Crashed mah bike D:
« on: May 12, 2010, 09:30:24 AM »
Well yeah, name of the topic says it all.... cycling down a real steep hill some idiot almost hit me with a truck, i swerved to get out the way... hit the pavement, skidded and smashed into the road... went down to the casualty centre and am now im some serious pain with loadsa bandages over most of my right hand, arm and chest as well as my leg....

 i tell you, concrete shreds through clothes and flesh too easily  :S

On the good side of things, my bike wasnt badly damaged, and i get the day off school  :P

And all i gotta say is i'm glad i was just on my regular bike, rather than my mates dirtbike... if i'd been goin' any faster i reckon i woulda broken quite a few bones...

geez man, hope you're good. Good thing it seems like you'll be alright. It's more a story to tell than a burden to carry.
"Parents always think kids are wasting their youth, and always have done [so] down through the millennia," says Tom Forsyth of RAD Game Tools. "'That Ug, always holding things. His front paws will develop in funny ways. Why can't he walk on all fours like normal proto-hominids?' And so, whatever the kids spend the most time doing, that's always what parents think is a waste of time, and what is corrupting their lives. It doesn't matter what that is. If all they did was homework, parents would be worrying that their kids aren't becoming well-rounded people. And, in fact, parents do this - enrolling math nerds in karate classes and the like. There is no way to win - parental paranoia ensures that kids are always doing the wrong thing."

<Shudder>

I've never really been badly injured o.o

I got a greenstick fracture in my elbow when a troll knocked me over on his bike. I'm so NOT telling him I'm a furry.....

And I got hit by a car the other day. And limped off after picking up and dusting myself off.
I'm guessing the mystery girl is some kind of root vegetable.

Ouch! I've never gotten that badly hurt before, but I have gotten beat up while riding a bike on a hill. >_O

One of the many jobs my dad does is rent duplexes. A family who rented a side of one had a young girl who I'd play with while my dad worked on the house. One day we decided to ride bikes down the big steep street it faced. I didn't have my bike, so I used her little sister's, which was way too small. We cruised down the hill, and I realized I was going too fast! I couldn't bend my legs enough to hit the pedals, so attempted to stop it by putting my feet on the ground. Big mistake! The bike flipped forward and I catapulted off, slammed onto the pavement, and skid down the street. The bike hit me on the way down, too. X_x

My limbs were a mess, especially my right leg, but it wasn't bad enough to go to the hospital. It was hard to enjoy the summer while having a wounded leg covered in giant Band-Aids.

I hope you're feeling a bit better after all of that! Yours had to do with a truck encounter, but mine was from stupidity. XD

I remember when I did something similar. I was cycling down a hill on my way to school, first Friday of the school year. I was happily on my way with my bro behind me. The light at the crosswalk is green so I don't slow down. I just leave the curb and BAM! Nailed by a driver who wanted to beat the light. I flew into the intersection, lost my glasses, a shoe and almost cause a pile up. I was dazed, worried only about my shoe because I thought my mom would kill me, my bro was like "ZOMG" and the driver got out of his car, picked me up, cussed me out and drove off. I got my glasses, shoe and bike (Which was mangled). The bike was so mangled I couldn't ride it so I pushed it on it's back wheel all the way to school which was a few blocks away. I get there, I'm late, people are staring at me while I actually lock up my bike in the bike rack and head to the cafeteria. I see my dean, Ms. Ellis, and I ask "Today's picture day, right?" She replied; "Yes, you look terrible." I then said; "Yeah, I just got hit by a car." and smiled. She freaked out, ambluance came, got to ride in a wheelchair that I couldn't keep and got the day off from school.
