Fabric with extra long fur?
« on: June 13, 2013, 08:51:15 PM »
Does anyone here know where to buy fabric with extra long fur? like 10-15 cm long fur ( about 6 inch ) I need it for a tail that have really long fur and I would like to make one without stuffing it with a bunch of cotton, it just makes it look...well, fat, and not to much of a tail in my opinion.

This might be a better option. I've never tried this myself, but I'd say the final product is definitely worth the time it will take to put it together.

What shinobi fox is proposing is definitely a much better alternative to getting that long-fur fabric, which costs (at least the cheapest I've ever seen at that thickness) about $70 per yard.

Holy crepes!  :o  Yeah, you can get yarn for MUCH cheaper than that! And it allows for much more customization, from the looks of things. I dunno if this would be considered backseat modding, but maybe we can move this to the cosplay thread? Might be more appropriate there. :)
