RP: A Tiger's Stripes

It was a normal Monday morning, and outside a modest little house in the suburbs stood a Siberian Tiger kicking a soccer ball around his front yard, small netted goals sat either side of his driveway. The neighbours were used to this tiger's behaviour, always getting up early and going for jogs, going to the gym frequently, kicking his soccer ball around his yard and so forth. His name was Lee-Jay. "Hyaa!" he grunted, kicking the soccer ball into the net on the other side of his drive way, bouncing up and down at his twentieth goal that morning. With a sigh, he sat down and sipped from his water bottle, looking at the cars driving by.

A German Shepherd was across the street, walking while talking on the phone. He was a bit angry at the person on the end of the line. He hung up with an angry grunt. He suddenly looked across the road and saw someone playing soccer. He ran over, not really bothered by the fact he didn't know the guy.
"Hey, mind if I join?" He asked, smiling slightly. He was wearing sweat pants and a T-shirt, and had clearly been doing something fun beforehand.

Lee-Jay stood and nodded, a smile on his face. "Sure, I've been itching to play a game with someone but all my friends are really busy today," he spoke, retrieving the ball and kicking it gently towards the German Shepherd "Sure, you get first move. Oh, yeah, and my name's Lee-Jay. Call me LJ," he said with a smirk, often forgetting to introduce himself first, tail swishing with eagerness to start playing, poised almost looking ready to pounce.

[Dadison]

"Alright, nice to meet you LJ. Name's Dadison, but my friends call me Daye for short." Dadison smiled as he saw the ball coming towards him. He attempted to start juggling it, and succeeded until he suddenly fell backwards. "Whoa!" He quickly caught himself, shaking off the adrenaline. "Sorry, I'm a bit rusty." He chuckled a little, and tried again. "So, one on one?" Dadison asked, excited to play soccer again for the first time in a while.

"Yeah one-on-one, and it's awesome to meet ya!" Lee-Jay greeted, seeing the ball rolling towards him, he stopped it with his foot and then began to juggle it on his knees before kicking it back towards Dadison "So, you seemed a little steamed off just then... would it be too personal of me to ask what was going on?" the tiger asked, brushing hair from his face, a smile on his lips.

[Dadison]

Dadison thought for a moment, trying to remember. "Oh! Right, uh... Yea, my friend was kinda upset that I couldn't help her study yesterday. She loves to guilt trip me," he replied shrugging. "Anyway," Dadison suddenly started to sneak toward the soccer goal with the ball, and eventually began to run. He prepared to make a shot on the goal.

Caught off guard for once, Lee-Jay went one way whilst Dadison went the other, kicking the ball into the goal. He was amazed, jaw dropping, looking to the other male "I... w-wow. Heh, pretty good. You're pretty much the first person I know to kick a goal past me. Ok, round two! You're not going to get another goal past me!" the tiger spoke excitedly, ear twitching, getting the ball out of the goal and swiftly kicking the ball as he ran, trying to kick it straight past the German Shepherd.

[Dadison]

Dadison didn't think, pressuring the attack, and quickly attempted to nutmeg LJ. He kicked the ball, and shuffled backwards just in case he may not have succeeded.

Reacting quickly, the tiger swivelled on his heel and caught the ball underfoot, quickly returning the friendly fire and attempting once again to manoeuvre it past Dadison, kicking it firmly. Already, he was tiring.

[Dadison]

Dadison quickly grumbled and tried again, taking the ball once he saw a good opportunity. He sprinted, hoping he'd be fast enough to be able to take the shot. Suddenly, he took the shot, sending himself in the air, only to tumble and end up on his back. Meanwhile, the ball was going way off course, over the goal and landing about thirty feet from it. Dadison chuckled.

Crimson dragon eyes watched the game from nearby. The eyes belonged to a young boy, around the age of those playing the game of soccer. He had human looks, but a swishing lion tail - something he got from his mother.

Go out, make new friends, play with the other kids - you'll have a great time, Mom said. Right, as if I'm supposed to get along with kids who think me a freak, the boy thought. He heaved a sigh, then began his approach. On his back were twin wooden rods with squared handguards he used for sword practice - something he did quite often, something his father had mandated. Given what Tyber had heard of his parents' past... he didn't blame him.

When Tyber reached the boys, he struggled to speak. "Uh... hi... can... what... what are... you doing?" His tail swished nervously behind him.

Lee-Jay noticed the kid, stopping to take a breath and sip from his water bottle "Hey, just playing some soccer. You know, if you want to play you can; I'm not stopping you" he spoke in a friendly tone, picking the soccer ball up and gently kicking it towards the lion-tailed kid with a smile "What's your name? I'm Lee-Jay, and this is Dadison" the tiger spoke, stretching.

Any other kid would relax to some degree. Not this one. "I... I'm... Drakona." He paused, then corrected himself. "Tyber Drakona. My mom, dad and I just moved here. Dad... well, wanted to settle down for a while. Mom... mom, too." He shook slightly, and the shaking got slightly worse, as though he were cold.
