First of all let me just say that I love my job. however, there are some days that are, shall we say, "unlikeable". Today was one of those days and im gonna vent a bit here and tell yall about it. I knew it was going to be a bad day when I woke up and found out I was out of milk. No breakfast for me today. I get to work, (btw I work at a target deli) and for about 2 hours, its non-stop slicing meat and cheese, wrapping it up, putting it away, taking it out, blah blah blah. Before I go on my break, I decide to make one of my special sandwiches cause I feel like i could use one. London broil roast beef and prosciutto, with smoked gouda thinly sliced so it will melt, all on a piece of focaccia bread. normally, its really good, but not today. Today, for some reason, my sandwich didnt heat up fully like it normally does so when I took a bite out of it expecting a nice gooey cheesy sandwich, I instead tasted a cold cheesy sandwich. Now cold sandwiches are fine, but not with 6 slices of smoked gouda and focaccia bread. So im in a bad mood now but I put it aside for the guests and keep chugging along. A little while later, a guest comes up and wants 1lb of italian dry salami sliced paper thin. Italian dry salami is the size of a golf ball and needs a special guard to prevent it from slipping when I slice it AND I have to press down on the guard so it can even slice it anyway which is a huge hazard. Rest of the night goes well and I decide to get my favorite drink to reward myself for getting through such a rough day, IBC Root Beer. We were out. I had to get black cherry instead, which isnt bad, but I really wanted root beer. Now that thats been said, I feel better. I'm really glad we have a rant section of these forums.
