Angder continued his work for some time, the shift was almost at an end in fact when he noticed the tiger standing right behind him, one of the guards.
He paused his work, and perked his ears up, first mistake. The tiger saw this and immediately grabbed the back of his collar.
"Pausing work? Are you nervous about something? Or do you just enjoy wasting time?"
Angder stammered slightly "You... You were standing right behi-"
The Tiger pulled on the collar and then let go, Angder yelped as he fell backwards onto the floor, the tiger then crouched down next to him. "Feeling guilty? did something wrong did we?"
"N... No... I just thought-" Angder tried to get up, but the tiger pushed him down with one paw.
"Well you paused your work! so you did something wrong!" The tiger examined the wolf in front of him, and noted the number on its collar
"So... 54? do you enjoy your job here?"
"wha... what?"
"you know that if you have done something wrong... well, there are worse things than death for those such as you..."
Angder tried to hide his fear, but could not help but tense up "But... But... I haven't done anything..."
The tiger Grinned seemed to examine Angder carefully, The tiger flicked the side of Angder's muzzle, causing him to flinch, after a long pause, the tiger got to his feet and looked to the side at someone Angder could not see, "It was not him" He stated simply, "It was someone further up" The tiger glanced back down at Angder and smirked "In case I am wrong though..." The Tiger kicked Angder in the leg, hard, Angder yelped again, above him, he could see a pair of medics watching eagerly, so he tried to hide the pain he was in. The Tiger smirked when he realized what Angder was doing. "Worse things than death" He whispered, just loud enough for Angder to hear. and then he walked further up, watching each worker carefully, picking his next target.
As the tiger moved away, Angder climbed to his feet, he was badly shaken, but neither his back or his leg were seriously injured. He moved over to his seat, trying to hide his limp, and returned to work, despite the fact he was shaking, some part of him was... excited? He had fooled the guard, he HAD done something wrong, and yet the tiger had missed it! He smiled to himself at that thought. He risked a glance upwards, the medics were no longer intrested in him, he could finally relax, he had gotten away with just a couple of bruises, bruises he would have ended up with anyway he had no doubt.
A few minutes later, the shift ended, Angder got up and moved to get fed with the rest of the workers. There was a time when this part of the day was nightmarish, but now it was the only thing Angder looked forward to in the day, and his only chance to talk with the other workers, and it was one of only two chances to eat...
