Tiberius is accepted under the special circumstances category.
he was a slave of the legion and only a few years younger than the future legate Seeva, and saved the young snow leopards life from a falling boulder.
they then became friends even though it was highly looked down upon even though Tiberius had saved the life of the legion cub.
even though from that day forward Seeva would meet with his friend and give him and his friends extra food when the slave masters weren't looking.
it was at one of these visits that Tiberius handed Seeva an amulet made of an old piece of sword shined to perfection attached to what looked like an old shoelace.
as Seeva grew he worked and trained hard causing him to advance through the legions ranks rapidly at a young age of 16 the acting Legate of the time caught Seeva delivering extra food to the slaves and was about to execute them with his own sword, for "corrupting" a legion member. at this point Seeva Challanged the legate with the right of ascension (a challenge to death or yield and banishment for the right to be called legate) in an attempt to save his friend even though his chances of survival were slim. he felt he had to at least try to repay the debt he owed to Tiberius.
the challenge was a duel with gladius machetes and no armour in the pit fighters ring. the slaves who Seeva had been helping were forced to watch and should Seeva lose, be executed on the spot.
the fight began and even thoough Seeva was a skilled fighter he was no true match for the legate and started to lose taking cuts to his arms legs and chests and he was yet to touch the Legate.
Seeva realised he was being toyed with. he felt he was going to die, but at least it was an honorable death worthy he felt of any living creature to die trying to protect ones friends.
the legate swung forward and landed a blow across Seeva's face damaging his left eye beyond hope of repair.
Seeva fell to his knees and lost grip of his gladius which scattered awy out of reach, the crowd of watchers jeered at him.
he raised his head up and looked into the sunlight and as the legate approached to deliver the killing blow he asked "will you yield young one?"
" I will not! " he turned his head to look at his friend once more "I'm Sorry Tiberius I was no match for him." as he turned his head back to face the Legate the amulet Tiberius had mad for him spun and caught the sunlight, reflecting it straight into the Legated eyes, blinding him momentarily.
Seeva saw this as a miracle a Chance given to him by fate and he forced himself upright and pulled the amulet from around his neck. lunged at the legate and ended his life in one blow to the neck. the crowd went silent. and stared at the scene in front of them thier legate dead at the feet of young legionary barely out of scout training.
Seeva then collapsed and blacked out from blood loss. and when he awoke he was the youngest Legate that ever lived.
and in 3 years he abolished his Legions use of slaves and instead provided them homes, care and paid them for their work and had them treated as equals of the Empires citizens and trying to bring other Species into the legion.
he also trained his Friend Tiberius in battle and promoted him to 4th Tribune. they are not often separated for their friendship became as strong as iron.
