Tales of Anthria!
« on: March 08, 2010, 05:19:00 PM »
Hey, prospective readers!
I've been creating a fictional world inside my head for many weeks now. I've been jotting down notes about it, sketching maps and compiling a fictional culture and history comprised of Gods, folk heroes, myths and quite a lot of idiocy. I wrote a short story on it and quite liked how it turned out. This made me plot out the key points to a much longer and fuller story. I loved how it sounded so much i've started to write it out in chapters. I'd love to hear what y'all think!

It's a fictional world, VERY loosely based around D&D, but don't let that put you off! It was really just used for character influence. Set in and around the continent of Anthria, it's a world of magic, murder, animals and alliterations. There'll be thrills, there'll be romance! There might even turn out to be a joke, but don't hold your breath.  ;)

I'm obliged to warn of moderate language and quite a lot of violence, but not really graphic.

Ahem. Links, anyone?
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/3521836 The first chapter.
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/3530214/ Chapter two. Spot the Terry Pratchett reference and win an internet! (It's pretty obvious)

I'm also releasing character biographies betweentimes. Only one has been completed so far, but expect another one soon. (Read the stories before the biographies, it helps  :3)

http://www.furaffinity.net/view/3525808/ Biography 1 - Janus

Thanks, and don't be afraid to tell me which bits are rubbish. ^_^

Add me! Always nice to meet new furs :3

I passed this by back when I was focusing on my work. I'll read it tomorrow.
"Parents always think kids are wasting their youth, and always have done [so] down through the millennia," says Tom Forsyth of RAD Game Tools. "'That Ug, always holding things. His front paws will develop in funny ways. Why can't he walk on all fours like normal proto-hominids?' And so, whatever the kids spend the most time doing, that's always what parents think is a waste of time, and what is corrupting their lives. It doesn't matter what that is. If all they did was homework, parents would be worrying that their kids aren't becoming well-rounded people. And, in fact, parents do this - enrolling math nerds in karate classes and the like. There is no way to win - parental paranoia ensures that kids are always doing the wrong thing."
