Teeth Grinding
« on: May 12, 2015, 03:49:50 AM »
About 8 hours ago I started grinding my teeth a lot, and just pressing my teeth together. And I still am. I tried chewing on ice but my jaws just ended up destroying it. I sadly don't have any carrots to eat. It is driving me crazy!

Does anyone have any suggestions, or any idea why I'm doing this?

Teeth grinding can often be linked to an increase in stress. Maybe try relaxing a bit? Read a book, play some music, or do whatever it is which might help relieve you a bit. That could possibly help. I wouldn't grind your teeth on anything too hard like metal or hard candies, as that could cause lasting damage to your enamel and gums.

When i'm stressed more than usual i tend to bite my gums in my sleep and draw blood, pretty mych every time i fall asleep. Aside from that, i like to tap my teeth (consciously) lol. My dentists know it too.
I guess thats not advice at all but oh well XD

I have braces and if my teeth grinding gets to bad (along with poor bracket placement) I'll sometimes knock off a bracket. Then I lose them.

And that is why it is best to find a preventative solution to make sure there won't be long-term damage.
