cd drive

when i place a cd in my cd drive my cd reads the cd but it makes a loud " growling " noise ( if you where to hear it you might think its going to break the cd or the cd drive) and when i go to play what on the cd ( music or movies) it will play the video but it will not play the audio how do i fix this?

Sounds like the CD may not be sitting in place right or something. Maybe get a flashlight and take a look through the opening to see if anything is in there?

its in right beacuse you have to push down on the cd to lock it on to the tray.

Hm... you might need to bust out some good old professional computing lube (WD40). Typically this is hardly recommended because it is so freaking hard to get it right. If done wrong, the excess may leak into your system and tear something up, or lube up the point where it locks up and... no spiny disk. I have done this... and I had a 42.563 failure rate. Mostly because I been doing this all my life so I can get it done right. It's nothing bad, its just what cheap hardware from overpriced computers developed by computer companies include.

Doesn't tell me much :/. If it's that noticeable you might as well replace your CD drive. It's fairly easy and cheap to do on your own. My desktop is a custom build, meaning I am the tech. So if something goes wrong, replace with the same model, and bam its as easy as plug and play.
