Wild West RP OOC (DEAD)

Some people might be surprised to see this, expecting as they were, a sequel to Everflame, but frankly Everflame was very taxing and I was spinning a lot of plates, hoping that they would all come together in a neat little bow.

This RP is a lot looser, a lot more freeform. Mostly because I have other commitments right now and don't want to be stressing as much. But then, why do it at all? Because I like RPs and frankly I'm finding a distinct dip in things to do on this site since Everflame ended and End of Life was put on temporary hiatus.

So, why the wild west? Well first because everyone knows what to expect, so I don't have to spend so much time creating a world and rules and things like that. It's also popular, it's current, what with things like Red Dead Redemption, as well as a bunch of films and TV shows coming out. In fact this idea was inspired by me watching through all the spaghetti westerns my mum owns. (When she was young, she used to love the American westerns until she realised what their racial politics were.)

SO anyway, as for the RP itself, I want to know who's interested, and any ideas on what could be done would be brilliant. This is much less of a single minded vision sort of thing, and more a web of tales.

I'll probably put up character profile stuff tomorrow. Right now, I'm about to go to bed.

Name: 'Sooty' Kitt
Age: 17
Appearance: rather short with thick fur almost always covered in coal and soot, dark blue workers clothes also covered in soot along with a drivers cap and red neckerchief...
Occupation: Railway worker (mainly coal shifting and engine repair, is currently being trained by an older train driver)
Species: Feline (wildcat)
Culture: Used to be from Europe (So Eastern European), came over to America in a steam-liner... found work on railways and stayed put...
Weapons: Carries an old hunting knife at all times, also has an old revolver (not working) which he is currently trying to repair as a hobby...

Biography: Kitt came over as a migrant worker, finding work on the railways he started off as a coal shifter, and so earned the nickname "Sooty Kitt"... An old Engine driver taught him the basics of engine maintenance and repair, and since then he has taken an avid interest in the workings of steam locomotives....




Name: Old Bill  (More like a very secondary character, just included him here for completeness)
Age: ?
Appearance: One of the oldest railway workers still working on the tracks, bill has dark fur going silver, and wears regular workmans clothes....
Occupation: Railways (Actual locomotive driver)
Species: Timber Wolf
Culture: european american
Weapons: A hunting rifle that he carries in his engine's cab...

Biography: No one know how long he's been an engine driver, no one knows how old he is, no one knows his surname... so everyone just calls him old bill, and tips their hats to him... Though old, Bill still has a spark of life in him, and after taking a liking to a young feline he's taken Kitt in as close to a son as he could be....

Ok, good, but i'm going to need to give a few rules for you, shinzuu. You were... problematic in Everflame.

No omnipotence of knowledge. You can't know that someone's dead before you even met them.

No superstrength/speed whatever. You're the best shot in town, but you can't lift a horse above your head.

If you're going to throw in a story element, think about it, and only put it in if you think it's good. If you're unsure of whether I'll accept it or not, run it past me.

Flaws are good for the soul, and for the story. Your guy isn't perfect. That's why superman is generally a bit boring. It's also why Batman should be in arkham asylum just as much as the criminals. They started off as perfect people and it got dull. The more amazing a person is, the more extreme his flaws need to be, or atleast the more frequent they need to be. Balance is the key.

On that note, character depth is also a problem, as well as character development. There was very little... almost no character development for korius, especially when compared to Kitt or Howl. If anything, there needs to be ups and downs, as well as the idea that Korius might fail. And by the end, we should have even a glimpse of an insight into his soul.

This sounds quite fun, I’m definitely in. Hope you don’t mind me having two characters, I didn’t see a limit and was torn between these two. If I have to choose, I’ll try.

Name: Rio "Gunpowder" Evers
Age: 22
Appearance: Slender build. Light Tan fur. Dark blue pants, loose at the bottom. Brown vest with a tan T-shirt underneath. Long hair tied into a ponytail under a black cowboy hat.
Occupation: Blast miner
Species: Desert Fox
Culture: American
Weapons: Various explosives, bowie knife and two six-shooters.

Biography: Rio was always fascinated by explosives, so she took up blast mining. The only reason she was let onto the work force because they were short handed. The other men of the work force shunned her for being a woman. They felt she should be serving them sandwiches and beer, not working along side them. They were also jealous because she could out work them all. Through the years of verbal abuse and unkind treatment she grew very cold to most people. Even some of the other women, they also berated her for doing a man’s job.

Occupation: Coffin maker assistant
Species: Jack Rabbit
Culture: Irish-American
Weapons: Winchester rifle and a bowie knife

Biography: Reno, like any boy was always helping his father in the workplace. In this case he helped make coffins with his father. The two lived in a generally peaceful town, the town had many people. But even though it had many people it was uneventful. One day when Reno came home from the General store to get an order for his father he saw the Sheriff in the front room with his revolver at his father’s head. Before Reno could even blink his father was killed before his eyes by the Sheriff. Reno didn’t know it but the Sheriff had been trying to extort his family for some time and his father didn’t give in. Reno ran to the fireplace and took his father’s Winchester off the mantle and shot the Sheriff dead in a blind rage. The Sheriff’s men caught wind that the sheriff was dead and tried to catch Reno, but he ran away. They slapped a $1,000 bounty on his head, dead or alive. He was branded very dangerous from that day forth.

That's some great stuff Seargent, and you can have as many characters as you want... though one thing

They slapped a $50,000 bounty on his head, dead or alive.

That's an insane bounty for some kid who killed one guy, even if he is the sheriff. This should be $500-$1000 at the absolute most.

I'll post up a character or two in like 45 minutes, and probably start this whole thing rolling just before i head to bed (at like 5am... why do writers... writers that I know at least, work best in the early hours?)

Appearance: Looks scrawny with his raggedy and patched up "lab-coat" and loose denim jeans, but wields his shotgun like he was born with it. There are also scars where his "experiment"s didn't go as planned, but they seem decades old and have never faded.
Occupation: explosives "scientist"
Species: "Bronze" Dragon
Culture: Felosian
Weapons: A ten inch knife with blood stains and a browning shotgun strapped to his back.

Biography: 'Bud' has no family, and nobody knows much about him since they don't even attempt to be friends with him. All thats known is that his "inventions" always involve some explosive force, and are unusually reliable. He would be a renowned physicist if it wasn't for his almost sudden outbursts of anger that usually involve in either fist-fights, or someone on the ground bleeding from knife wounds.

Age: 55
Appearance: Blue shirt, stetson hat, dust covered boots, thick cotton dark grey waistcoat, blue denim jeans.
Occupation: Sheriff
Species: Cougar
Culture: Euro-American
Weapons: Six shooter revolver, springfield rifle, sawn-off double barrelled shotgun

Biography: Grew up in the small mining town of Will's Town, Arizona. There never was much coal there, so the town stayed small. Biff was the son of a deputy, brought up in the lawman sense of life and duty. Often there would be nothing more than petty thieves and unruly children. He took his father's place as deputy, once his father died in a hunting accident, and when the sheriff got too old, he trusted Biff with the auspicious title. For twenty years, he's been in charge of Will's Town, without much incident. He's led a rather good life. Recently however, a railroad was built, running through the town, due to their natural well. The town has changed dramatically. It's becoming bigger, more popular, full of trade and drink. Biff hates it. Bringing nothing but criminals of all levels. The bandits stealing horses, money, men and women, and the rich drunks throwing their weight around.
