Furry or Therian

I try to find the real difference between the two, but it's had to define.   

Therian is suppose to be an animal spirit trapped in a human body, but a furry is a human that wants to dress as or be an animal.

How can you tell the difference?

I know I am a Jaguar, but is it because I just feel a strong connection, or should I go be the fact that in most of my dreams I run on all four paws?

I'm supposing that furryness is only a hobby, like otakus wanting to dress up as their favorite charater.
Therins have a spiritual connection to their animal. Furryness in of itself dosn't mandate you have any spiritual beleifs about your animal.

Therianthropy is just a spiritual belief tied to animals, being furry is just a hobby, furries just like anthros.
Some furries want to be there fursona and some therians act furrier to feel more connected to the animals, so they do have crossing paths but in general definition they are unrelated.

I am therian.  I suspect that is why wolves don't attack me...and other dog races...and usually dogs in general.  I am also furry.  It also explains why it feels like I have ears on my head. sometimes, I can hear things too..or was that a dream... I can't tell

I am both as well. Since the difenition of therian is someone who IS the animal inside and feels no need to pretend to be one. That is is just there. The wolf side of me. And a furry is someone who wants to be an animal and enjoys pretending to be one. That would be my feline side. So ehem... I am both wolf and cat inside.

iam both i guess i like anthro and i bealive that as animals ( yes i just said hummans are animals) that all animals have or can take any from they want not there phyiscal body but there sperit body and once you die you can chose a different form if you want... thats why i fell like i have a strong connection with other animals and iam good with them because i might be an older spirit that for some resion has chosen a human body for this life but it might not be the same for the next

when i was smaller i allway wanted to have a wolf pack and all was and still do love meat esp chicken and fish. although i allways liked beening a lone or with a few friends ( the lone wolf) i all-ways liked night and the moon  and every know and then i howl at it ( when no one is around)

well how about family friends and pets? the way i see it is that we will all be together but we will also have our own Paradise like for example ppl that you have meet on the internet but cant in RL becuase of where they live  you will also be able to meet them there
