I doubt it.
The way that it doesn't really have a centralized... Anything really, makes it impossible for it to collapse, like a company could.
The furry fandom is made up of people who like anthro animals, and as long as there's one person who does, then there's a fandom (And everyone loves Bugs Bunny! :D)

But that's just what I think, I may be wrong.

I would say it is stable to a fair degree.
It's a pretty diverse fandom, with lots of people. I'm guessing it'd take a while for it to just collapse :P

It is growing. Each year, more join the fandom. And as more join, more cons emerge, more people walk around in suits, there are more meetings and more fur in the media. This makes the haters more visible, as they have more to hate and it gets easier to show. Despite this, it's still growing and as long as furries work against the prejudice, I think and hope it'll lighten up in the future.

I don't know if it's even possible for a fandom to collapse. That would seem to require every member of it abandoning said fandom and their love for it. Somehow, I just don't see that happening. :)

I agree with WhiteTiger. It would require everyone to think the same way about anthropomorphism or an animal persona; and in every case, that rings impossible. So therefore, the fandom will not collapse until humans die off or lose every way to imagine animals with human characteristics.

the fandom is a strong thing, it's ulikely to collapse at all. But it's not like anime fandom where it's prettty much backed by Japan and Japanese people. The fandom is growing and it will always grow.

It's like how Trolling will never collapse because there will always be the internet and the ability to get away with it. With furry fandom, it's anthro everything. It will only collapse (but it won't) if all animals and anthro comics/art all die out (which will never happen)
