So the hate is quite alright, but complaining about it isn't!?

I've been on Deviant Art for about a year. I like to look at AmandaDaHamsters artwork a stuff like that. I even have a favorite folder for all my favorite Mijumaru pictures. ...But that's another topic.

Anyway, like most sites, Deviant Art is LOADED with Furry Hate and all that. I notice a lot of the furry haters don't hate ALL furries, but what puzzles me the most is how others think it's wrong for furries to complain about the hate. For all the (expletive) furries are put through, not just on the internet but in real life, I personally think furries have a right to complain about it.

Granted, I barely count as a furry, but unlike most people, I don't have a prejudice hatred against furries. Infact, my main role as a furry is to shed a good light on the community, so that there's less hatred torwards furries. ...I know that's a pipe dream, but still.

The fact that furry hatred is smiled upon, but complaining about the hate is shunned, it kind of makes me sad. I mostly think it's just another excuse for people to hate furries.

I've heard people say that furrys that constantly advocate their feelings on the subject without provocation are irritating, which in my opinion is understandable.  But who would take verbal abuse lying down?  I haven't heard anyone say that defending ourselves is wrong.

My problem is that most people EXAGGERATE hatred torwards furries. This whole fursecution business, and stuff like "You're a furry, so your opinion doesn't count," and stuff like that. People act like we're demon seeds. There are worse things on this planet than furries, but most people don't want to think so.

Hmm... My opinion is pretty much the same as Fenrir's; that if someone's messing with you at the moment, its ok to whine, but if a fur is just going out there being a drama llama, going "Oh, I hate non-furs! They don't understand!" all the time, they need to get slapped.

I agree, I know some furs who just randomly start complaining about how horrible it is, when all I usually notice are trolls who don't actually make sense, they go about saying "Well you're a furry, your opinion doesn't count" and I can respond "No, you're an idiot, you don't even have a good opinion."
Some people take the trolls to strongly, the thing is that's their goal, they want you to feel hurt, you shouldn't though, they aren't actually saying anything logical, they're just saying a bunch of curse words with furry thrown in their sentences repeatedly.

Also not just furs do it.
Now if someone just got flamed by a troll and says "God this idiots are [explicit] annoying me!" I'd be cool with that but at random intervals is useless, it's over.
Although I do usually encourage people to talk about their problems and get it all out.
