Anyway...
Before I got into fursuiting, I was buying and customizing/modifying NERF guns. I joined a couple of the top forums to learn stuff before trying it myself. After asking a couple very simple questions, I was verbally abused (quite harshly) by several forum members including two of the moderators. After researching these individuals, I realized that they were all children. Most of them were/are still in grade school. I couldn't report abusive behavior because it was also coming from the mods. I stopped posting anything for a month or two, only logging on to read other posts. I quickly learned that if my modifications weren't popular with the community, I would be harassed incessantly. I only posted two or three of my customized NERF guns, and included full modification write-ups that worded very carefully. I was in the middle of a few NERF projects when I started construction of my first fursuit. I have several finished NERF projects that were never posted. I am proud of my work, and don't care if anyone likes it or not. If they don't care for my work, then I won't show it to them!
Once I got into fursuiting, I stopped posting completely on the NERF modification forums. I still modify NERF guns, I just do it for my own enjoyment.
