I've always wanted to get into drawing but never found myself really wanting to go into it,  any advice on how to get into it?

Go to a stationary shop and buy a pencil and a book to draw in.

If you want, you can pick up a few different grades of pencils. Not sure how it works where you are, but HB is the standard then H-H9 are harder and lighter and B-B9 are softer and darker.

Some shops do a pencil set that ranges about H5-B5, but any pencil will do.

From there its just a matter of opening the book and sketching.

You can look up tutorials online to study various aspects of drawing. I can guide you through the basics if you want

Okay that's good advice, I'm going to Cardiff in the week so I can pick a few things up then.
And trust me I'll start simple. Not gonna rush into this.

If you want to get started, try something simple to begin with first. Think of small items with a fairly easy shape. Also, drawings will cost some time to make them look great. If you want to learn how to draw properly patience is a must.

Patience is the big thing for me.  I have this idea in my head of what it should look like but I want it to look that way RIGHT NOW!  So then it ends up looking really bad  :$ .  I have never considered myself an artist but have always wanted to be able to draw well.  I have a book that I got at Barnes and Noble that I am going to go through that will hopefully help me see things from the artistic perspective so that my drawings will get better.

I'm probably in a pretty similar position. The idea of drawing things appeals to me for many reasons, and I even feel it's incredibly important to me, since I really want to draw all my RP characters and stuff. Yet, I absolutely HATE drawing. There are a hundred things I'd rather do than draw. I gotta make myself do it, and I very rarely actually get around to it, although you might say I'm pretty good for how little practice I do.

Which is why I'm about to suggest... that practice isn't simply the one thing what'll make perfect; it's a steady hand and strong focus that'll do that. That Domiparadan soldier of mine that I put on Fur Affinity? Not the product of fumbling a thousand times trying to make it in the years prior.

I also say that free online tutorials and such are good, they'll do you no harm, but I do NOT recommend buying classes or getting pricey books about art. They're unnecessary, and if you wanna get into a business of drawing stuff for people, that stuff will just further push you to make your prices very high, 'cause you'll have to make back that ton of money on that fancy artistry college class you took for two years or whatever.

all you rely need to get stared is just a pencil and some paper X 3
but some advice is just to keep practicing no matter how bad something is just keep having a go!
also don't force ideas because if you do they will properly not turn out that good
hope you get better and good luck : 3
