can anyone help us figure out what this programme is..?

My mate described a kids tv programme to me the other day that he really wants to know what its called..  He only saw it once, but it made a lasting impression on him..
There was a silver mask, that had ridges rather than proper features and the human kids were talking to it, and when the mask was removed there was just a bright light underneath..
Does anyone have any clue what the programme was??
