First up is Blackadder. This is from the last season in 1989. Unfortunately the BBC have removed most of the clips from youtube, but I still found some. It was set in the trenches during WW1.

How good is Blackadder?  Baldrick, Queenie, Melchett.
 
I taught myself the theme on piano and cried at the end of Blackadder Goes Forth.
 
One episode even had Tom Baker!
 
But as for other shows:
