Parents and explanation

So i know what i am, I'm a furry, but then my mum asked me why i act this way... i told her i was a furry. She asked me to explain what a furry is and i had no idea how to explain it. Could any one put a little light on the subject for me?

They are people who like Anthropomorphics (half animal, half human) characters.
Dont even try to go into detail about Fursuits or anything like that. Start with the first fact. Then add in a non threatening way.

ive only told my parents about the anthro characters part... (though that is kinda cos i got nothing to do with the other stuff like fursuits >.< im not really much of a furry irl...)

so yeah, just tell 'em that part.... anthro characters (characters with animal traits) its a form of art, and being a furry is someone who likes to draw, or just likes this kinda art.... easy! 

good luck, if youre parents are understanding... i cant see why they would be worried simply about a kinda art... arts a good thing right?

i think i could get away with that and i wouldn't dare bring up fursuits she would be all like NO!! then hit me with a bible then make me join a bible group.

well thats how i got away with it     cos yeah ive always loved art... so she was just like, oh okay, cool...

same, im not prepared to tell my parents about that side of furry... even though i dont want to take part in it... i still dont wanna tell them... might give them the wrong ideas...

dont say that... im sure youre parents will always love you for who you are... thats what parents do (unless its somthing really bad, like drugs... but thats different xD )

well being furry means being a fan of anthromorphic characters
and if your parents like cartoons that have those types of characters

BAMO they are a furry subconsciously

rememba, appeal to intrests, test the water (by asking something different, ie. their stance on something, if they answer biasedly, ask them if they actually believe that, if yes then just dont tell them, if not theres a risk involved but im not sure)
