Don't care about them. I don't care when I say I'm one thing and everyone tells me I'm not.
I mean, I say I'm a Christian and I pretty much get a response like "No you're not! You believe in evolution and don't hate everyone you disagree with and you listen to the Buddha's teachings and you're a therian and you practice pagan stuff and...." And it goes on.
But I don't care, and I don't listen when they tell me to stop. But I don't live in a heavily religious area lie I'm assuming is the case with you. I went to a Christian school but they didn't care that there where Muslims and atheists going there (although it was strange since we had religion class ) If I was in a case like that I'd probably come in with a gay pride shirt, a book by Darwin, a pentagram necklace, furry art, and just about everything else I can think of that'd drive them mad.
It depends on how they'd react though, if they'd just get angry I'd probably do that, if they'd stone me or something I'd just get all angry and crap and try to make them let me continue to stay in my own little bubble.

Yeah, not listening to them is probably the best thing you can do in this situation. Just stay true to who you are and don't let them change you.

sorry that i haz not post in a long time.

my only advice is to fight on for what you belive in! cos there aint nothing holding you back!
if they lay a finger on ya, beat them sinceless! if they try to discurage you from being furry, hell it will make you only stronger!
you got da power and sol to be who you want to be! my only other advice is to be totaly high strong of who you truely are and be yourself!!! cos once you acheve your goals, then make new one!! you are master of yo own universe and if all else fails, well that all i could think of <
