(For a shorter introduction, scroll to the bottom of this post)
I'm writing this late at night so we'll see how this introduction turns out.
As the title implies I'm new to the community. And I don't mean just this forum, but to Furries in general. My cousin introduced me to some interesting art of Furries drawn by some of his favorite artists. One of the pictures was a scene of two well drawn cat people, as I called them, sitting side by side in a park watching the sun fall behind the horizon. I was instantly interested in the drawings and I asked him what they were. He called them Furries.
The thing is I had imagined Furries since I was very young but thought I should keep my imagination to myself in case people were to think I was weird. So it was a pleasant surprise to discover an entire community based around them! After I had learned what Furries were and what they were called I immediately wanted to talk to people about them. Of course I did with my best friend. He didn't seem too interested in them so that was a disappointment. My cousin had returned to where he lived which happens to be a very long ways away.
That's when I turned up here. I wanted to be able to talk with other people who had a similar interest as mine so I did a quick Google of "Furry Forums". This forum popped up and I did a quick skim through the site to make sure it was legit.
But enough of how I got here! You all want an intro, right? Well, hmm... To those who prefer a first name you can call me Chris. I'm 19 years old and counting and I am not a girl. If the statement in that last sentence didn't describe my gender well enough, then how's this: Dude, I'm a dude! You'll have to decide yourselves, but I think I'm fun to talk to and might have some interesting things to say from time to time. If there was only one food left on the planet and I had a choice of what that food would be, it would be banana and peanut butter sandwiches with honey!
Out of the entire animal kingdom my specific favorite species would be snakes and lizards, or reptiles in general. My interest in Furries started in elementary school. Back then I had a wild imagination and things I would think up seemed almost real to me. I had created a story in my head about a young cat girl and a young human boy falling in love. The cat girl happened to be the princess of the forest, and one day she spotted a boy wandering lost through her realm. They end up having adventures together and experiencing a wonderful time together. Then one night, they kiss. After they kiss the princess told the boy that by the rules of her realm, a kiss was a sign of marriage and that they had now been wed. She takes him deep into the forest where the trees were thickest and they enter a clearing. In the middle of the clearing was a massive light blue tiger that seemed to glow almost. The princess asked the tiger if she would make the boy one of her own kind. The tiger does and the couple rule the forest together.
The story goes much more in-depth but you all don't want to read that
Now that I think about it that story is an awful lot like the movie Avatar. Only that I thought of it back in 4th grade...
But that was my first experience with Furry kind and I very much enjoyed thinking about it. I'm not sure what else should be said about myself, so I'll just let you all find out by experiencing the person (or should I say Furry now?
) that is me!

-The short intro-
Hello everyone! My name is Chris. I'm 19 years old and I live in Missouri. I've just recently been exposed to the Furry community by my cousin, and I instantly gained an interest. I don't really know anyone in real life who has the same interest as me, besides maybe my cousin who lives very far away. So I really wanted to be able to chat with others who had a similar interest. That's when Google came in and lead me here!
My favorite type of animals are reptiles, so I was thinking of being a lizard type Furry. Of course, being new and all, I have no idea what being a Furry really is or really what to expect from this community. I'm just glad knowing that I can dive deeper into this amazing subject.
