The year is 40,001, Humanity is at it's peak. Due to the fact that no wars are fought anywhere, ever, Humanity and other races banded together and founded the sport "DeathMatch". It is held in a large arena type building with enough seats to house a small country inside. Global satellites are prepared to capture the footage and stream it live to viewers at home. At first the only arena combatants were war criminals, promised with pardons for their actions if they fought each other to the death. The sport's rising popularity and technological advances has allowed arena combatants to defy death, even when they have lost. Weaponry of the past, future, and fantasy are all allowed, and the arena changes scenery to the Arena Master's liking. The current Arena Master, Khairne, rules the arena with an iron fist. Renowned for his 1000-0 win/loss streak, he is a fearsome combatant, able to rend even the toughest of combatants. In a desire to get better gladiators, he has released a competition to any soldiers, bounty hunters, and otherwise proficient in arms usage, with a hefty prize of 100,000,000,000 dollars on the line. You are one of these new combatants, trying to make a name for yourself, or fighting for other reasons. Whatever they may be. WELCOME TO DEATHMATCH!!!

Phoenix walked up to the entrance of the Arena. A whistle escaped her lips as she looked at the gate way.

"LADIES AND GENTS, WELCOME TO DEATHMATCH!!!!!" "Today we have a really special show for you tonight, we have Malak the Blood Soaked Loony, GOING UP AGAINST JEREMY THE TANK!!!!!!"
*Malak the Blood Soaked Loony is a scrawny man, with a chainsaw.... in very very light armor...*
*Jeremy the Tank is a man in overly heavy armor, with shoulder mounted plasma cannons, and Servo-Claws*

Philly looked up from his table and looked at the tv.  He was eating lunch in his home, contemplating what he could do to get his life back on track.  He wasn't the same after being kicked off of the police force.  "If only I get somehow get on this Deathmatch showm I would finally be complete again"  He said to himself, taking a sip from his mug.

[Gabag]

*after the fight going on for a couple of minutes, Malak the blood soaked loony is finally knocked down, and apparently is hurt very bad*
"SHOULD I LET HIM LIVE FOLKS?????"
*a large "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO" comes from the crowd*
"Ok Jeremy, you know what to do!"
*Jeremy charges up both of his plasma cannons and aims them toward's Malak's face, and the next thing, Malak is just a puddle of green ooze*
"HAHAHAHAH THAT WAS GREAT JEREMY!, and no unfortunately, time for a commercial....."

*switches to commercial*
"Do you need to get your life back on track, do you need somewhere to vent your anger, or are you just a homicidal manaic. If so, COME ON DOWN TO THE ARENA, WHERE THERE'S A FIGHT EVERY DAY AND IT'S GONNA FULFILL YOUR BLOODLUST!!!! AND NOW ANYONE CAN BE A GLADIATOR, AND WIN 500,000,000,000$ IF THEY SIGN UP TODAY AT THEIR LOCAL ARENA!!!!!"

Upon hearing the commercial all Philly could think was "Wow, that was convienent and a bit creepy."  he heads over to his closet and opens the door.  When he was on the police force he was designing his own suit and weapons to use out on the field, but they wouldn't let him on the field because of his age.  When he got kicked out he had thrown what he had been working on in the closet.  He grabs the suit and puts it on, then reaches up on the top shelf and grabs his weapons and straps them in their place on his suit.  "Well now I just need to find a local arena"

After watching a few matches, live, Phoenix decided that she wanted to join. "This seems quite the battle. I need a bit of excitement in my life." She had enjoyed the matches. The blood, oddly, excited her. I wonder why we have resulted to such brutality though? She pondered to herself.

Philly walked the streets of his town, heading for the nearest local arena.  When he finally arrived, he walked in the office and asked for an application to battle at the main arena.  After signing up, Philly was told he would heve to wait another day or so for a transport to the main arena.  Sitting down, he says "I'm ready to get out there in the action right now!  I can hardely stand just sitting here and waiting for my chance to finally be somebody again."

Appearing out of the teleporter to greet the newest of the new gladiators, Khairne stood fully armored and fully armed, to scare the crap out of anyone he met. Unfortunately his battle standard was less then imposing, being the figure over a small armored kitten with weaponry, it betrayed his fearsome appearance, because he really loved cats. "Welcome New Bloods, to the Arena, I am Kharine, Arena Master, and soon to be the one man you never want to see, but end up seeing every day." "Today, you shall step through this teleporter, and you shall be given a dorm, and all the necessities to live away from home. DONT GET COMFORTABLE MAGGOTS, IF YOU DO I WILL FIND YOU!!!!"

Philly stands up and looks Khairne up and down.  "Your a very frightening character, do you know that?  Anyways I believe I was promised some amount of cash?"

[Gabag]

"Listen lil' man, you step through this teleporter, or i'll rip your arms off, you'll sign up there also I like the compliment people usually just agree with whatever I said, NOW GET IN THE 'PORTER MAGGOT!"

[Philly Tanuki]

"Alright alright I'm going.  Just don't rip my arms off.  I kinda need them"  Philly says chuckling and stepping through the teleporter, unaware of what might be on the other side waiting for him.  He appears in a dimly lit room filled with different teleporters that he assumed led to other arenas.  in the middle of the room was a projection of the signup list on a white screen and a keyboard on a pedestal in front of it.  He walked over to the keyboard and typed his name in and watched as it appeared on the screen.  "Well I guess now I wait to be escorted to my room."

Walking through the Teleporter and watching Philyl sign up he says "You need to find your own Room Lil' Man, it's survival of the fittest, and the fit dont wait for escorts, you find em on your own, if someone has the room you want, kick the crud outta em."

[Philly Tanuki]

"I have to find my own room?  Well I guess I'll just grab the first room I come upon."  Philly says heading out the door and walking down the hall.  "that guy creeps me out." he thinks to himself.  After walking for about 5 minutes Philly comes across a room where someone was being wheeled out on a gurney.  "This room is as good as any I suppose" he said walking into the room and sitting down on his new bed.

Nix glared at the gladiator, but followed his orders. I have to deal with this guy?! Lets see how long I live... she thought to herself as she stepped into the porter.
