Good Movie/Video game soundtracks?
« on: February 19, 2012, 05:21:15 AM »
(Not sure whether this was done before, I did a search and couldn't find anything so...)

So what are some of your favourite movie and video game soundtracks, OST's from awesome movies and video games?

I'll post some examples :P

Summer Overture-Requiem for a Dream(Soundtrack)
The Way Back Soundtrack-Tibet (Burkhard Dallwitz)
Clint Mansell - Moon OST #1 - Welcome to Lunar Industries
The Binding of Isaac OST - 3# The Binding of Isaac
Mass Effect - Ending Song

Post yours :D

probably one of my favorite movies/series ever.  Moby - Extreme Ways (Bourne's Ultimatum)

I find the inception soundtrack to be overplayed...but it is nonetheless stunning. This is my favorite track from the film, and it stirs emotions deep within me.
Inception Soundtrack HD - #12 Time (Hans Zimmer)

I enjoy the halo tracks very much, but this is one of my favorites from it :D  this one's just got a really smooth epic sense too it, not too much though :D
In Amber Clad (extended) - Halo 2 soundtrack

the soundtrack from 3:10 to Yuma was very nice :D

Never heard that first one before! It's pretty awesome though :D

Here's a few more I just remembered hehe :P

Saw Theme Music (Extended)
One of the greatest horror movie soundtracks ever made. Though IMO the movie itself doesn't live up to the soundtrack XD
Kill Bill vol. 2 Soundtrack - About Her (Malcolm Mclaren)
Ah, a great soundtrack in perfect timing within this movie. Love it :D
In the House, In a Heartbeat - John Murphy
Best Zombie Soundtrack Ever... Period.

Though I never actually played the "God Of War" games, when I saw that my favorite Progressive Metal band Dream Theater made a soundtrack for the game, I fell in love with the song  :* Here it is, called Raw Dog (ironicly, if you switch it all up, it makes War God XP which is prety clever :D)

Dream Theater - Raw Dog [HD] (God Of War III: Blood & Metal)

Jet Grind Radio/Jet Set Radio Future.

The ever-expanding library of Rock Band 3 songs (almost up to, if not past 3500 at this point).

Bomberman Hero will always hold a special place in my heart, as well as Pokemon Red/Blue.

As far as movies go, Spirited Away and Howl's Moving Castle have great STs, and Waking Life has interesting music as well, but it really compliments the film itself- it's not all that interesting on it's own.

Movies
-------
More of a series, followed by a movie, Revolutionary Girl Utena.
Had 8 total soundtracks, but the best song off all of them, to me, was "No One Has Anything To Say", from the first season, as well as the "Zettai Unmei Mokushiroku" that was used in the movie.

A Tale Of Two Sisters also had a stellar soundtrack.

Games
------
Dead Space. That stuff was MEGA creepy. not anything I'd save to a hard drive or mp3 player, as it's only reall good for the game, but it was good. Especially that creepy "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" in the opening credits! JEEEEEZ!
I'm a devil, but I'm not bad most of the time. Okay I'm only bad some of the time. Okay maybe I'm bad all of the time. ;D

I heart Girls Generation! <3

Silent Hill soundtracks have plenty of vocal and ambient tunes to suit you. The White Chamber OST also has nice, creepy songs. But that's for creepy.

Obviously the Final Fantasy series has beautiful music.

Elfen Lied had a beautiful song or two in it, or one song used different ways.

An unheard of game called Grandia 3 had pretty songs, to my memory.

One of my favorite movie soundtracks is the one from Spirited Away. The Labyrinth OST also has lots of fun songs.

I've heard of it.  I own Grandia 2 for Dreamcast.
