The Arctic Islands were a wonderfully exotic place for one to behold. Everything about the Islands had a new and exciting feel to a newcomer stepping onto the cold shores. Hundreds, perhaps even thousands, of years of isolation had given them their own, unique community.
There was a young fox by the name of Mitsune. Mitsune Fox to be specific. Though, she hadn't heard anyone speak her surname in years. She had already arranged meeting with a group of poachers in this spot, meeting a representer at one of the many sleezy pubs.
On the diplomatic island of Slimtla, the towns and cities thrived under the influence of the rest of Feila. A whole new plethora of goods were introduced, including agricultural products. The trading port of Okipok was no exception to this new rule. Once just a small village that was home to mainly Foxes, Wolves, malamutes and dragons it's key location of the shores of Slimtla near Shiya made it's population skyrocket. The natives here had assimilated with the merchants of Feila looking to make it big in the new world. Marketplaces arranged in long lines parallel to the shore were established, and ports were built for boats of all manners and sizes. And while many 'proper' houses and buildings had been built (some still in the process) there were still small pockets of traditional huts. Not igloos, mind you. Igloos were only temporary homes built for long hunting trips.
Sitting quite contently on one of the many crates brought off of the large boats was a young Fox. Like the rest, she was covered in only a few layers of furs and Clothing. Even though it was the middle of one of the arctic's harsh winters, the young fox had the upper hand over the 'newcomers.' Hundreds of generations living in this land before she granted the malamute a wonderfully thick coat that hardly needed covering at all.
The fox was barely 15 years old, an age at which the natives were considered full-blown adults. Showing off her fox heritage marvelously was an almost Pale-gray pelt, with a few dark-gray markings on the tips of her ears, her tail, and up her arms and legs. A prime example of Fox fur, her coat was almost sherbert in places, and her underbelly a stark white. A long, fluffy tail was rested on the crate, sometimes swaying whenever she got the urge.
A small shard of a crystal was tied around her neck, signifying more than most would know. The way it was tied, bound in leather, showed that she was a willing guide to the many crystal caves just outside of Okipok. However, this was an illegal act, to guise foreigners to the caves, so she couldn't just right and advertise her knowledge. Most other native would look down on the young fox for her willingness to defile the caves. However, in her mind, a fox had to stay alive somehow.
