Squeakers?
« on: March 10, 2016, 09:42:40 AM »
Hey everyone!

So I was just curious about how squeakers worked? Like wouldn't you get saliva in them if you used it throughout the day (during a con)? Also how do you move the squeaker if you want to drink? Do you stick your hands in your head and pull it out to drink or do you have a string keeping it in front of your mouth when it's not actually in your mouth? So many questions  XD
Thanks!

(I just feel like I'm stalking your posts now :P )
There's a few different ways people make squeakers work (physically, though not doing it constantly also makes it more adorable :)  )
If you just have a dog squeaker in your mouth, I'd just shove that inside your cheek when you want to get a drink. Some suiters who use dog squeakers actually put the squeaker inside their paw, not necessarily -inside-  but between the paw and your hand. They then just move their head and act like the sound is coming from their mouth :)
Another thing as an alternative to dog squeakers are bird whistles. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rC-3un6cmUw
For those though, I'd imagine you just use  a straw to drink water and put if far back enough and hope for the best :P I use a bird whistle from them and do a 'chatter' for my bat fursuit. They're hard to get used to, but as long as you let the paper dry after each use, you can reuse them. And they stay in easier after they get stuck to your tongue :)

Umm

.what's a squeaker?

A type of fursuit, from what I see...mainly cartoony. It's a type of fursuit that squeak. Some having a hidden speakers (from a dog toy) in their paws, in the head, Or like telephone one of the bird whistles shown above.

It's not a specific fursuit, it's a small piece of plastic or a modified bird whilst the people put in their mouths to make squeaking noises, sometimes they have them in their hands and they physically squeeze them to make that noise.
