to my art gallery... But not many people search through art galleries for short stories, do they? So I decided to post the story in other places, out of a want to share it with plenty of people =3 I hope you guys and gals enjoy it!

Your Story
By Crash

You knew choosing the detour would be a mistake. There you were, yourself and your battle magicians for hire facing off against a monstrous fifteen foot-tall werewolf, its messy gray fur stained with mud, dirt and blood. You could tell that this would be a tough battle as you unlatched your enormous blade from the holster on your back, while your supporter and restorer prepared their magical necklaces and amulets for combat use. The werewolf hunkered down into a predatory stance, clearly ready to maul, gouge, and eviscerate. It was clear that there would be no escape from this battle; If the three of you were to continue living, the monster would have to die.

You let out a shout as you lunged forward into a charge, about to strike a mighty downwards blow. Your weapon was heavy and cumbersome, but you knew how to wield it. Unfortunately, as you executed your attack, you caught a terrifying glimpse of the creature's evil grin; You had been misled into your attack. The werewolf easily evaded your weapon with a nimble step, took a mighty grip on your left arm, and effortlessly crushed the bones within to pieces. You dropped your blade, it much too heavy for only one arm, and fell to the ground, yelling and writhing in agony. The monster snarled as it left you there, turning its back to you and beginning to approach your mercenaries menacingly, hungering for the magical tools and trinkets they wore.

You were in such great pain that you couldn't even stand. You were, however, able to turn your head and adjust your gaze to see your magicians' faces. They were smiling at you; They had a plan. As the werewolf came closer and closer to the two of them, you caught sight of a few of their amulets glowing with magic. You barely stifled your scream as your bone and arm were suddenly mended from within, it feeling even more painful that having it crushed in the first place. A moment later, your arm was restored and fully functional again; The searing pain had entirely vanished. As you slowly and quietly stood up, you felt a strange weightlessness in your weapon. You realized that your other partner used some of her own magic as well to enchant your mighty sword.

With a renewed body and a feather-light blade, you dashed even quicker than before towards the monster, him being mere feet away from your allies by this point and eager to take a chomp out of one of them. It heard you moments before your strike and spun around suddenly, its fist extended in an attempt to wallop you. You were prepared for this, and you dodged the attack with a gentle ducking of your head before plunging the floaty sword into your foe's chest, it yelping as the tip of the weapon protruded from its back. After a moment of silence, it fell and crumpled in a pool of blood.

You gave your party members a thankful smile as you recovered your blade from the beast's body, and they returned the expression. After a moment's rest, the three of you moved onward, proceeding deeper into the maze-like dungeon. And all the while I watched you from the shadows, eluding your vision. When the moment was right, you would fall to my power and perish, and my meticulously recorded chronicle of your journey would be in need of a new hero. Your story will become mine.
