Does this happen to anyone else?
« on: January 11, 2011, 04:32:52 AM »
So I have this really amazing girlfriend/fiance that I've known for about 2 years. We are absolutely amazing together. I wasn't a furry until the last month or so, but I realized how much of a furry I really am in that time. Especially recently. I think I have a tail, ears or my sense of smell seems feels like it goes up at times. For some reason I get the most furry feeling when were cuddling. My girlfriend is OK with me being a furry, but every once in a while, especially lately, I lick her or rub her face instead of kissing her. She never reacts like its normal, which ruins the mood for both of us.

Does this happen to anyone else? I feel like I could keep myself from doing that but I really don't want to repress that side of me anymore...

thoughts?
Love is only a feeling.
A feeling of security, a feeling of happiness, a feeling of lust, a feeling of belonging.
A feeling we need.
We may think we can live life without it, but a life without it would be boring, meaningless, and depressing.
Love controls us. Without love, we are nothing. With it, nothing else in the world matters
Love is only a feeling.
A feeling that makes life worth living or dying

Maybe she's afraid you're turning into someone else?

Thats actually exactly what she said when we talked about it last night. So I assured her I'm the same person. And I'm trying not to do anything that will make her feel like I changed. Cause that is very understandable.

I know exactly how this feels.. I either got weird looks off my ex, or sometimes he'd think it was cute.. I used to hide who I was a lot in the past, however I found it upset me.. You need to decide which will upset you more, repressing who you are, or loosing your girlfriend..
Maybe go back to how you were and introduce it slowly :).. See what works for you both x
Just a cute lil kitty completely in love, but lacking any true friends :3 x

Loosing her will be VERY VERY worse. I couldn't handle that. Not after everything we've been through. Introducing it slowly sounds like a really good idea. Thanks for the advice guys!

Why don't you just explain it to her? Try to have her understand.
You should stay true to yourself and not change for anyone or thing.

Has she only heard bad things about the furry community?? I wouldn't say i'm a 100% fur at all actually (but its fun and everyones so much nicer on the forums), so maybe I could give you a bit of an insight?

When I first heard about furries, I heard they were all perverted, anti-social, and wanting to be something theyre actually not! And I carried that sweeping statement with me until I found out one of my friends was a fur (He even liked Yif) but obviously when I questioned these negative stereotypes, he showed me forums and told me to join one (this one, in fact!!!) When I got to know people on it, everyone completely went against what people had told me, and with the stereotype of furs being something they actually arent is wrong-- its exactly who they are!! And thats wonderful! But it may be that she thinks its not normal and no one else does it whos 'normal'-- maybe get her to join the site, talk to people and she might accept it a bit more.

Another bit of advice is that you could ask her if she has anything in terms of behaviour shes repressing because she doesn't want to seem 'weird', and maybe if she does you could encourage her that its okay to do that, then it might be better when you do want to do that. :)

Hope I helped
