Scared half to death
« on: July 10, 2009, 03:41:16 PM »
Okay, the reason why I was scared half to death was beacause when I was going to bed I turned on my laptop and it went through the normal processess during startup and when I got to my background page and it was green, nothing was there. I started to freak out and I got my friend on the phone, he's really good with computers and he told me a troubleshooting steps and when it was done everything was back to normal.

Has that ever happened to anyone else?

That normally is just a delay in getting the background's image information. Nothing really to freak-out about, refreshing or going into the settings to put the image up as the background normally will set it into place again.

Yeah, I've had it happen, but my screen was white. It wasn't really anything big, and it's never effected my computer badly before. As Vosur said:

yeah, the first thing that went through my mind when I saw the green screen was my dad and how mad he was going to be. This is my first laptop, I've only had it since december.

once, my computer didn't start up one day. not even the light that indicated a low battery or anything, it wouldn't charge either, my bro knows a friend who "fixed it" (using some glue and a screwdriver after he poped the keyboard off) but thenn the kayboard, trap pad and mouse bottons didn't work, i still use a hand mouse to this day because it still hasn't been fixed.

I almost don't freak out with my computer anymore. I had a laptop (a really crummy one, the battery didn't even work. Heck, the Hard-Drive was only 18GB xP).
Anyway, I had to format that one at least 4 times in 2 years, then the graphic board went bust. I tried to turn it on once and the only thing I saw was these vertical stripes all over the screen.
Now I have a 2nd hand laptop (I don't mind, it works lol) which was formated once in less than an year. When it gets slow, I patiently wait for it to work (ok, maybe not THAT patiently... <.<)
The only time I freaked out was when I got 2 Blue Screens of Death in a row.
I are a Mewgia 8D Deal with the cute >83
