Hello world!
« on: December 21, 2013, 07:42:42 AM »
Hello everyone.
You may call me Kibari (pronounced kih-ba-ree).

I am new yet old when it comes to the furry world as while I've had an interest I've never really much at all participated in the community.
I discovered the term "furry" in terms of the furry fandom when I was around about perhaps 15-16 and can say as a teenaged cub what first got me hooked on "furry art" in particular was my interest in artists such as atomicfishbowl, tamberella and several similar artists (I could also of course blame Disney/etc and not to mention those cubhood animal-related fairy tales and fables - as well as my overall closeness to animals). Though, for a while I moved away from furrydom after zero participation and the related to explore other things.

My interest in the artistic communication involving human-animal aspects never ceased since I identify with non-human species. I guess you could also say I'm an "animal-person" and I see humanity as an extension tp myself of whom is non-human at heart. Even though bipedal anthropomorphisation also interests me art-wise, my primary fursona (which is a fox / fox spirit) is based upon my internal identity and is what some describe as "feral". Yet, in spirit form my fursona is capable of being semi-anthro in terms of morph. I wouldn't roleplay being anymore than 25% (conversationally) anthropomorphic as I do not feel too comfortable with appearing too human, I get a sense of species dysmorphia.

It was due to the "seemingly declining" otherkin community that I decided to venture into the furry world socially as I am now. As with so many therian and kin folk mentioning how awesome furrydom apparently is and I was also introduced to the evolution of furrydom's focus as shown in the Yarf! review series (which is comparable to the elective UMA) and similar which seemed to promote things I found some interest in.

On a lighter note, most of all that I seek here is community and friendship above all.
I've been a little bit too introverted for my own comfort due to my phobia of strangers (especially humans - though, this is my fox-like nature speaking) so I believe here would be a great start to break the waters of loneliness acquaintance-wise.

Offline, I live in England so I be an English fox!
I am interested in programming to some degree and also love listening to music.
I've heard there's furries near me but I have no found method of communication to those furs.

As someone who has recently started to learn to draw again (I have very little experience in general, my previous beginning to start learning from scratch was cut short by the lack of commitment), I also see the furry community as a potential gateway to socialise any furry-related art I decide to create in the future. Upon registering I had no character art let alone any visual customisation or splendorous stylisation to my fursona so one of my favourite species of fox will be my avatar until I have something more fursonal to replace my avatar with.

I'd like to also add that I am currently in a relationship (albeit long distance) so I am not the type "seeking" mate-wise and I am certainly not the overly "adult" exhbitionist type despite my mental/spiritual eccentricity in terms of species and gender hence my choice to use a PG site despite bordering on 20 (*cough* or should I say over 9000 years since I'm quite the kitsune) at the current time of typing.

Anyhow, please excuse me if I come over a bit serious in this introduction of mine (I must note I was diagnosed with mild autism with a love for typing at much lengths on progressive and reflective philosophical subjects and hypothesis in respect for my undying curiousity about the wonders surrounding life, the universe and everything - the answer to which of course being seemingly "42" which is coincidentally the exact same amount of teeth the average red fox has - since after all, taking after "kitsunes" means that foxes are secretly hyper-intelligent pan-dimensional beings that will eventually rule the world due to our incredible flexibility in genetics and cross-life invasion (being the reincarnation of a fox myself) of the human race and its cultures [no joke xD]), [ok] I'm not really the overly the serious type and I am imaginatively adventurous and enjoy compassion and affection yet I as an actual "human-animal" in a sense just being here makes me really reflect on myself for a change so please do excuse the essay. I guess you could say I'm like an old soul with a young heart :3

On one last note I must indicate that I share my head with another near-identical being I am in active contact with so I guess you could say the above is from the both of us.

Feel free to ask any questions you wish about me in this thread or via PM, especially if you want to be buddies.
Thank you.

Wow, most of the things you just said are really familiar to the thing I intended! (I don't say much, I'm just a bit shy cause I'm new on this forum).

Also I stopped drawing about two years ago, but this community got me started again!

Since we are both new on this forum,  could we be buddy's? (if you're okay with that of course.)

Sure we can be buddies, Zehn *shakes paw*. I wouldn't be too shy on the internet, in my experience, people on sites like these are usually doing their own thing and don't think too much into others' ways and history, etc. If someone would go out of there way to make a fuss of you (which it seems most shy folk think will happen) then it says a lot about them, for example, I'm sure due to moderation that basement-dwelling occupational trolls are scarce. I am, myself, quite shy offline, mostly due to the fact I seldom speak to strangers offline.

Oh and that's good you decide to take up drawing again, if it makes you happy don't give it up again :3

Alright then! This is kinda funny, cause offline I'm not that shy at all.  I think I just have to get used to this community :P.
By the way, are you a skilled drawer?

Not at all in terms of experience, I'd say I have around a months worth of mileage if you consider 4 hours the daily amount of attempt.
I'm sure with a few years practice I'll be fine, art theory teaches me how I already see the world and imagination. The very essence of life is creativity. I have plenty of time.

Yourself?

Lets say my skill is 5 on a scale from 1 to 10.  But I do notice that I keep getting better at it the more I practice.

Drawing once was one of the things I was good at, and it was something I did almost always, until My school exams came along, and I had to study a lot.
Glad I started drawing again though!

Interesting. I had no such interest in drawing in my younger years.
Well that's good, nonetheless!

I think if you want to continue talking about this please PM me instead to avoid unnecessary bumping of this thread as per netiquette, Zenh, as I am going offline now. It was nice meeting you today, talk some other time, ok? Thank you :3
