OCD- MY PUPPET MASTER
I was once a normal person,
Now an empty husk,
Only to feel the torment of the same routine.
I am emotionless,
You're out to get me,
The plague is everywhere,
I've done it plenty of times,
Plenty of times,
Plenty of times.
I have been picked on,
Called names,
And kicked around.
I am sub-human.
I beg and plea to a dead god to set me free,
Only to feel the wrath of my own self loathing.
I am wasteful.
This is the fifth-sixth-seventh time in a row I've washed my hands.
It was for my own existence in danger.
I am an asshole.
I don't, can't take out the trash.
I am empty,
Not who I used to be,
Who I used to be,
Who I used to be.
Did I lock the door?
Lock-lock-lock-lock-lock.
I sob at night for I am alone,
I am alone,
I am alone.
I beg and plea to a non-existent god to set me free,
And sever my strings.
I am not who I once was.
I am empty inside.
I am dead.
All I wanted was to be happy,
And not the inhuman caricature you made me.
I am not human.
I
Am
Dead
Inside.

NOTE:Hey everyone, this is an aspiring writer's rough draft of a poem that isn't based on rhyme scheme, rhythm, or traditional poetic sequence. It was only to express my life long battle with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, AKA OCD. I have the proper medicine and I am being treated. I just wanted to let other furs that are dealing with a similar problem know that you are not alone. I won't lie, some days still get to me, but this was in its intended purpose to be a way of storytelling with poetry. I want the reader to know how bleak and depressing life gets for those with these types of problems. The reason I'm sharing this on the forum, is because I feel that the furry fandom is very supportive, mainly because we have had our fair share of hardships. I feel YOU all are just so awesome, and I wanted to write this as a form of expression, and ultimately gratitude to you all. Putting it bluntly, YOU ARE ALL AWESOME!!! -Cori.

Haden's Writings!

THE DOG AND HIS OWNER'S GARDEN
There was a dog whose owner had a garden. Her owner had one of what seemed every flower. Every morning, the dog went around sniffing the flowers. She always loved the smell of each flower, but her favorite was by far the rose. One morning she had gone out with his owner to work on the garden as the two did every morning. The dog, as she had done every morning, sniffed each flower. She had started in the front of the garden, full of sun and lively, to the heavily shaded area that received the most water because it was directly under the home's drain-pipe. She made it down to the furthest corner of the garden where the rose was. She liked the rose, but its beauty was short lived, for its scent was masked by the rainwater's stench that spewed from the drain-pipe, and it had been eaten away at parts by insects. Every time she had gone in closer to try and get a better whiff, its scent never changed. She never understood why her owner would put the most beautiful flower in the back, let alone under the drain-pipe. The dog's favorite evening activities were soon drowned by a thunderous rainstorm that hadn't dried up for another two days. Once the rain subsided, and the moisture had been evaporated, she and the owner had taken the dog out for the usual garden maintenance. As she did routinely, the dog started in the front of the garden. Not too long after, the owner had a flower in her hand as he walked back to the compost heap. To  the dog's dismay it was the rose! Her favorite flower! She rushed to his owner's side, jumping up to see the flower.
"What is it Girl? It's just a rose. We can plant a marigold in it's place. How about that?" Her owner said as she pet her beloved dog's head. That evening, the dog sat by her owner's side by the fireplace thinking to herself.
"If only I had gotten to smell the rose's real scent, it's loss would be less of a burden."
The dog continued her life as she would, but every time she was outside with her owner in the garden, she only sat by the compost heap, mourning the loss of her beloved plant. In her eyes, it was the most beautiful looking, and smelling, plant she had ever had the pleasure of seeing.

Dedicated to my great grandmother Zelda Rose B. who passed on October 31, 2013. I wish I knew you better.

A tribute to the furry ones

I was alone.
Abandoned by my own kind.
I wore a mask of happiness,
But what lied underneath was cold isolation.
That was until a Wolf-Fox spoke to me.
It was rather odd looking,
Being of human stature.
I thought he would harm me as my own had,
But there was a softness in his voice,
A warmth that melted my icy interior from the never ending plagues of my cold isolation.
Who was it?
Could it have been...
Me?
It was.
I was quickly consumed by a feeling of joy,
I was allowed to be me.
I walked the earth and met some interesting people.
A kind Wolf-Raccoon,
A talented writing Fox,
An awesome gun loving Coyote,
And a Raccoon that quickly became one of my closest friends.
With these people, I was given an inner strength to accept who I am on the inside.
Without these people I wouldn't be the fun loving,
Amateur poem writing,
Adventure seeking,
All around happy Wolf-Fox you see today.
Gracias,
Merci,
Danke,
And thank you Furries,
For making me whole.

Vietnam's cost.

Sent overseas by Uncle Sam,
Only to be spat upon.
We are men,
not monsters.
We are brothers,
Sons,
Fathers,
And friends.
Our blood soaked the jungle's ground,
Yet you spit on us.
Don't you love us?
Am I not your brother?
Your son?
Your father?
Please...
I want you to love me,
Even with what the war did to me.
If you were there, you'd have seen your best friend get split in half by explosives,
Your brother stabbed to death,
Your son impaled by spikes,
And your father's guts spill from his open chest.
Still don't love me?
Just remember we have to live with that.

Dedicated to the Vietnam War Veterans who were disrespected when they returned home.

Day after day it's bringing you to your knees
all's okay, then everything crumbles
And all that you perceive is blowing away

He said I've been watching you dad, ain't that cool
I'm your buckaroo, I wanna be like you
And eat all my food and grow as tall as you are

In touch with the ground
I'm on the hunt I'm after you
Smell like I sound I'm lost in a crowd
and I'm hungry like the wolf
Straddle the line it's discord and rhyme
I howl and I whine I'm after you
my mouth is alive and running inside
and I'm hungry like the wolf

Thank you! I'm just an amateur writer that writes what's on my mind. When I started the Vietnam War poem, I was going to make it about WWII veterans. One thing led to another, and this came out. Either way, I tried my best on both! :D

Momma Don't You Cry

Silent is the night in which I fall,
Blood spilled upon the sand.
Silent is my call,
Never to be heard across the land.
Coming home in a box,
Never to see my mother's tears.
Your baby boy is dead,
It's the worst of your fears.
When I am buried under,
I paid my debt.
Know this mom,
I was a dog, Uncle Sam's beloved pet.
Uncle Sam loved me so,
I just wanted to let you know.
He clothed me, fed me, and let me fight,
So please, don't cry tonight.
I bet you're lonely now I'm gone,
No one to talk to or mow the lawn.
I love you, just remember me,
And in your heart, I'll always be.
As you hold my tags, don't you cry,
In your heart, I didn't die!
I'm gone, don't ask why,
But please momma, please don't cry.

To our Fallen Heroes.

Nice writing! :D

I especially like your poems about the military. Really sums up the madness of war.

Thank you! My family moved to the U.S. From Ireland in the 1600's, and has fought in every war we could! I had a colonel in the confederacy, great grandfather on Omaha during D-Day, his son, my grandfather, was almost deployed to Vietnam (we left shortly after he finished basic) as a Marine, my dad and his two brothers were in the navy during the gulf war (my dad was a "Nuke" and his brothers were corpsman), and I'm going to be a Navy Combat Corpsman (Navy field medic that fights with Marines). War runs in the Murphy blood I guess. :|

That's awesome!!! I usually collect any militaria I can! I had a WWII U.S. Helmet, some ACU's, and a (I think) Vietnam war mini generator bag.

Boss. I have some stuff from WWII as well. I mostly collect Soviet stuff (eeeeyy I'm Russian) but I have a little bit of everything from both the allies and the axis powers. A lot of it is in storage but I should bust it out eventually and show it off. :3
