May I please have some help? :3
« on: July 13, 2009, 06:18:59 AM »
Okay...
Well this is now starting to get on my nerves...
But on Deviantart, I think its called Digital Art (With what you draw and make it look realistic like all colourd in and etc)
And I was woundering, how could I do so, for free. (Like any Downloading stuff or whatever)
I have GIMP but I dont think that will work (As told)
And I dont know how to use Photoshop anymore :S
Thanks :D
I can't get you off my mind
But it's okay,
Because I don't want you out of it. <3 :)

Use Paint shop? I have Paint Shop Pro 9 and it does everything I need O.o

I think that would be illegal, no thanks.

I havn't tried it yet, but they say that it won't work as well.
But I will try it when I draw something.
And yeah, I probably need to buy it or something....

If you're looking for something free, GIMP is about as good as it gets.

Unless you resort to illegal means , your options are somewhat limited.

You might want to check out Inkscape though, it's an Open-Source, free alternate to Adobe Illustrator, I've heard good things about it:
http://www.inkscape.org/

Nothing illegal here

Well, if I can't suggest illegal action, I suggest just buying a program that's cheap and best suiting to your needs. I use Illustrator combined with Photoshop since I don't know how to use Photoshop on it's own from my school. You could just try drawing, coloring by hand, then touching up with a program (it won't look too bad). I've never used Deviantart so I'm sorry if my advice is close to useless but totally legal :S

I've found that free arts programs aren't very good, or very limited in what they can do.

I suggest you buy a tablet if you're planning on drawing from scratch on the computer, because using the mouse is really annoying and difficult.

If you buy a 'Bamboo' tablet, then you tend to get a program called ART RAGE with it, that's pretty good, and I used it for my comic.

If you want more professional looking artwork (especially if you want to do comics or just have generally good effects for artwork) then i'd suggest Manga Studio Debut 4.0. I just got it and I swear by it.

These things are kinda expensive-ish, but they'll last for a long time and are well worth the money. Othere than that I can't suggest anything!  :o

Just wanted to add something to that bit that Xleena said -

I'd recommend the "Bamboo Fun" over the regular "Bamboo" if you're more serious about art and know you're going to be doing a lot of it. (Not saying anyone with the regular "Bamboo" isn't serious about art, mind you.) The "Bamboo Fun" is a bit more expensive, but I think the extra features that come with it make it a whole lot more helpful while drawing.
