Soooo... I say I'm new here, when really I'm new to the furry fandom. I'm looking for advice/friends to help me figure this out, as family isn't supportive

My fursona is a male werewolf. His name is Dean Jeffurson. He is russet colored with red eyes. He has a slash scar over his left eye and three slash scars on the left side of his muzzle.

I am a female human. I haven't been part of the furry fandom for long at all. Just since last night! My favorite music is pop punk/emo (or MCR!) My favorite movie is Hannibal Rising (I LOVE horror movies), and I love to read. My favorite colors are black, orange, and red.

I'm just kicking around here looking for some friends to guide me through this newfound fandom!

Well, mostly on how to tell friends that I have a fursona. I know a lot of them will think it's super weird (especially since the internet somehwhat ruins the image of furries) and I don't know how to break it to them.

That's a bit tricky, and really it depends on your circumstances. A few people know about me being a furry, but I do keep it a secret from others. It's on a case by case basis. I don't think there's any one tried and true formula. I'd say be alert, but don't rush it.

Thanks!!  The only person I've told is my best friend, because I tell her everything and I know she won't judge me!
