Opinions?

Sup guys ^__^
Everything that needs to be said has been copied from my DA account:

"Work in progress.

The sketch is still quite crude and i will be redoing the eyes. (this was done in about 30 seconds a few weeks ago) Stylistically, this is a departure from my usual habits of trying to make everything uber realistic... I quite like this more laid-back approach in terms of style.

I'm kind of stuck at the moment in deciding how to define the arms for this guy without screwing up the pattern. This is my first time experimenting with anything digital, and with anything involving complex patterns... Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Also, Gimp friggin' sucks. Using this program makes me want to gouge my eyes out with my bare hands and whip them at the apes who coded this junk."

EDIT: Looking at this again, his shoulders are lopsided... bah :/

Hmmm...
Did you save over the original of the picture, or did you save this as a copy?

If you still have the original, I'd try drawing the arms in Gimp and worry about the pattern later.
If you don't then if you still have the paper version of the art, I'd draw it there, and rescan it.

Yeah, this is just a copy of the scan that I edited in Gimp. I'll try what you are suggesting tomorrow with regular lines and perhaps with vectors, although I'm not clear on how to properly create paths.

Thanks for your time :3

Another old image. Originally for a school project. Too tired to type anything worthwhile... >_<

If anyone cares, my Deviantart account name is Technicolorgoat.

Cheers

Actually I like this one, it reminds me of the Pixl's from Super Paper Mario :D. I love the "line-like" look of this drawing

hahaha, aww i love that one. I love the lines.
"Parents always think kids are wasting their youth, and always have done [so] down through the millennia," says Tom Forsyth of RAD Game Tools. "'That Ug, always holding things. His front paws will develop in funny ways. Why can't he walk on all fours like normal proto-hominids?' And so, whatever the kids spend the most time doing, that's always what parents think is a waste of time, and what is corrupting their lives. It doesn't matter what that is. If all they did was homework, parents would be worrying that their kids aren't becoming well-rounded people. And, in fact, parents do this - enrolling math nerds in karate classes and the like. There is no way to win - parental paranoia ensures that kids are always doing the wrong thing."
