New Avian Here
« on: November 10, 2009, 09:52:41 AM »
Hi I'm LaXifra but you can call me Xif or Figure(La Xifra is Catalan for The Figure, I don't speak Catalan but it sounded cooler). I'm a bit new to furry fandom, having mostly been "closeted" due to certain depictions of furries(you know the ones...the bad ones) scaring me off. I frequented Furcadia for a while but got bored of the lack of creativity/differences plus I felt a bit excluded as my fursona is a bird and not a cat, dog, squirrel or the other more common fursonas. I don't really draw(no talent there) and I very rarely write outside of role-play stuff but I hope to meet lots of nice furries and maybe a few other avians.  Feel free to add my twitter(brandy new so I don't have much there) or MSN name, just drop me a private message here if you do. :3
And it was then that Nyarlathotep came out of Egypt. Who he was, none could tell, but he was of the old native blood and looked like a Pharaoh.

Well... I like to believe that bunnies aren't that common (also... I barely see any, but hey...)

Anyways, welcome to the forums *offers some pie as a welcome*

Umm... I've asked cats and dragons and stuff... but do birds like pie?

bunnies are far more common than birds. There really arent that many around. But there might be some round here. Either way it's a pleasant place full of.... people
"Parents always think kids are wasting their youth, and always have done [so] down through the millennia," says Tom Forsyth of RAD Game Tools. "'That Ug, always holding things. His front paws will develop in funny ways. Why can't he walk on all fours like normal proto-hominids?' And so, whatever the kids spend the most time doing, that's always what parents think is a waste of time, and what is corrupting their lives. It doesn't matter what that is. If all they did was homework, parents would be worrying that their kids aren't becoming well-rounded people. And, in fact, parents do this - enrolling math nerds in karate classes and the like. There is no way to win - parental paranoia ensures that kids are always doing the wrong thing."

Welcome to the forum ^^
With 955 characters for a signature, I can try make something funny or interesting but no, I'm just gonna sit here and type instead of going to work because breaking the fourth wall is more humour than trying to figure out how I'll get access to my other laptop; picking up my charger that I left at a friends house, around 40 miles away...

Good going Sparky, you did well. On the plus side, it's given you a chance to accidentally revisit some old stomping grounds and see what madness you can create during this seemingly temporarily return.

Thanks guys! It's nice to see so many people saying hello to someone new. Oh and please all you bird eaters...cockatoos are friends not food.

Heehee. Thanks Kitt  :3

I've seen a few gryphons and phoenixes and the like in my travels across the internet but those are more mythological than just avians I suppose. Its kind of weird being the odd one out but I don't mind :D

to be fair, feathers are pretty awesome.
